Bonus 2 - Happily, Ever After

Sr. Claire/ Jenna’s Pov

The sound of waves crashing to the shore made me close my eyes and enjoy the breeze.

I love this and I wish to enjoy this beautiful scene and moments forever.

“Aunty” I smile upon hearing that sweet voice and turn back to see my nephew namely Wes waving at me. That kid has grown up so quick and I love to spoil him as he is my only nephew. He took both of his parents looks which is an excellent combination. "Aunty" he calls again, and I wave at him, shaking my head casually.

Today’s my vacation day and I decided to spend it with my family at the beach house like I did every year. We have been doing this practice every year during the warm summer season.

I do not own the beach house as I don’t have money and yes, I finally have a family now apart from the nuns, my mother superior and the children at the orphanage.

“Jenna” my mom hugs me to her side when she reaches me. I snap out of my thoughts and smile at her.

It has been two months since I haven’t seen her because she had spent it with Wes and my brother-in-law. I look over my mom's shoulder to find my brother-in-law Ken, looking so dashing in his dark glasses, a shirt and beach shorts. I wave at him before I turn back to my mom.

“How are you sweetheart?” she asked.

“I am good,” I replied.

“I missed you,” I said and hug her.

It’s funny how things turn out for me and my mom. Everything is great between us. There are no more barriers or any lingering feelings of hate between us.

“Aunt” I turn down to my grown-up nephew who looks at me with a smile.

I bend down and hug him. “As much as I want to hug you but you’re a grown-up kid... Gosh I miss you my little munchkin,” I said as I ruffle his hair into a mess.

“Not my hair aunt and please I am not a kid anymore... Especially that munchkin nickname” he defensively said and slapped my hand away. I laugh in return, poking my tongue out at him.

“If you said so,” I said raising my hand in surrender.

“Hey, how are you?” I ask Ken who just came to stop in front of us. I hug him.

“I’m doing pretty good but not as great as you are,” he replies with a big smile spread on his face.

“Found a special someone?” I wriggle my brows at him, and he simply said no.

“Boring” I deadpan, and we all laugh for a moment. I know Ken never wanted to replace Sophie.

He is a very committed werewolf who only said there’s one woman in his heart and he hopes to see her someday. He used his time, effort, and hard work to raise my nephew and as his sister-in-law, I am so proud of him because my nephew turned out to be a good kid even though he could be a pain in the ass sometimes. It's not exactly my words but his dad's.

“Oh, look they are here,” said my mom and we all turn to see the McCarthys family waving at us from the beach house.

A pregnant Hailey standing beside Colby and their two kids, along with Damon’s mate Anastasia. Sora has grown up into a beautiful young girl. We all wave back at them with smiles on our faces.

“Shall we go there?” asked Ken and we all walk to the beach house to meet the McCarthy family. When we reach the house, I greeted the Alpha before hugging Hailey, then Anastasia and Damon.

Sora was the last one I hug. I squeeze her in my arms. “Aunt Claire, you’re killing me,” she dramatically said. I step back and slap her on the back of her head.

“You’re not dead yet sweetie,” I joke, and she replied with a sigh. I smiled.

“Where’s Wes?” Sora asked. Wes peeks from behind me. He looks at Sora up and down and then spat at her, “what you want ugly duckling?”

“You, little bitch” she screams at him before she starts to run at Wes which ends up in a chasing game. These two always fight on our vacations and no one can stop them.

“How’s everyone doing?” I ask around.

“Great, and we can’t wait for this little one,” Hailey replied as she looks back at Colby with so much love and affection shown in her eyes. I am glad that they’re back together.

“We’re doing okay,” reply Damon as he hugs Anastasia close to him.

Colby looks at his watch and then at his phone. We all eye him curiously. He looks up and caught us all giving him a serious expression.

“Oh, that was Shawn. He’ll be here soon with Hans,” he said.

The last time Shawn and I saw each other was two years ago when he came to say his goodbye. He was leaving for another state with Hans. He even resigns from his Beta position and moves there to start anew with his son. I am glad to hear that they are coming back.

“I was checking with him if he’s bringing his fiancée to be,” he added on, and we all look at him in shock.

“No way!” exclaimed Damon bringing me back to my shock state.

“Awesome!” I said with excitement.

“Why isn’t she coming?” asks Ken.

“Not sure, something about being busy,” answered Colby.

“Oh wow, that sounds great” my mom and Hailey both said at the same time. I am happy for him that he is finally opening his heart to someone.

“I am happy” I blurted, and they all make an awe sound. I roll my eyes before walking inside the house. I heard them laugh but I ignore them.

After some time, the men started to bring out everything for the barbeque as we ladies changed clothes and suntan under the sun for a while.

“They’re here” shouted Damon which put an end to our sunbathing moments. My mom, Hailey, Anastasia, and I all walk to the porch. We see Shawn and Hans fist-pumping Ken and Damon, before giving Colby a big hug.

“Finally, you decided to grace us with your presence, your highness,” I said when I reach the first step of the house.

Hans looks back and runs at me. He hugs me tightly.

“Mom Claire,” he excitedly said. It’s good to have them back. The moment was shortened when a loud and mad voice interrupted us.

“Why are you calling my aunty your mom?” I turn to see Wes glaring at Hans. No one talks or even try to make Wes shit up. They just look at him with

amusement.

“She’s not anyone’s mommy because she is not married," he added. He hardens his glare at Hans.

My nephew doesn’t like when I share my attention with others. He always wants me to be his aunt alone.

“Wes," I call out to him, and he huff folding his arms. I roll my eyes at his small tantrum. "Stop being a drama queen... You know that you’ll always be my number one,” I said, and Hans's fake hurt besides me while Wes nods his head with excitement. He runs at me, and I bend down to hug before kissing on his forehead and pinch on his nose. It's our family gesture of love affection to one another. I turn to Hans who said nothing but smile at me. However, once when Wes teases him, he pouted at me like a two-year-old child. I know Hans won't take We's words in his heart. Hans is a very understanding kid.

“Oh, not you too Mr.” I playfully drag him with me, and everyone started to chill again.

“Hey Shawn,” I wave at him, and he waves back. "It's good to see you again" I said. "Yeah, it feels nice to be here" he replied. We all settled down and talk with one another.

Then after our lunch, we all went for a swim before changing and get ready for dinner. While everyone was inside the house playing chess and making deserts, I decided to take a walk on the shoreline. Shawn who saw me walking out by myself runs to me and we both walk along the shore side by side.

“How are you?” he asked me, and I simply replied “better.”

“Good” he resonates with it and we both came to stop.

“You’re still single?” I ask Shawn even though I heard from Colby that he is about to engage someone. "What? Depends...but you know we can always elope" he teases me, and I hit him on the arm. "Oh, come on...too scare to answer" I said, wriggling my brow at him.

Shawn let out a short laugh, shaking his head for a brief moment. “Not really, we’re still in the boyfriend and girlfriend stage” he replies.

“So, when do we do the meet and greet?” I pressed on. “When it is right” he replied.

“I can’t then, and I am happy that you and others are happy,” I genuinely told him. He smiles at me.

We turn to the sky side and watch the sun about to set. It’s funny how our life ends this way. There may be storms and bumpy roads along the road of happy ever after but that’s life.

As of my life right now I would never change my happily ever after for anything as I am happy and so does everyone.
