Kane questions arrogantly. “Are you sure? Because We would really like to meet you.” His sexy voice deepens as he stares mischievously at them. With his mouth so close to my ear. I can hear all the guys now. My whole body hums deliciously. An involuntary breathy moan escapes me. As I receive a husky mindlink from Manny asking. ‘Are you ready to go, Mami?’ I press my lips tightly together, close my eyes, and squeeze my thighs closed. ‘Mm-hmm!’ I nod frantically, breathing heavily through my nose.

My family all shook their heads. Not wanting to see any transformations. For which I am immensely thankful. “Well, maybe next time. We need to be on our way. Goodbye for now.” He announced louder. He cradles me in his right arm, standing up to go. No! Wait! “I still want to know about my family and our Pack! We can’t leave yet.” I panted. He smirks down at me. ‘And to think you didn’t want to come.’ I blush, shrinking into his arm.

Granny asks, “It’s a long story, but I can give you a short version if you like?” I’ll settle for that. “Yes, please. I need to know.” She smiles warmly, “Okay.” Kane sits down as she explains. “Alpha Kotol was the leader back then. He and his Wolf, Khan, were very powerful beings. He had 2 mates. Meia and Teia, twins! He fathered over a dozen strong, healthy pups. Lead a powerful, reputable, and successful Pack. Had wealth, resources, and literally everything you could dream of. But always hungry for more. He and his Wolf would go around raping human women. Albeit, these females were the wives of known Werewolf hunters. Still, I don’t approve of what either of them did. The Alpha or the Hunters! But when they started raping and killing children? I completely understand why the Mother Goddess had to step in and put a stop to the madness!”

She’s pissed and disgusted. So are all the rest of us. “Abominable, despicable, and deplorable behavior!” Kane growls. I turn and place my palms on his tense, trembling chest. He gazes down at me, still fuming. But he takes some deep breaths and calms down some. I slowly look up at him and a part of me wonders if he could ever do something so… heinous? He gasps horrified staring at me. “Goddess I would never! Don’t you ever cast me into such a dark light, Mate!” Shit! I forgot Ivan could hear my thoughts.

“It was only a fleeting thought, nothing more. I promise Kane.” Granny inquires, “May I continue?” We nod. “Okay. So, after many warnings, Selene Ishtar decided that it was just best to strip him of his ability to Split and his Alpha title. Making him a little stronger than a human. Even then, he and his Mates were disrespectful and unappreciative. So that’s when the curse was put into place.”

Wait. “His Mates were going along with his evil deeds?” I asked, completely disgusted with the idea. She sighs. “Yup. Sometimes you and your Mate are so deeply attuned. That their ways become your ways. For example, if all your life you’ve been a good girl. And your Mate is a so-called bad boy. His bad ways can change you drastically, and you start to align yourself with his way of life. And vice-versa. The point is, don’t allow yourself to be changed by anyone. Not even your, Soulmate.”

I nod. I don’t want to be changed by anyone. Neither do I want to change anybody else. Shit, if you can’t love me for me, then there’s no reason for us to even be with each other, real talk! I love myself and I have to love myself before I love anyone else. No one is gonna care for me the way I can care for myself. Also, if I don’t take care of myself. Then how can I take care of anyone else?

Kane asks her. “So why the tainted blood then?” “That was done by the Mother Goddess as an extra means of punishment. Because of their blatant disrespect of her authority. It’s a way of warning others from doing the same thing.” Granny adds pointedly. Kane wonders. “And has anyone else been cursed like this?” “Not to my knowledge. No. But the curse goes: Until one in your Bloodline is born of a pure and righteous soul is Fated to one of equal degree. You shall never completely be at full strength, power, or leadership again!” So... “What does that mean exactly?” She explains further. “It means we’ve been waiting for someone in our family to be born, come of age, and be Fated to someone who isn’t evil. The Mother Goddess is not going to allow us to Shift, Split, or Lead until this Fated Couple is established.”

I wonder. “Well, who’s leading now?“ She continues. “That position was given to The Beta. They are the second in command and have been since the curse took place. They don’t have as much power or overall authority as the Alpha. But they have been doing a damn good job as our leader since the position fell unto them.” Okay. “So, we’re waiting for this pure-souled, power couple to basically be born and lead us again?” She nods and shrugs. “Basically, yes.” “Well, how would we know? Do you keep in contact with your whole family?”

“Yes, I do. And so far, we’ve only been Mated to individuals that are Omega, Delta, or Gamma. Which are only third, fourth, or fifth in power. But not first, like Alphas, or second, like Betas. A few are Mated to a Beta but nothing higher.” “Why is it important for it to be an Alpha?” I wonder. “Because only an Alpha Couple can lead our Pack. That’s what the Goddess Ordained. And her Word is Law! We can’t go against it. I’ve just explained to you what happens when someone does.”

Yeah, I have no intention of doing that stupid shit. Like ever! “So we are born leaders, that can only be Mated with other born leaders?” “Yes, if you are to lead the Tribal Pack. Which is why we are a bit excited about you coming in with an Alpha. And the Son of the 1st Lycan no less! Although you are not of age yet. You are with an Alpha and no one has been with an Alpha since before the curse took hold.”

I slowly looked up at Kane. Quietly voicing my thoughts. “Do you think that could be us, Kane? That we are the couple to break my family’s curse?” He stares down at me serious yet uncertain. And slowly states. “I’m not sure if we are. But for you, Mate. I will be.” He smiles genuinely while caressing my face. I feel Yuri & Ja’el cuddle up and swoon to his affections. A deep smirk and cocky look settled on his handsome, hairy face. Knowing that he has us feening over him.

“Keya, uh you have anything else inside of you? Because you’ve always smelled a bit different to us.” Gasp! Damn! Kane suggests quietly. “You might as well tell them.” I glance around at their curious faces. And announced nervously. “Yes. Um, some days ago we visited a witch & wizard couple, and they told me that I am paternally 100% Werewolf and maternally half-human, 45% Fairy and 5% Angel.” I wonder if they are upset about me talking to them? “Whoa, you’re part Angel? Dang Keya! That’s pretty cool!” Cherry exclaims excitedly. “And Fae? That’s interesting.” Suzette grins, amazed.

I mumbled nervously mumble. “So you’re not mad I spoke to a witch?” Granny scoffs incredulously. “No. Because there are really good witches and wizards in this world. Don’t believe what you see in movies so much. But Fairy & Angel? Wow! Your mother’s family are into some wild stuff.” She laughs. We all end up laughing. “Yeah, they are!” I also told her about Steve. And that I talked to Tey already. And asked Lucia about helping me talk to Dad. And she agrees that’s a great idea. She also says that we’ll talk later about certain things. Now that I know who I am. We say our goodbyes after I explain where we’re going.

She warns, “Well, just be careful. Cedar Falls Compound is located on the absolute Southern edge of Chicago. In the woods. And remember, it ain’t called the Wild 100′s for nothing. It gets pretty crazy out there. But I know that you’ll be in good, powerful, protective hands with Kane by your side.” She smiles at us. Kane grins proudly, showing all his sharp ass teeth!

He carries me and settles me in the car. Buckling me in, he smirks arrogantly. “See, I told you to trust me, My Keya.” I blush shyly as he kisses my forehead. I guess it did work out fine.
