Chapter 24: ALMOST CAPTURED

All the muscles in her body had refused to listen to her command at that time.

The driver watched in horror as DeLorna fell to the floor when she heard the howl. He knew it was the wolves attacking. There wouldn't have been much panic if it had only been omega wolves that were attacking. But the howl just now was the howl of an Alpha. Though he wasn't sure he could at least tell.

If it wasn't the howl of an Alpha DeLorna wouldn't be forced to her knees as she would have heard the howl of their Alpha many times so a random howl other than an Alpha's howl wasn't sufficient enough to make her fall on her knees.

"Ma'am permit me to carry you. Nothing must happen to you or else the Alpha would skin all of us in the pack." The driver said hurriedly.

"Just go and leave me. I'll hold them back," DeLorna smiled.

"No ma'am you can't do that. You'll be raped by those dogs, tortured before being killed by those useless things," The driver said.

Though this situation had never happened before in the pack. He didn't know why the wolves were suddenly attacking their pack.

He was sure they had got the information from someone inside that the Alpha and his sister were not in the pack or else they wouldn't have dared to attack as it would be calling for war.

Almost everyone in the pack knew of the unsaid feud between their Alpha and the wolf pack. Over time their Alpha had only been tolerating the wolf pack as they had been getting on his nerves.

He was sure the wolves were ready for a war that was why they had attacked the pack at a time the Alpha and sister weren't present. He was sure they would massacre half of the pack leaving the pack weak and vulnerable without soldiers.

But they had forgotten how strong our Alpha was. Only he and his sister could massacre the entire wolf pack once they were forced to do so. And it looked like that was what would be happening as they were about to touch the reverse scale of their Alpha.

"I said just go. I command you as the Luna of the pack to leave here right away," DeLorna yelled at the driver.

The driver had no choice but to scramble away hearing DeLorna's yell. Just now her yelling had sounded like a howl which sent shivers down his spine. He could have sworn he saw her eyes become red when she yelled.

The driver knew he couldn't leave and stood only some distance away from DeLorna.

Seeing that the driver was staying, DeLorna had no choice but to shake her head. She knew what he was afraid of. Well, it wasn't his fault.

She looked in this distance as she could vaguely make out a very large figure of a black wolf battling something. Though she couldn't see it she could not help but guess it was the fighting the guards.

Suddenly, another howl came. This time it was even more powerful than the first. It was as if the creature howling was infuriated. The howl sent shivers down DeLorna's spine as she felt weak further.

Now the road was empty as all the pack members had run off to somewhere she didn't know. She could not help but shake her head when she thought of the way they had ignored her and ran for their lives. She could not blame them. It was human nature to run away from danger first before thinking of the second person.

"Time to mind link him,".She muttered as she managed to sit up crossing her legs and closing her eyes.

DeLorna closed her eyes as she tried to feel the connection between her and Jefferson.

Because this was the third time she was using it she was quite familiar with it and thus it didn't take long before she was able to connect to Jefferson.

DeLorna was sweating profusely as she mind-linked Jefferson. Because she was tired and didn't have much strength in her body it had taken a huge toll on her.

The driver who didn't run away saw DeLorna's state and couldn't help but rush to her. He had to protect the Alpha's mate.

He knew if he also ran away like she had commanded and then something happened to her. They would all be skinned in the pack.

He could only sigh while looking at DeLorna and wondered what she was doing that was making her sweat this much. He only hoped that either the Alpha or his sister would return to the pack before anything serious would happen. Though something serious was already happening. He was also sure some of the guards would have been wounded right now.

Jefferson, who was in the meeting with the other four leaders of the other pack, sighed in dismay. He badly wanted to leave as he had been having an ominous feeling. But didn't leave. He waited to hear all they had to say.

Suddenly he felt the connection between him and DeLorna come to life.

Immediately he concentrated and activated the mind link making DeLorna's face come Into his head.

Immediately he saw her, he smiled, "You're back at the pack right."

"Yeah, I'm back. But something is wrong," DeLorna in Jefferson's head said.

"What's wrong?" Jefferson frowned.

Immediately, DeLorna explained everything from the beginning.

Hearing his mate's explanation Jefferson felt his anger boiling as his oppressive aura was released suffocating the four leaders.

The four leaders had to use their aura to suppress the aura. Even at that, it wasn't enough.

Immediately after DeLorna finished the explanation Jefferson felt the mind link cut before he could ask any questions.

Immediately he stood up from his seat and looked at the four leaders.

"The wolf pack had declared war." He intoned in a deep gruff voice before speeding off.

"What just happened?" The four men said simultaneously.

"I think his pack was attacked." The chubby-looking man said.

Immediately the others frowned.

"It's because he just communicated with his mate through the mate bond mind link. Am sure he wouldn't be so angry and declare war if that wasn't the situation." The chubby-looking man said when he saw the questioning eyes of the others.

Hearing his explanation they all agreed and stood up before dispersing to their various packs.

None said anything to each other. All they were waiting for was a call from Jefferson that they should get ready for war.

DeLorna who managed to connect the mind link to Jefferson quickly managed to explain the situation of the pack to him.

She wanted to talk some more but she was too weak to do so. She could feel her energy draining rapidly and she felt her consciousness fading.

After managing to explain the situation to her mate. DeLorna felt her consciousness fade away and she couldn't hold on any longer.

The driver standing beside DeLorna Suddenly saw her collapsing.

Immediately he rushed toward her and held her. Shaking her gently he could tell that she had fainted.

Though he didn't know what the cause was. Seeing this cold sweat covered him. The Alpha's mate had fainted. He didn't know if it was due to fear or something else as he couldn't say. He could only hope she'll wake up soon.

"Hey, Ethan." The driver suddenly heard a voice and looked up immediately.

Coming towards him were five men and a woman from the pack.

Immediately he saw them he smiled happily and gestured toward them.

After the people of the pack escaped to the face house of the pack. They suddenly remembered their Alpha's mate was still outside. And from the way she was looking at them while they were rushing to the safe house. It was clear something was wrong with her.

Immediately they selected five of their strongest and a female to go bring DeLorna back to the safe house cause they knew if something happened to her they were all in trouble.

The group had gotten to where DeLorna was and saw the driver holding her. It seemed like she had fainted which was true.

So they had called out to the driver whose name was Ethan and he gestured for them to come to help him.

Getting to his side they helped place DeLorna on the female's back and wanted to go.

"Did I say you could go?" A vice sounded behind them making the seven of them stop and turn around in horror.

Turning around they came in the face of a tall and muscular figure who was bare and was only in boxers.

"I see the person you carry on your back must be quite an important person for you guys to come take her." He hissed.

"It's none of your business. Besides, if anything happens to any of us or her, you should be prepared to pay the price." Ethan yelled at the figure.

"Well, I have guessed it. Hand her over and I'll leave you guys alone." He smirked.

"Do you think you're going to go away with attacking our pack?" Ethan sneered.

"I know I'm not going to get away with it, that's why I have requested you to hand her over." The figure smirked.

"Never!!" Ethan yelled.

"Then I guess I'll just kill you a lot and take her as a captive. Let's see what your Alpha is going to do?" He smiled.

Suddenly the figure frowned and he sniffed the air. "Human!" He exclaimed.

"This can only mean one thing. That's your Alpha's mate."

"Well, this makes it interesting. I'll make your Alpha surrender with his mate under me."

"She's quite hot. I could have some rather pleasurable experience with her." He smirked. There was even a bulge in his trousers as he thought about the lewd things.

"How dare you have such lewd thoughts on our Alpha's mate," Ethan yelled and rushed to attack the figure.

Seeing Ethan attack, the figure smirked and punched Ethan which sent him flying.

"Go on to the safe house. We'll try our best to hold him back" One of the male figures who had come out said to the female who was carrying DeLorna on her back.

The female nodded and started running.

"Not so fast." The man in boxers moved to attack her but was stopped by the five men who had transformed into Lycan and attacked the man.

Ethan, who was thrown away, had also transformed and attacked the man.

Seeing this the man smirked transformed into a huge black wolf and attacked the six of them.

In no time he had suppressed them and had even thrown them away.

But the six wouldn't give up; they continued to attack the man hoping the female figure would get away with DeLorna who was on her back.

It was worth it. They had to protect their Alpha's dignity even if it would cost their lives.

The female kept on running without looking back even with the painful howl she was hearing.

Suddenly six huge figures flew past her and landed on the floor in front of her front.

The figures were the five men including Ethan. They had been beaten by the werewolf until they were so weak they transformed back to their human form.

Seeing the figures the female came to a stop and looked at them. But the six of them yelled at her to continue running.

But before she could move an inch the figure appeared in front of her and smirked.

"Just hand her over."

"Never." The female figure yelled.

"Then get ready to die." The figure said with a stern voice and punched her in the abdomen which sent her flying with DeLorna on her back.

Before she could land a figure caught her.

"You are really brave. Attacking my pack and even waiting to go away with my mate." The figure who had caught the Female said.

The female figure's heart beat faster immediately after she heard the voice while the six men sprawled on the floor breathed in a sigh of relief.

"He had arrived." They muttered simultaneously before fainting.
