Chapter 5: FEELINGS

After a minute or two Jefferson transformed back into his human form and looked at DeLorna.

"How do you feel now?" He asked with a smile on his face.

"It's kinda painful at first but it stopped hurting after a minute or two," DeLorna replied.

"Yeah, that's how it's supposed to feel," Jefferson replied smiling.

"I can feel the connection between our souls. Your fears, anger, happiness, sadness, and all other emotions I can feel. I can feel your strength. I can also feel myself becoming stronger. I can also hear your inner thoughts if you concentrate well," DeLorna said.

Jefferson smiled and didn't say anything. He knew this was bound to happen. He could also feel his strength rising at a level he didn't expect.

What surprised him most was the human before him who also said she felt stronger. He couldn't understand why she became stronger when she was only a human.

DeLorna who was still lying on the

rocky table tried to stand up.

Immediately after she did that she felt pain seeping through her bones as all her body hurt badly.

"Ahhh!"

She screamed.

Immediately she screamed, Jefferson who wasn't paying much attention to her rushed towards her.

"What's wrong?" He asked, trying to touch her.

Immediately DeLorna screamed.

"Why are you screaming?" Jefferson asked, looking confused.

"Yo..u a..re na..ked," DeLorna managed to say amidst the pains.

Jefferson, who had transformed into a lycanthrope when he was about to mark her, had forgotten he was naked. It was not until DeLorna said it that he realized it.

"And so if am naked." Jefferson frowned.

"What if the guards come in and find you like this," DeLorna managed to reply. The pain in her body had recessed greatly.

"They don't care to come in without my orders," Jefferson replied proudly.

"You are not touching me until you wear something," DeLorna said, not wanting Jefferson to touch her.

"Relax, little one. It's not like I am not your mate. We are practically bound together so there's nothing wrong with you seeing me like this," Jefferson replied with a smirk.

"Just put something on please," DeLorna said, trying to stand up again.

"Ahhh!"

She screamed as she felt the same stinging pain in her bones.

"Hey, there's a little one. Allow me to help you," Jefferson smiled.

"No, you are not touching me. You are naked," DeLorna replied stubbornly.

"Ahhh!" DeLorna screamed again as soon as she finished what she was saying.

The pain had raced through her entire body and had refused to stop.

She had no choice but to cry out in pain.

The pain was becoming unbearable and she was beginning to lose consciousness.

She was devoid of strength at the moment. Even a gentle breeze of wind would be able to blow her off right now.

The strength that had been cruising through her body just now had vanished. What the hell was happening?

DeLorna looked at Jefferson who was standing by her side and doing nothing to help her.

"Wh..y are..n't yo..u help..ing m..e." She shuttered.

"I wanted to help you but you refused to say I was naked," Jefferson replied.

"I know you can also feel the pain I am going through right now," DeLorna managed to say.

She could feel it was getting harder to hold on to her consciousness. She didn't know why her mate was standing and doing nothing to help her predicament.

Jefferson standing by DeLorna's side could also feel the pain she was going through because of the activated mate bound. But he didn't do anything to help her, not because he didn't feel like helping her but because in truth it was a ritual she was undergoing.

The ritual was all about how long she would be able to endure the pain before giving in and losing consciousness.

Actually when he had moved toward her the first time he didn't intend to help her but to signify the start of the ritual.

DeLorna looked at her mate who was standing beside her and doing nothing.

After a minute or two DeLorna could no longer hold on. Then she had reached the limit of her endurance and was starting to lose consciousness.

She tried to hold on but it was impossible she couldn't hold on any longer.

"Congratulations you passed," DeLorna heard Jefferson's voice.

Immediately she turned and looked at him in surprise.

"Wh..."

DeLorna wanted to say but her consciousness started fading rapidly that the only she could remember was Jefferson transforming back into his lycanthrope for taking her in his arms.

All she could remember next was the smile on his face even his beast form before she gave in to the darkness that was slowly consuming her.

Jefferson noticed DeLorna was about to lose consciousness and transformed immediately into his lycanthrope form and took her in his arms.

He could hear her shuttering as she tried to ask questions but she was too weak to ask any questions so before she knew it she lost consciousness and fell asleep.

He smiled looking at her sleeping face. She was sure to be beautiful even at sleep. Her brown hair had a different effect on him. Her jade-like skin was so white that he didn't want to stop touching it. Though her eyes were closed, there was a smile on her face.

Her perfectly carved face was so beautiful he couldn't stop staring at her. Apart from the fact that she was his mate, he loved her dearly.

She was the one who changed him. Who thought him not to be the heartless monster he's always thought himself to be? Anytime he hears her voice it was as if an electric current were passing through his body.

Her innocent voice and look made him drop everything. Her stubborn way of acting made him fall even deeper for her.

She had everything a man would want from a girl. She was neither arrogant nor humble. Though he sometimes gets angry because of her stubborn nature, he still loves her.

Deep down he was scared of losing her. He knew that she was going to start a new life here in his pack. all he was hoping for was that she wouldn't get corrupted in the fight for power.

Jefferson sighed as he pushed all these thoughts to the back of his mind. it was worthless thinking about it anyway.

He walked out of the altar with DeLorna in his arms while in his lycanthrope form.

Stepping outside he glanced at the moon. It was a full moon night. Truly the moon goddess had blessed him.

immediately he disappeared out of sight with DeLorna in his arms.
