He seems different
Sandro panted.
His sea-green eyes narrowed, and he winced as a muscle in his back popped.
“Shít!”
He darted across the room to the corner, far away from where Thalia was.
He leaned against a pillar and grasped the chain lying on the floor, wrapped it around his body and secured it with a lock.
“Alessandro?” Thalia shot him a questioning look as he tightened his grip on the chain.
“Do not come closer.” He repeated, slowly.
But, she did the opposite of what he said.
Thalia parted the curtain and stared at the sky. “It's not even a full moon yet, why are you shifting? I thought you could control your shifting at will.”
She glared at Sandro as he didn't respond, and she heaved a sigh, “You need to keep calm, Sandro. You can control this.”
“It's different.” Sandro winced as his knees gave way. He fell to the floor and stayed on all fours, “You need to leave the fúcking room!”
“How can I when I don't even know what is going on with you? You make me confused here!”
“You don't need to know,” Sandro grunted. “I don't want to hurt you, just get the fúck out of the room and shut the door behind you!”
Thalia jolted at the harshness of his voice, and she trembled. Her eyes wandered to Sandro's, and she realized his once beautiful sea-green orbs were starting to turn into a darker colour.
It was different from the colour of the berserker wolf which was red with golden rings around it and the normal wolf which was black and flecked with gold.
This was the blackest of black. A freaking vantablack and the more she stared at it, the more she felt it drawing her in.
Thalia shook her head and bit her lower lips.
“Sandro!” She shouted as he began to shift.
“Get the fúck out of here!” He growled, straining against the chain restricting him.
Thalia was stubborn, but he never knew she'd stay when faced with death.
Sandro was aware of what was happening. He knew no one could save him except the moon goddess herself. She was the one who had placed the curse on not only him, but his lineage.
Six years ago, he had assumed everything had passed, since no sign of the curse showed forth until now.
If Thalia didn't leave the room, he was going to kill her. Even if he didn't want to, his wolf will.
Thalia bit her lip again and grasped her dress, laying on the floor with her pants. She stared at Sandro the last time before darting out of the room with the duvet wrapped around her without bothering to change.
She rammed into Blaze in the hallway, who gripped her hand and pulled her into his room.
His eyes roved over her body, and he tilted his head, “I guess he did have control over you after all.”
“Do not judge me.” Thalia said, “I did it because I wanted to and not because of him.”
“It's good to know he didn't force himself on you. By the way, shouldn't you be with him at the moment, or he pissed you again?” Blaze took out a cigarette from the box on the coffee table and stuck it between his lips.
“That's the problem.” She said, sitting on the unmade bed.
“Something is wrong with Alessandro,” Thalia added. “He seems different with black eyes. It's not like any wolf I have ever seen, and he looked murderous as well as vulnerable.”
“Sandro, vulnerable? That I will never believe. I think he's using your head.” Blaze mumbled. He lit the cigarette and took a drag, before puffing out the smoke.
Thalia shook her head, “He's not, I swear. I am sure something is wrong with him. He's not Sandro.”
Blaze furrowed his brows as he stared at Thalia. He wondered what had got into her for her to defend him.
A while ago, she had said some nasty things about him but now, she was saying something else.
“I'll go check myself.”
“No.” Thalia shook her head. “Stay away from him. At the moment, I don't think you want to go anywhere near him.”
“Why? I am his Beta and I should be by his side at all times.”
“Not this time.” Thalia glared. She rushed to the door and spread her arms, blocking the entrance.
“If you are worried about me, you needn't be. I'm strong enough to handle him.”
“No, Cole, the man in the room isn't Alessandro. He's rather a monster.”
As if on cue, a howl resounded throughout the house and Thalia shivered, “You can hear that? It's Alessandro!”
Blaze moved towards the curtain and stared at the sky.
“I did the same thing when I saw him changing. It's weird, and his eyes didn't have their usual colour. Instead, it was a vantablack.”
“Shít!” Blaze yelled, moving to the door. “You need to move away from the door, Thalia.”
He gripped her hand, but she didn't budge.
“I'm not letting you out of this room, Cole. You need to fight me to be able to go out.”
“I can save him. He'll die if left alone!” Blaze yelled and tugged his hair in frustration.
“Is there something you are not telling me about him?”
“There's nothing, but you need to stay in while I go out.” Blaze said, nudging her.
Thalia narrowed her eyes at him as he rushed out of the room and sighed. She couldn't stop him even if she tried.
She only wishes he wouldn't get hurt by what he was trying to do.
************
'Cursed wolf.'
'You'll die in pain.'
'You are weak, and I am taking over your body soon!'
“Stop!” Sandro roared.
He gripped his ear and shook his head. His body tingled and sweat coated it. He glared at where Thalia had left some while ago and wondered what he would have done to her if she hadn't.
His ear rang from the many voices inside his head and he winced.
“Please stop.” He howled in pain whilst trying to break free from the chain.
But he was aware it was impossible. The chain had been enchanted with magic, and only the spellcaster could break the spell on it.
The chain cut through his skin as he tried harder to break free from it.
The door went ajar and Blaze stepped in.
“Sandro!” He gripped the shot he had pocketed before leaving the room.
Sandro bared his teeth as Blaze stepped closer.
“Calm down, wolfie. It's just the temporal cure I brought to you. I didn't know it was time already.”
Sandro snarled. “I can't control this!”
“You can.” Blaze asserted. He approached Sandro slowly and gripped the syringe, which was filled to the brim with blood.
“Just relax,” Blaze murmured, and he crouched in front of him.
Sandro howled as he felt a jab at his side, and he swatted Blaze with his claw.
For a few seconds, his eyes glinted. Then he fell to the ground, convulsing before they closed.
