The loud chirping of birds awoke Arabella from her slumber. She caressed her temple and let out a deep breath as she slowly rose to sit on the cold tiled floor.
She furrowed her brows whilst trying to recall the reason she was sleeping on the floor.
Then she shook her head as memories from the night before flooded into her mind.
It was because of Sandro. After he left her in a state of dilemma, he came again to taunt her and told her he owns her and everything in her.
He had told her she was absurd for outrightly rejecting his offer. So, he had made her take back her words by nearly choking her to death.
Arabella believed he only took pity on her when he realized she was out of breath.
She doubted he pitied her as it seemed he enjoyed everything he was doing. Heck, she was sure he only stopped to watch her wheeze and grovel before him.
It was humiliating, to say the least, but she had no choice as her body was too weak to protest.
A knock sounded on the door, jarring her out of her thoughts.
Arabella stood abruptly and regretted it immediately as her head reeled.
She staggered towards the vanity and grasped it, whilst exhaling. After she regained her balance, she straightened and her forehead furrowed as the knock continued.
She didn't know who was outside but taking a guess, she believed it would be none other than, the almighty Alessandro himself.
Perhaps, he had come to taunt her and make her beg for her life.
The life she believed would be gone soon.
She stepped towards the door slowly and heaved a breath. She rubbed her clammy palms on her cargo shorts and swallowed the lump that formed in her throat.
What was he going to do to her when he stepped into the room? Arabella mused as her trembling hand went to the doorknob.
As much as she tried not to feel threatened by his presence, she failed miserably all the damn time.
She bit her lower lip as she twisted the lock before opening the door.
She took two steps backwards whilst waiting for the taunt and opened her eyes a few seconds later as she got none.
Instead of sea-green eyes, her eyes collided with dark-brown ones.
It wasn't Sandro that was in front of her, but rather a petite lady with ebony skin. Her red hair which was obviously dyed was curly and she seemed to be about her age.
"Good morning, Arabella," Her hazel eyes brightened and her plump lips stretched out in a wide smile.
She wrinkled her long nose as she stepped further into the room.
Startled, Arabella raised her brows as she assessed her. She wondered if she had seen her someplace before but shook her head when no form of resemblance to anyone came up in her mind.
"Oh, don't be surprised." The redhead flashed her a grin, "The boss told me about you and I am your maid, Janice."
"The boss?" Arabella asked. Even before getting an answer, she knew who he was.
"It's Signore Alessandro De Luca."
Arabella suppressed the urge to shudder and concentrated on Janice who was still speaking rather than on the thought of him.
"So…?" Janice nudged her and she jumped.
"Sorry," Janice said. "I didn't know you have a lot going through your mind."
"I'm sorry, Janice. I don't mean to be rude and it's so nice to see you. But, I don't think I need a maid."
"Please," Janice laughed, then waved her hands in front of her dismissively. "You can't go against his order."
"I can and I w…"
"Now come on, he requested to see you soon and I need to get you ready before it's time. I don't want to get into trouble." Janice ushered her out of the room before she could protest.
"Get ready for?"
"How about you let me do my work without any disruption from you? You'd know as soon as I am done and if I am to take a guess, maybe he wants to have breakfast of some sort with you." Janice rambled.
Arabella sighed, shutting her eyes. She bit her lower lip and clenched her fists.
Was he going to go with what he told her the day before?
No, she mumbled to herself. Being a séx slave was the worst thing she could ever think of.
She wished his intention of summoning her was for breakfast alone and not the awful thoughts running through her head.
A while later, Janice's eyes stared at her back in the mirror.
"You are exquisite, Arabella. Just like your name, very gorgeous." She complimented as she did the last touch to her face.
"I doubt that." Arabella grimaced.
Even though she knew she looked good through the mirror, it was all due to the help of Janice.
She didn't know what Alessandro needed her for, but she wasn't comfortable with what she was in or rather, what she had been forced to put on.
The sequined dress was short-sleeved and mid-thigh. It hugged her body perfectly like a second skin and she wondered how her size had been gotten correctly due to her small frame.
She glared at her chest and attempted to cover her cleavage on display but it was of no use. She wondered if it was the pushup bra she donned or the plunging neckline of the dress that was revealing too much.
As if it wasn't enough everything on her chest was showing, the fúcking dress was an open back.
She had resigned to her fate of being Alessandro's slave and didn't have anywhere to run to when Janice shoved her into the bathroom, but being in a dress that wasn't her choice was inappropriate.
She huffed and turned to Janice, "Can't I be in something else? It's too showy and who the fúck picked something like this?!"
