Force me if you dare

After making countless futile efforts to get down, she screams at him, "Lucan put me down this minute."

Lucan eventually lets her down when they get to her chambers after turning a deaf ear to her pleas. As soon as she has the opportunity to express her rage at him, Amaya smashes him hard in the face and strikes his chest as forcible as she can. Lucan grabs her by the shoulder and throws her to the bed in a frenzy of wrath.

"Why must you be so difficult?" She starts to mellow out as he roars angrily at her, but her eyes are still full with wrath.

"You won't dare keep me in this room,' she shouts at him.

"Are you doubting my words?" he scoffs. "Maybe after staying here for months, you'll learn to show me some respect"

She murmurs in a savage whisper as she leans closer to him. "Damn you"

"Have a nice day Amaya" he says gruffly and turns to leave, but she doesn't let him.

"Don't you dare do what I know you are about to do"

He sits her back down on the bed forcefully "stay here or I'll be forced to change your place of confinement to a dungeon"

"You won't dare" she spits even though she knows the look in Lucan's eyes showed seriousness.

He walks to the door, but her stubborn self spurns to adhere to his demands. She follows him, holding the door with all her might to deter him from shutting it, but he is stronger than her so shutting it didn't take him anything.

She slams her hand on the door in an attempt to knock it down as she cries at him indignantly, "Lucan! Open the door right away. Who do you think you are?" She screams fiercely, "You don't own me, and you can't hold me here against my will," but none of her profanities are heard.

Her voice starts to get affected from screaming too much, she stops yelling and begins to beg. "Lucan" this time she calls him in a softer tone. "Let me out. I promise not to speak the truth again. Ever" she begs, but nothing happens, and once again anger streams through her. " Damn you!" She curses as loud as she can.

"Attention must be paid to the state of that kingdom's people" Ralph, Fredricks's pack's beta utters, yet Frederick shoots his arrow into the woods with a casual demeanor.

He steadies another arrow on his bow and says, "And what do you suppose I do about that? My brother is king, and you know it. I no longer have any business with that kingdom."

"Your brother was made king by chance. I'm sure your father didn't think things through when he declared the son to take his crown".

Fredrick lowers his bow and glares at Ralph in anger. "You will not speak of my dead father in such a manner. He knew what he did when he made Lucan king" he raises his bow again.

"Alpha Fredrick, I have served the royal house since I was little and I know certain things you don't. The king does whatever your mother says and you know your mother has always preferred Lucan over you. In my opinion, you would make a truer king than Lucan. The people of Santol are crying and in need of a better king. You can't just stay far away and do nothing"

"What do you suppose I do then, take the throne?" Fredrick asks, already galled at where the conversation was going.

"You are aware of your desire, yet you are incredibly self-conscious. Do you believe the monarch would have abdicated peacefully if he had offered the kingdom to you rather than Lucan?"

Fredrick looks Ralph in the face. "That is why I am different from my brother"

The door finally opens, but Amaya doesn't budge, still lying on the bed with her eyes wide open. She had been banging on the door in desperation, wanting to get out, but all the zeal left her when the door never opened.

"Milady, the king sends for you, he says you should have dinner with him," Windy, one of her maids says to her.

Amaya immediately loses her mind. The temerity for him to ask her to dine with him. He doesn't even deem it fit to come over by himself. If he is going to send for her like a dog, instead of apologizing for having her locked up here for almost a day, then she will gladly stay here.

"Milady?" Windy calls out again when she didn't get any response the first time

"Tell your king that I will not leave my confinement until he comes down here to get me" she says, knowing fully well that it is a tasky message to send a maid, but she doesn't care.

Windy swallows hard, there is no way she can tell the king that. "Milady if you will just...."

"Nothing" Amaya cuts her off. "I will do nothing but stay here and you will tell him that" she adds and waits for the door to shut, signaling the maid has left.

Amaya sits up from her bed, waiting for Lucan to show up because she knows it will only take a matter of time before he finally arrives.

Just as she had anticipated, the door opens, revealing Lucan. He doesn't have the initial look of fury he had when he locked her in the room. He watches her for a while, signing in frustration before finally speaking. "You turned down my request to have dinner with me"

"Is that supposed to be a question or a statement?" Amaya folds her hand, putting on her regular bratty attitude.

"You haven't eaten anything today"

"Well, whose fault is that?"

"The maids said they brought you food and you didn't take any"

"A prisoner barely gets anything to eat. If you want to treat me like one, then be good at it" she shoots at him

Lucan is frustrated at this moment. He has never felt so wild with a lady the way he does with Amaya. Despite how rude she is, he is unable to express outrage at her. He can't seem to throw her off despite his best efforts; she has a firm grasp on him.

"Come" he beckons softly, taking Amaya by surprise.

She is reluctant, but her body obeys his commands. The look of disapproval doesn't leave her face even as she walks toward him. She stops a few feet away from him, but he pulls her closer to himself with his strong hands and in a split second, she is in his arms.

He does something Amaya doesn't expect of him. He hugged her. She is amazed but doesn't pull away from his hug, instead, she stays in his arms inhaling his arousing manly scent.

"I'm sorry" he mumbles and she melts. All the anger she has been saving up to pour out on him all disappears into thin air. It is a statement she never thought she would hear from someone as pompous as him.

The embrace was initially supposed to be for a short while, but Lucan finds himself lost in it. He heaves her closer to himself and takes a whiff of her scented hair, causing his inner wolf to yearn for her. He slips his hand beneath her waist and cups her chin.

Amaya on the other hand is lost in his eyes. They are extraordinary, pinning her down where she stood. One look at those intense eyes and her legs become wobbly. She doesn't understand why her body cries so much for his touch when deep down she knows it was wrong. While he slips his hand under her waist, she doesn't fight back, instead, she draws nearer to him.

"Amaya" he calls out in a husky whisper as he caresses her chin with his thumb. Amaya fights the urge to take his beautiful lips in hers. All she craves is to have his strong hand on her and his virile body on top of her, but she doesn't fantasize for long as reality sinks in.

The reality of how much she despises the royal household. The reality of how much blood they have on their hands. She moves back, releasing herself from his hold. "no" she mumbles to him.

Lucan lets out a sharp breath, but that doesn't relieve himself at all. "Come down and eat with me"

"I'm not hungry" she sits back on the bed. All she can think of is the stronghold Lucan has over her. How he could effortlessly lay with her. She fears if he continues this torture, she might give in. The thought makes her shriek. It is the nightmare of being acquainted with someone from the Royal house.

"Do you want me to force you to have dinner?"

"Why does nobody take me seriously over here? When I said I didn't want to eat, did you not hear me?" she snarls at him in

"And I'm not taking that for an answer"

"Then force me if you dare" she challenges him
