Epilogue ( part 2)
Maria Eduarda
Two months later...
Here I am, meeting my Prince Charming. Seeing him there in front of me, firm and strong, it didn't even seem as if he had come between life and death. And I begin to remember what happened two months ago.
The doctors even said at that time that he might not survive, and God knows how that ended up with me. I ended up fainting on the floor and was helped by the nurses, who called the doctor on duty.
- Mrs. Vitorino?
- Yes... - I answer, and try to sit up, but I can't. I see that I had a serum in my vein and I find it strange.
- Madam, try to lie down for a while - I hear the nurse say.
- What happened?
- Don't you remember anything?
- I remember they said that my fiancé was in mortal danger," I whisper, afraid that I had heard wrong.
- It's true, your fiancé is in critical condition," the doctor comments, and I begin to cry.
- Doctor, is what he has very serious?
- I'm sorry, ma'am, it's serious.
- I want to see him!
- At the moment he can't receive any visitors.
- Please, doctor, I need to see him!
- Ma'am, your fiancé is receiving a blood transfusion right now.
- So is it serious, doctor?
- For the time being yes, and you need to rest.
- Rest? My fiancé is in a room receiving blood and you are asking for calm? - I'm almost screaming, nervous.
- Yes, you need to rest, because of your condition.
- What are you talking about?
- You are pregnant!
- Pregnant? - I whisper, and automatically bring my hands to my belly.
- Yes, you are pregnant, and from the expression on your face I imagine that it is a shock for you.
- Yes ... - I whisper, and my hands stay there on my belly, wanting to feel something, but I knew it was still early.
- I recommend that you see an obstetrician immediately and start prenatal care.
- Doctor, please let me see my fiancé!
- I'll see if I can and let you know, OK? Try to get some rest, and I'll be back in a little while to check on him.
- OK.
I go back to bed with the nurse's help and ask them to tell my sister.
- Please, my prince, recover soon, I have to tell you that soon our son will be born, the fruit of our love - I say a prayer.
Now I was there, after two months, walking through the church, wearing a white dress and carrying a bouquet of red roses that matched my hair, according to my sister.
I decided to walk down the aisle alone. My sister was very emotional, I saw how happy she was to know that I was pregnant. The only person who didn't know was Leon, but today he would find out.
When I get to the altar, he says:
- You look beautiful, my queen! - I saw in his eyes how emotional he was.
- You look beautiful too, my prince.
I give my bouquet to my sister, and the priest begins to speak. I stand there looking at him, remembering how strong he was to have overcome everything, and this thanks to our love, which won many battles.
My sister was soon to marry Lucas. My mother-in-law Melinda moved closer after she found out that I was pregnant. Laura was diagnosed with possessiveness and psychosis and was hospitalized for treatment for quite a while. Pedro would actually go to a grand jury and very soon be locked up for a long time.
When the priest declares us husband and wife, Leon speaks up, making everyone laugh:
- Thank God! - and kisses me, sealing our vows. Soon after, we leave, under a shower of white rose petals, symbolizing our love.
We went on to our house, where we gave Olivia the day off, happy to see that her little boss was finally quiet. We hired a buffet with lots of food, music and drinks. As soon as we got home, we went dancing.
We hadn't invited many people, just a few close ones and some colleagues. Everyone was having a good time.
When the time came to throw the bouquet, it fell into my sister's arms. I knew that soon it would be her.
After some time that we were there enjoying ourselves, I call Leon and take him to our room. There I hand him a small box. He looks at it curiously and asks:
- What is it?
- Open it!
He looks, still curious, and pulls open the ribbons. When he sees one foot of each little shoe, one red and one white, his eyes cloud over.
- Is it what I think it is? - he asks, stunned.
- Yes, I'm pregnant!
Then he kneels down and kisses my belly, and begins to cry with emotion, making me cry too.
- My queen, why didn't you tell me before?
I stroke his hair and explain:
- I wanted to surprise you!
- And you really did, I am the happiest man in the world!
- And I am the happiest woman, for having found my Prince Charming.
When we stop kissing, he says, singing a song he had heard on the Internet:
- The love of my life is you!
- Only with you do I want to live! - I let go, and he smiles. We stayed like that, embracing, it was as if the song we had heard was playing on the spot. Deep inside, I knew it could be our hearts singing our song, and we started to dance.
Later that night, after we had made mad love listening to our songs, I take advantage of the fact that my prince is sleeping and grab a new journal that I got from my sister. I start to write in it what I wrote in the other one, but now it was very different. With that, I close my story, of a girl bruised by life who found love in the arms of her possessive CEO.
"Dear diary, today I married my first and only love!"
"Now I can say I deserve to live."
"I found out I'm going to be a mother!"
"I am pregnant with my prince!"
"And I finally found peace, happiness, and love in the arms of my possessive CEO that I so desperately wanted!"
