‘Zahir, update?’
'Forty-five minutes more.'
‘We’re in the jungle now.' I updated him. ‘Those sick bastards have a witch with them who has made sure that I won’t be able to use my magic, and I won’t be surprised if I won’t be able to use my Lycan power as well. They have come with a full-proof plan.’
‘Someone from the pack has informed them about all this, Zahir. If I survive this, I swear I will kill that. Wylder didn’t get a chance to complete his words, and all of a sudden, he started shifting into a human form where he couldn’t mind link anyone.
"Damn!" He cursed when he realized that he was badly trapped between the wolves and Arabella. He looked at Arabella, who was looking at him in silence and worry. He put her on the ground before signaling her to leave while he decided to handle them for a while.
Arabella shook her head.
"They are here for me, Ara. Leave from here or they will kill you too." He finally spoke, not caring that they might hear him.
"Then I’m ready to die with you, but I swear to the Moon Goddess that I won’t leave you alone," Arabella said, shaking her head. Tears dwelled in her eyes, but she promised that she wouldn’t cry in this situation. She intertwined her hand with his. "Let’s run together then."
"This is not the time to use your film dialogues, Ara. Leave. This is my order." Wylder said, jerking her hand away and looking around to grab something with which he was going to break those werewolves’ heads.
He broke the branch of the tree, which caused him a lot of difficulties, and watched Arabella, standing by his side. He gritted his teeth and stood in front of her, waiting for them.
He was slightly injured after jumping from the cliff, so they were just ordinary werewolves; they would need time to recover from the pain and injuries.
Throughout the time, he could feel her eyes on him, but he ignored her because he was mad at her for not leaving him alone. He sharpened one side of that branch so that it could pierce someone’s body if required.
"I like the shape of your buttock." She said this, watching his figure from the back. Wylder bit his inner cheek, trying not to smile. They were in grave danger, and she was admiring his figure.
"You've got my phone. Check whether there is a network or not; if there is, then call Caroline or drop a message at her number." Wylder spoke, remembering that he had one last option with him. Arabella quickly grabbed the phone, unlocked it in a hurry, and checked for Caroline’s number.
"The password is 0852," Wylder said, and that was when Arabella realized that she had already unlocked his phone. "Is there a network on the phone? If not, start climbing on the tree."
Arabella didn’t need to think twice about it. She wasn’t sure whether she could climb the tree or not, but she had to try because there wasn’t a network at this place. Her heart started pounding loudly when she heard the growls of the wolves; they were coming near. So she had to hurry up.
She would think later about how the hell she knew the password to the phone. She typed it as if she had practiced doing that. It was all the digits in the middle row.
She saw one of the werewolves lunging at Wylder, and he hit him with the branch as hard as he could, throwing him away. She focused on climbing. Her legs slipped a little, but she grabbed the tree tightly. She had to do it for herself and for the man who was making sure that no one would come anywhere near the tree on which she was climbing.
