"You looked sad." Hearing this, Tiara looked at her mother sharply. How the hell she always figured that out She was positive that her acting was great.
Was she a goddess?
"Still trying to recover from the rejection?" Sophia asked softly.
"Mom, not this topic."
"I hope one day you will be able to talk about it, and when you are able to do that, you will realize that you're already healed," Sophia said, to which Tiara just hummed. "I’m worried for you, Tee. You have started keeping things to yourself since that night."
"I’m fine, Mom," Tiara said, to which Sophia scoffed.
"That’s why you’re running away from me so that I can’t read your face." Sophia pointed out the way Tiara rolled her eyes.
"Dare you to roll your eyes at my words, young lady, or I will make sure that I will be in front of you to whoop your ass." Sophia scolded Tiara, at which she chuckled.
"You can’t kidnap me, Mom."
"Who said that I’m talking about kidnapping you and bringing you to Paris?" Sophia said that Tiara furrowed her brow and heard a doorbell. "Open the door."
"Don’t tell me you’re here." Tiara’s eyes widened, realizing that her mother was there. She stood up on her feet and started walking towards the door.
"Okay. I won’t tell you."
"Mom, why are you here?" She asked while still on the video call because she hated how Sophia could surpass any wall around any of her children’s hearts.
"Because it has been more than years since you visited us, Tee." Sophia raised her voice, prompting Tiara to shut her mouth. She tossed her phone on the couch, disconnecting the call. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door and saw Sophia with her luggage. It looked like she was planning to stay here for a while.
"My baby…" Sophia said, and her eyes moistened looking at Tiara after more than a year. Tiara’s situation was no different. She closed the gap between them to hug Sophia, only to get a slap on her cheek. It wasn’t a tight slap, but she couldn’t understand what the reason behind it was. "Are you not going to wish me again?"
"Oh my…" Tiara hugged Sophia tightly. "Happy birthday, Mom!"
‘Shit!! Shit! Shit! Shit! How can I forget Mom’s birthday twice in a row?' Tiara scolded herself. She always used to surprise her mother by visiting her on her birthday, no matter how busy she used stay because of her work.
"I’m sorry, Mom. I… I…" Tiara said, breaking the hug. She had no words to explain herself because she knew that this was something that she shouldn’t have forgotten. Last time, she was in mourning for Theodore, and this year, she was missing Wylder.
Fuck!
"Do you know what? Forget that I said sorry to you. Because I don’t want your forgiveness. I will fix this." Tiara said. Sophia smiled, knowing that if her daughter knew how to make mistakes, then she also knew that she had to fix them. "First, come inside." She said, grabbing Sophia’s luggage.
"Dad is not here." She looked for Brandon in shock, after all, it was his wife's birthday.
"He was out for work. So, he will be here by evening or night." Sophia responded and walked inside the suite.
"Great!! I can still plan a small party."
Sophia chuckled at her words and went straight into the kitchen to drink water. But the moment she opened the refrigerator, she was surprised to see it loaded with all these foods. She looked at Tiara suspiciously, wondering since when her daughter started handling this department. But she didn’t ask Tiara about it because she thought her habits might have changed a little.
instead of grabbing the apple juice bottle.
"Party is for youngsters. Trust me, I hate that loud music and sleeping at three or four in the morning after getting tired from attending the guest. So, please, a big NO for that."
"Family dinner?"
Sophia shook her head again. "Family dinner reminds me that all my babies aren’t with me." She said, and Tiara understood that she was talking about Liara, whom Brandon kicked out of the house and lives with.
