Chapter 50
Lolade returned back to Orile leaving Pearl in the hands of her mother after Pearl cried she wanted to stay with her.
A day after the phone call with the lady who claimed to be Lanre's girlfriend, Sewa quit her job. She and Denny planned on opening a small bar in Lagos island. They had rubbed their minds together to think of the best business and how fast they could earn from it.
They thought of how the drinks business moved well in Nigeria and especially Lagos island considering the amount of people who resided there. Today they plan on going to look for places they could buy or rent for the main time and start up their small business. They decided their bar would be called D & S bar, which meant Denyefa and Sewa bar.
Sewa thought of enrolling Pearls in a school but haven't found any. The past few days have been her worse. While inuring her pain in her chest caused by the sudden fact that Lanre wasn't single, she struggled to move forward for herself and her child. Last night Lanre called her line but she didn't answer it and blocked him instead.
She didn't know what he wanted with her but she definitely knew he doesn't feel the same way for her and she wasn't going to speak to him anymore so as to get rid of her remaining feelings for him.
Adunni went on her knees once she was in front of Lanre's parents with a beaming smile. Lanre's parent were really glad they were going to have a daughter in law as Adunni; well cultured, intelligent, beautiful and independent. "It will be well with you," Lanre's mother said to her.
"Amen ma," Adunni replied, making her way to go find Lanre in his room. Lanre travelled to his parents house in Epe for their family gatherings. Almost all families from both his mother and father side would be around. Adunni was invited by his mother and Tunji and Lanre knew not of it.
Adunni, refused to knock on the door as she wanted to surprise Lanre of her presence so she pulled the door knob and let herself in only to be surprised instead.
She gasped but her eyes didn't leave Lanre's naked body in front of her. She suddenly felt her mouth dry as she tried swallowing her spit. Lanre, who was shocked, ran to pick his towel from the bed to tie on his waist. "Gosh woman! Couldn't you knock!" He scolded in an irritated manner.
"I'm..I'm..." She found it hard to speak as the image of his manhood earlier stuck in her brain. She suddenly blushed when she thought of how their first night might be. She seriously wouldn't mind if he wanted to take her before their marriage, after all they were going to marry anyways.
"I'm sorry," Lanre muttered suddenly regretting using a harsh tone on her. Adunni blushed, her heart seemed to flutter every time he apologised to her. "It's fine." She assured him going to walk closer to him.
She was suddenly horny and she felt the need to pleasure him. Slowly and cautiously, she moved closer to him. Lanre watched her every step with a frantic expression. It wasn't until she grabbed his manhood in her hands before he realised what her aim was. "Shit!" He groaned, she awoke his inner side he was hiding.
She bit her lips as she saw the effect it had on him. "Don't!" He warned once he saw she was about to take it far. "What? Don't you want me to give you a hand job or a blow job?" She asked with a baby-ish voice while batting her eyelashes at him.
Curse women with their seductive attitude! He swore within himself, grabbing her wrist with his hands to stop her from taking anything further. "What is it? You do not want me to stop or you want me?" She asked, still holding onto his dick through the towel, her hands feeling hot from holding the dick in her hands.
"Adunni, we do not want to go there now," he said to her. "I am not complaining, am I? After all, we will get married, right?" She said confidently, making Lanre's heart sink. He didn't know how to break it to her and he was scared of hurting her feelings.
"I've..." He wanted to tell her they wouldn't marry but the look on her face made him withdraw his statement. "Adunni, we can't..." Adunni chuckled lightly.
"Are you worried they might hear us if you take me here? Do not worry, I do not make loud noises. My moans will be like a solemn song in your heart," she whispered. "Lanre I love you." That was all it took for Lanre to almost faint.
She already loved him when he only considered her a nice lady and not even a friend. She already had plans for them and all he could think about was Sewa who destroyed his heart. "Adunni, you do not know what you want neither do you know what you feel," He said to her.
"I know you do not love me but do not worry, I am yours and with time you will love me. You do not know how you make my heart beat, everytime I look at you, all I see is happiness in me. You make me love love and I do not mind waiting for you," She said to him, her eyes not leaving his all the while she spoke.
Lanre heart sank, Sewa never for once said all of this to him. In fact all the while they were in a relationship it was him putting so much effort so he could have her attention completely and here a woman who had the qualities he wanted confessed to him and he felt nothing for her other than guilt.
"It seems it's a lot to take in, I will let you go for now, but I must get a kiss from you," she said to him. She raised her legs up a bit and claimed his lips before letting go of his manhood. "See you later sweetheart," She said to him before leaving the room.
Lanre inhaled and exhaled, he facepalmed himself as he was so confused at the situation. Sewa what have you done to me!
Lanre dialed Sewa's number and for the umpteenth time he couldn't go through. He began to worry. She had promised to check on him but didn't and for the past few days he couldn't reach out to her. He fought with his inner mind not to go to her place but he couldn't stop himself so he drove to Lagos island.
While he drove, he wondered why he couldn't reach her. He thought of crazy scenes where she was sick or probably in the hospital or maybe something even worse happened to her. Lanre reached Sewa's street at five pm in the evening. He parked his car at a distance before using his legs to walk to her street. His heart was heavy as he imagined the worst. Somehow he felt something was going to happen yet he kept walking.
From a distance, he finally saw Sewa and he heaved a deep sigh. She looked fine and okay and she was in front of a shop where they sold biscuits and drinks. A smile crept into his face as he walked closer to her, just as he got closer, he noticed a small girl beside her.
The girl tugged Sewa's cloth and see spoke, "Mummy buy me lollipop too," she voiced out. Lanre would have taken the girl to be any random child but the face of the little girl was the same as Sewa. She was her exact carbon copy.
"Your daughter is beautiful and she looks very much like you, how old is she?" The seller asked Sewa. Sewa smiled, "She will be three years old soon."
Sewa bent down a bit so she could carry the girl in her arms. She pinches the bridge of Pearl's nose, "You just like too much junk!" She chuckled. Lanre chest tightened, he felt as if his insides were closing up.
His heart beat rapidly as he watched the little girl and Sewa. He couldn't believe Sewa had a child and it could be for one of those men she slept with. He felt betrayed and hurt. He wondered who the child's father could be, his eyes welled up in tears as he felt numb in his legs.
He stood for some seconds watching Sewa and the girl interacting with one another. It was as if the pain he felt three years ago was back again and he couldn't control his anger. He turned around and walked towards his car with his fist clenched.
He wanted to scream and shout that he hated her but he couldn't. He wondered why he was still loving her knowing well she has a child for another man who wasn't him. He could finally understand why she looked different compared to before. He could finally understand why she looked lean and unkept. She was a mother and although he wasn't sure, he felt she had left her prostitution lifestyle behind.
He recalled their last words to each other three years ago and he hit the horn on his car hard in anger. I love you Ola!
