Chapter 21 A deadly fight

" Dare to say that again, kiddo?" John started; the only thing that separated between both of them was me who stood in between trying to prevent their clash as much as possible.

" Aren't I right though... Uhm, if I have to describe your life Johnnie, I would say that it is just miserable." Shawn retorted.

It seems that Gerald did not only carry out a background check on me but on all those around me as well. Shawn was playing dirty when he mentioned John's weakness, he did not say it directly but he clearly was talking about his wife who left him taking his kids along with her as she prevented him from ever meeting with him again.

John was so absorbed in fighting that he did not care much about his family, when he came to realize who is more important it was just too late. He lost his sole family because of his own mistakes. He had always regretted doing so.

" That is enough, Shawn. I said let’s go." I repeated in an angry tone now.

" I can't see anyone but an insecure damaged boy in front of me. You speak mostly with your money; if you wanted to humiliate me don't you think you should have done it on your own. Why ask someone to do it for you?" John spat out pointing to the fact that this information was most probably passed to Shawn by an investigator or a special detective.

" I can also speak the language you like if you want," Shawn said ignoring me.

This was getting out of hand; I do not want them to fight. It is true Shawn told me he was personally trained from a young age but still, John was more experienced when it comes to real-life street fights. I will not be able to stop john if he agreed though, after all, Shawn was mistaken to spit all this venom to their faces.

" That is what I am talking about... Let's speak with our fists, choose the place you want." John clarified.

" Here is alright, the place is dirty but it is still worth it to humiliate you in front of the perfect audience. Let your fans watch you getting your ass beaten," Shawn growled dangerously earning a competitive glare from John's side.

I backed away realizing that I won't be able to stop both of them, I looked at Tony who clearly didn't want to get involved with Shawn. He knew very well what powerful men are able to do. On the other hand, John just did not have anything to lose so he did not give a shit about the whole thing.

John headed towards Veko who was responsible for any fight that takes place in the ring, he asked him to empty it, as he would be fighting with Shawn. Shawn was a new face in the ring and everyone was staring his way before the fight even starts. I glanced at Shawn and he looked very confident, I do not know why he followed me nor why was he mad picking up a fight with them out of nowhere.

" You won't wish me luck?" Shawn asked with his back facing me, he was rolling his knuckles with a wrap preparing to step into the ring.

" What you did was wrong, I can't take your side," I clarified coldly. He did not turn around to look at me and continued what he was doing as if he did not want to show that he was fazed by my claim.

" Ladiies and gentlmennn... Today I will have the honor to host a second match for the day with our most powerful fighter everrrr... The beasttttttttttt," The host yelled his throat out, his voice was so loud and it resulted in adrenaline to run through the audience veins. Not even a single man was not cheering and rooting for John.

" What is really surprising, dear clients issss... The one who is facing him is a nameless player, is he dumb? or perhaps... A hidden genius??? Let us see for ourselves." The host continued.

Shawn refused to announce his name; he obviously didn't know the whole world to know about where he was or what he did the next day. The host signed them to start the fight.

John was so quick and I could tell that Shawn is facing a hard time trying to pick up his pace; he was playing defensive while John was on attack mode.

" His fighting style is unique..." Tony commented.

" It is Maui Thai, notorious for its substantial use of elbow and knee strikes," I pointed out.

John's fighting style was not that much different, it is Jiujutsu one of the most well-known martial arts in the world, and both of them were categorized with the top ten deadliest fighting styles worldwide.

The fight was one of a kind, Shawn was fighting on almost equal grounds with John and that was a first, the crowd went from all sheering to ultimate silent even the host stopped commenting, a single move would end such a fight so everyone was anticipating the ending move passionately.

Shawn started getting tired and John took advantage, he closed the distance trying to aim for his neck but Shawn dodged it at the last second as he tried to knock him out using a superman punch. Thankfully, it did not reach John as he dashed backward. It has been five minutes now, their breathing got heavier and their pace got slower.

John flew in the air as he threw a flying kick to Shawn's neck and it landed on his chest, instead of backing away from the hit's intensity, he held John's foot swiftly and pulled him closer as he jumped kneeing his jaw.

They both fell from the air to the ground; John was spitting blood from his mouth, as he clenched his jaw not able to get up. Shawn stood up, he was moving towards John, and he suddenly stopped midway as he was having difficulty breathing.

After a few seconds of gasping for air, he fell unconscious. Both of them were unable to get up. I ran quickly in their direction announcing the end of the fight.

Eventually, there was no winner and no loser; it was a tie. The audience was obviously disappointed with the result but they surely witnessed a very good fight that they will not get to watch for a while.
