CHAPTER 87
Damien's POV
Dust is all that is left.
I see Lisa leaving my life forever as I watch the automobile scream away at a high rate of speed.
"Shit!" I scream and gasp, pumping my fist into the air.
Why did I not anticipate her return? I never even considered that she may visit the estate. I didn't expect her to be there at all.
Maybe I could have persuaded her if I had only arrived sooner before she left the home.
Gabriel was directed home by me. He is a terrific buddy, as shown by the fact that he left his pregnant wife at home alone to help me with my wife's disappearance since we have no clue how it happened.
I now see my presumptions were incorrect. She wasn't taken hostage. She fled on her own because she was unable to cope with the reality that she was carrying my kid.
"F**k!" I moan and crouch to the ground while I consider my options.
And then it clicks. I need to take action rather than just see the taxi go off into the distance.
If I want to know precisely where she is going, I should follow the taxi. I quickly turn back toward the house, but shockingly, my whole body is trembling terribly.
Is this motivated by wrath or fear? I am clueless.
I tell myself that I can't drive in this condition. This intense sensation threatens to force me to lose control of the wheels.
I yell as I scurry through the gate. "Maurice, Andrew, Jude, and Daniel!"
I gesture at Jude as they all hurry to leave. "Follow the taxi that arrived here to pick up Lisa. Determine its direction. Go now!" I provide instructions in a firm manner.
He bows before sprinting to the vehicle. He always carries his automobile keys in his pocket. We move out of the way so he can exit the gate as I watch him get in, turn on the vehicle, and depart.
I watch him go before addressing the other guards.
"Daniel, I need you to visit Lisa's grandmother and ask if anybody has seen her this evening or if she is present. Do not speak if she is not present; just go back.
He bows before taking off.
I shout to the others. I said, "Follow me!"
Lisa must have returned home to get her belongings. She plans to leave the country, and I won't let her if her international passport and visa are absent.
The other two guards follow me at the same speed as I hurriedly enter the home while desperately attempting to calm my anxieties.
If Lisa had been present, Gabriel would have been so shocked. When we arrived at her Grandma's house, she wasn't there. Although I am aware that sending Daniel there could be ineffective, I still want to be certain.
I ascend the stairs three at a time, shivering less and my heart hammering madly in my ribs.
This is underhandled by me.
Both Lisa and the child will be safe. Finding out where she is going will be my only remaining task.
Whatever it takes, I'll get to her.
I slam open the door to my bedroom and run inside. Before I left for work that morning, she had thrown the international passport and visa in the closet after we had returned from our vacation to Italy.
Even after we got into a quarrel and she stormed out in rage, the visa and other vital papers were still in the closet.
If it's gone, that confirms my assertion that I'm correct. Lisa is leaving the United States.
When I get to the closet, it is empty. Not even a pin is there in this.
Along with her passport, visa, and other crucial papers she stored here, all of her outfits have vanished.
I turn to look at the shoes, and they are also empty. Not a single shoe is present. The only thing on the dresser is my lotion. My fragrance is also gone.
"No!" The truth of what is occurring knocks me backward with a downpour-like impact. "No!"
I make my way back to the closet to double-check. To make sure I'm not fantasizing and that this is really happening.
What is Lisa doing, and why? She has no idea whether my opinions on having children have evolved or not. She left without giving me a chance to speak. She didn't give me an opportunity to make up for my mistakes.
"Dammit!" I scream again, striking the closet with my palm.
I recognize Maurice's voice as "Boss." When I quickly turned around, he and Andrew were looking at me with worried expressions on their faces.
Even worse, I didn't notice they entered after me.
I gather myself and approach them while keeping my head down. To get my phone, I reach inside the pocket of my jeans.
I turn around once more and look around the room to see if she left a message or anything, but nothing is there. The glass cup of wine I left last night before leaving the home is still there, full to the brim.
I call a number, and it rings a few times before a serene voice answers. "Boss?"
Try to find Lisa's phone number. She is leaving the country. Discover her destination as quickly as you can. I make a direct statement.
Yes, boss. I'll take care of it right immediately," he replies, and I end the conversation.
Maurice and Andrew don't need to be here. The next course of action will be decided after Fred learns where she is headed.
"You two may go at this time; if I need anything more, I will phone you. Simply keep an eye out for her in case she returns to the home.
Okay, boss.
When I think of anything, I tell them to wait before leaving. Why did you let her out, I ask? Why wasn't she stopped from leaving?
They look at each other but remain silent.
Lisa had already made up her mind to go. They would be unable to prevent her from departing.
"You may leave!" I say, turning away from them. When they leave my room, I can hear the door opening and closing.
I start to pace the room in anticipation of my phone calling at any second to let me know where Fred is heading, but it doesn't.
The room becomes very silent, and I can almost hear my heartbeat.
I take my phone off the couch and go to the door when I can't take it any longer.
I must go. I should keep looking since she could still be hiding out someplace. She must have been so certain that I wasn't present since she made such an appearance and had our room cleaned out of all of her possessions.
The moment the gate opens, I dash downstairs and leave the home while keeping the vehicle keys I took out last night in my pocket.
I wait with interest written all over me rather than running to my vehicle to go.
When the automobile pulls up, I recognize Jude. I dash over to the automobile as it stops dead in its tracks.
He exits the vehicle and bows. "What happened?" you ask.
I now feel afraid because I think that something must have occurred for him to return so quickly. What took place? Has she been in a collision? Will destiny repeat itself?
"Jude, what just happened?!" My heart skips a beat as I yell at him.
To my surprise, he says, "She's at the airport. I was correct the whole time. She is leaving the country. That explains why nothing is present.
I ask him, "Where is she going?"
He says, "She's going to Italy."
"What?!" I scream out loud in shock.
Italy? She's returning to Italy, right? Romeo, wherever in Italy?
I told him to get in the automobile I drove in a few minutes ago without saying anything to him beforehand. "Enter the vehicle. Let's travel there.
I want my wife's return.
also, my kid.
