Chapter 3

Bruno

I was very tired and couldn't wait to get to my apartment and get a few hours' sleep. I must just be getting old. I was here looking at the confusion at Guarulhos airport with people coming in and out of São Paulo.

I was out here waiting for my driver to arrive and it doesn't take long and I see my car arriving and soon it stops and my driver, called Sandro, gets out of it.

'Mr Bruno, whenever you want we can go.' — This is my driver.

- Come on, Sandro! — I agree and get in the car. I just arrived in São Paulo and I couldn't wait to eat something homemade. Sandro opens the door for me and I go in and then he closes it and then we're heading to my apartment.

— Sir, how was the trip? he asks me.

— My friend, tiring as ever and I couldn't wait to get home. I tell him he laughs.

— You need a vacation. — He tells me and I agree.

“It's a shame no one thinks I need it. I say in frustration.

"Didn't you get anyone to help you?" — Sandro refers to the fact that I don't have a competent assistant to help me with matters.

— So far nothing, each one that is hired doesn't last even a week.

- Is not strange? —Sandro suddenly asks me.

- What? – I ask curiously.

"Sir, I'm sorry for what I'm going to tell you. – He says a little apprehensively.

- You can speak Sandro! — I ask him and I even feel better to hear what he was saying.

“Sir, I'm sorry! - He says pausing and continues talking: - Something else must be going wrong, so that no assistant stops at work.

- You're right! I hadn't thought of that! “I agree and keep trying to remember how long an assistant lasted.

— So sir, as you are well known in the business even of fashion and among other branches. – He comments.

- It is true! I pause and keep saying, “The weirdest thing about the ads we put out are lingerie fashion and women like that.

— I know even my wife likes the lingerie you guys produce! - He laughs and is embarrassed by what he said and says: - I'm sorry sir! – Sandro says.

- You're welcome! Sandro Angelica is right, if you like our models, you can tell her that there will be a line of new models and I want to know her opinion about it! — I sincerely ask I would really like to know the opinion on the new product and I keep saying, — Now the question is what should I do about it?

'You must rest first and then you will sort it out!'

— Yes, you're right, Sandro!- I agree and continue to say: —' As soon as I get some sleep, I'll solve this soon.

— That, sir, rest! He says agreeing with me. Soon I lean back in the car seat and end up sleeping and my sleep was dreamless.

Half an hour later...

- Sir! “I hear him call me. And I'm waking up from a heavy sleep. I felt like my eyes were almost closing again I was so tired. — Lord, wake up!

- Sorry! — I speak without grace and keep saying: — Thank you, Sandro! I need to get out of this car soon or I end up dozing again.

— No problem, you are really tired. - He says and I thank him again and he comes to my side and we wait for the elevator to arrive and when it arrives we get in them and go to my floor.

When we arrive in front of my apartment, the door opens and I find myself face to face with no one else and none other than my mother. I look at Sandro and he shrugs as if to say it wasn't his fault that she was there waiting for me.

“Oh my son come in, he is so haggard and so thin. — She says and I look again at Sandro and I roll my eyes and ask for patience to put up with Miss Perola.

"Mother, what are you doing here?" – I ask curiously.

— My son, I missed you so much! - She says all happy and I without realizing I let out a groan of frustration I loved my mother but she always showed up and most of the time it was to know when I would meet a good woman and also when I would visit her and it had been a month since I didn't go to your house.

My mother decided to live in the interior of São Paulo, along with my father and they always said that the place they lived was always a paradise and I must agree with that.

— Mom, I was missing you too, but let's face it, what are you doing here, really? I question her and she just rolls her eyes knowing exactly what she wanted to know.

"Like I said, I missed you so much!" — She says and continues: — And you haven't visited me in a long time and it seems you don't know that saying if Mohammed doesn't go to the mountain, the mountain goes to Mohammed.

"Mom, I'm really sorry!" But these days are being very busy! — I comment without humor.

— I know that, my son! - She says opening a beautiful smile that my father said was just seeing her for the first smiling while reading a book he fell completely in love with her.

— And where's Dad? – I ask curiously.

— It's not that he decided to make a cake for you in the kitchen! “She's barely finished speaking when my father appears and there was a man I admired most in the world.

My father was now retired and had always been very fond of writing poetry and verses. But his profession was an accountant and look how great he was in doing my accounting.

— Well, well, who decided to get home! — My father Arthur plays with me as usual and I laugh and give him a hug. He was really missing them both. And soon I feel my mother's arms hugging me and oddly enough I felt at peace to see them so close to me.

When we parted I noticed that my mother was wiping her eyes, she is very emotional. My mother was always like that, she was such a kind and caring woman and also very loving and I loved her very much.

— How are you, father? — Greeting him.

"I'm fine and we miss our son!" He also catches my eye and I laugh.

— As I was saying, Mom, I didn't have time to visit you. - I answer still awkwardly.

- Calm down my son, we understand that you've been a bit rushed because of these crazy events.

- Dad, if it was just these events, everything would be fine! – I comment tiredly.

“You don't want to go take a shower first, son! — My mother speaks.

"Yes, I do, and I'll be right back for coffee with you." I say and give each of them a kiss and head towards my room. And when I get there I see that my suitcase was already there and I laugh. Sandro came and brought the suitcase and I take my cell phone from my pocket and call him and he answers quickly:

— Ready sir!

“Sandro didn't need to bring my suitcase to my room. - I talk.

"Lord, it's my duty!" - He says.

- It is not! Next time, man, let me bring the suitcase to the bedroom. — The warning.

“Sir, it's no bother. - He says.

- I know that is not. — I answer and say: — Now go home and don't show up for me until tomorrow!

"Sir, your parents are here!" - He told me.

- I know that! And don't worry they'll sleep over here! - I replied reassuringly.

'Are you sure?' – He asks a little apprehensively.

— Yes, I have, go rest that tomorrow I have to go to the company.

"Okay, whatever you want!" — He says and I thank him and I go to the bathroom where I take off my clothes and put them in the basket my mother gave me as a gift to put the dirty clothes. I turn on the shower and stand inside letting the water fall over my shoulders wanting all the stress to go away which was a hard

thing to do.
