Chapter 25 New Beginnings - Part 1

Maria's ( P. O. V. )

Two months later

It's been a few months and Isabella's still mad at me for hiding the truth from her, I thought she would forget about it and forgive me, but she has not talked to me every since she found out the truth.

Her relationship with Jason has grown immensely, she only talks to him, he picks her up from school and there'll go out with each other every weekend.

These past two months have been really hard on me, I found out some news about my health. I haven't told Jason yet, well because I'm afraid he wouldn't believe me, but I'll tell him the important news, very soon.

I hope...

I've never felt this hurt before, my loving relationship with Isabella is now broken, it's dead all thanks to my lies, this is all my fault, why didn't I just put my selfishness aside and focus on my daughters needs.

I'm so selfish, I'm a bad mother, the worst, my only daughter hates me, I lied to her about her father, I'm a disgrace to all the loving Latina mothers out there. I failed has a daughter, a friend and a mother, I'm a failure, a big fat failure.

"Isabella, breakfast is ready, come eat." I called out to my daughter, hoping for the first time in two months she would listen to me, or at least talk to me.

"Isabella, princess, breakfast is ready, come eat with daddy." Jason called out to Isabella taking a sit, I stood holding two plates, waiting to see who Isabella would respond too, even though it sounds childish, I don't care, I wanna know if she's still mad at me.

She walked out of her room in here casual outfit, a pink shirt and black jeans.

"Good morning daddy, thanks for informing me that breakfast is ready." she greeted her father and kissed his cheek.

I stood watching her serve her dad and hearing they conversation about the  adventures they experienced yesterday. I lost my appetite so I just left the plates on the table and went to my room, I entered my room and sat on my bed tears immediately streaming down my face.

I miss my mom so much, I miss her warm hugs, her amazing advises, I miss her. I wish everything was different, I wish I was never born, I wish I stayed in Mexico, I just wish my life would be different.

The door to my room was pushed open and I quickly wiped my tears.

"I just came to inform you that Isabella and I are going to the mall, so you have the whole house to your self, enjoy." he informed me and closed the door behind him, I didn't even bother to look at his face, I can't be angry at him I love him, we still sleep together very night even though I'm mad at him for not trying to help Isabella for give me.

I can't resist his touch, his kisses, his caresses, the way he knows my weakness, call me a fool, a pushover, a lovestruck fool, I don't care, I love that man, with all of my heart and the news I'll disclose to him will prove our love for each other is real.

My love for him is blind, I know but what can I do, we argue during the day but make love during the night, that's how our relationship is, I don't think we're even "Friends With Benefits" I bet.

I walked to my bathroom and washed my face, removing all the makeup I had, I don't feel beautiful so why should I pretend I feel beautiful, I put on a shirt and sweatpants and went to the living room. I took the remote and flipped though the channels, I don't wanna watch TV, so I just switch the TV off and just sat on the couch staring at the ceiling.

The door bell rang, I stood up from the couch and lazily walked towards the front down, I opened the door Carla, Ben and Mrs Antonia are standing at my front door with a serious expression on they faces.

"Hey, guys what are you all doing here, I don't remember calling y'all here, oh did Jason call y'all here, yeah, maybe he did, he doesn't tell me anything he does anywhere, so I'm not gonna get mad, come in." I rambled.

They smiled at me walking into my house and took a sit down on my couch and chairs, I closed the door and turned my entire body towards them.

"What should I offer y'all, what would -" I was interrupted by Mrs Antonia.

"We don't want any refreshments, we just want to see Isabella and Jason." she explained her serious expression replacing the warm smile she once had.

"Uh, okay, but well, Jason and Isabella went to the mall, they didn't tell me when they'll be back, they don't tell me anything anyway." I replied whispering the last sentence.

"We all heard that Maria and why did they leave you alone here, isn't going to the mall a Mother and daughter thing. not tryna' be stereotypical but I just..." Carla spoke with her brows furrowed.

I took a deep breath. "I'm just so tired of it all that I could actually kill myself, Isabella is mad at me because she found out I lied to her about her father, two months ago after her school concert, she over heard Jason and I's conversation and found out that Jason's her father and since then she hasn't spoke to me, she only speaks to Jason, that's why they always out together." I confessed feeling exhausted about this whole situation.

"Woah! But aren't you supposed to be at work?" Carla asked.

"Well, he gave all the employees a month off of work, so that's including me." I replied.

"Why do you want to see Jason and Isabella?" I asked.

"Well, his telling everyone around that Isabella's his daughter, so we just wanted to confirm if Isabella's father is actually Jason." Mrs Antonia replied.

"Maria have you eaten or at least slept?" Ben questioned, with concern evident in his voice.

I turned my gaze to him."Uh, don't worry, I'm fine, I just... I don't feel like eating or sleeping these days." I confessed with all honesty.

"Maria, you the strongest women I know you can't let this defeat you." Carla stated, encouragingly.

"Ha! I'm not strong, if I were strong I wouldn't be in this situation right now, my life has went downhill after Jason and I separated everything just went south, my life's just a big mess." I lamented, trying my hardest to keep the tears at bay.

"You are strong, if you weren't strong, you wouldn't have been able to raise Isabella so well, you wouldn't have started a new life here all by yourself." Carla spoke sincerely.

"You know I was just -" I was interrupted by the door opening and I turned around to see Jason and Isabella with big shopping bags, entering the house.

"Aunt Carla, Uncle Ben and Mrs Antonia! you're here." Isabella called out happily with a bright smile on her face.

I looked at Jason carrying bags of clothes I presume, he placed the bags on the kitchen counter, he walked over to Ben and they share a brotherly hug.

I looked at Isabella talking to Carla and Mrs Antonia, I don't wanna stay here and just be ignored.

So I stood up to leave but was stopped by Ben, he held my hand to stop me, I turned to look at him tears blurring my vision, I'm so tired of all this, even though I know I have to be strong for ...

Ben shook his head at me.

"Ben, why are you holding Maria's hand, what's going on between you two?" Jason asked gritting his teeth.

I rolled my eyes, his so possessive it's annoying.

"Jason, please not right now." I stated.

"Jason, please nothing, what's going on between you two?" he questioned again, this time his voice raising an inch, he walked towards me and pulled my hand away from Ben's grip.

"Daddy, what's wrong why are you yelling?" Isabella asked, standing next to her father.

"Nothings wrong, princess, don't worry." I replied to Isabella caressing her cheek.

"Don't touch me and I was asking my father not you." she rudely declared, pushing my hand away from her face with a disgusted expression.

I stared at her dumbfounded, I can't believe she actually spoke to me like that.

"Isabella, how dare you speak to your mother like that, you so rude, apologize, now." Mrs Antonia scolded Isabella.

I'm at a loss for words, all I can do is let the tears fall, I don't want to say anything because, I know this was my fault, she's acting this way because of me, no one else.

"No, I won't she's a bad person, she lied to me about my dad, I'm not gonna apologize, no." she replied folding her arms over her chest.

I stared at her through my blurry eyes, I feel a hand on my back.

I turned around to see Carla rubbing my back soothingly.

"Isabella, she's your mother, how can you say that about your own mother, she gave birth to you!!" Mrs Antonia yelled at her.

"Mrs Antonia, p-please don't scold her, it's all my fault I shouldn't have lied to her, I deserve all this, please I don't want any arguing, please." I intervened and walked towards my bedroom.

"Maria, you not going anywhere until we resolve this, because I has a lawyer and a human being this is unfair, I want everyone to sit down." Ben instructed, I don't wanna speak or say anything so I followed his instruction, I sat down in a chair next to Carla's.

"Isabella, look at me, so I wanna tell you the whole truth about what happened, okay can I." Ben asked Isabella with a serious expression on his face.

"Yes, you can Uncle Ben." she replied her head on Jason's lap.

I miss when she used to sit on my lap and I used to give her a head massage, just like my mom used to do to me.

"Okay, so you angry because your mom hid the truth about Jason being your father, how old are you?" Ben asked Isabella.

"6 years old, why Uncle?" she replied her brow furrowed in confusion.

I'm also confused, Ben knows how old Isabella is.

"Okay, you 6 years old and she's 26 years old, you and her are 20 years apart, she's your mother you have no right to judge her, your not God, I thought you were a very respectable little girl but after seeing how you treated your mom today, I'm so disappointed in you, you have no idea how much your mom has suffered so you could live, so you could have what she didn't have when she was little, she wasn't born in the United States, she was born in Mexico, you are a Mexican American girl, do you know that your mom wanted to be a Lawyer but she couldn't." Ben explained, staring at Isabella straight in the eye.

I felt the tears falling down my cheeks, I don't want Isabella to hear any of this, I don't want this, Oh God, I feel so weak, I laid my hand on my head has I felt dizziness take over.

"Why? Uncle." I heard Isabella ask her uncle.

"Because of you, she was pregnant with you so she couldn't continue with her studies as a lawyer, she had to come here, to a place she didn't know, she had to start all over for you, she didn't have much money, her parents disowned her because she was pregnant, they throw her out of her childhood home, she came here because of you, she had to live in the streets because she didn't have any where to live, she got two jobs in one work place so that she could provide for you, she did her best to get all your necessities ready before you were born and she gave birth to you on November alone no one there to comfort her, do you know how painful it is to give birth to a baby, she had to suffer all that pain without anyone there to support her, no one to encourage her and where was your dad? he was in LA with the women he cheated on your mom with, they were having a baby you were gonna have a brother or sister, that's why your mom left your dad because he cheated on her, she lost everything because she was pregnant with you, she lost her parents, the career she was going to pursue, she lost the love of her life to provide you a better life in the cost of her own." Ben narrated, I looked at Isabella, they were tears streaming down her face, I didn't want her to know about Jason's infidelity, I wanted her to think her dad is a hero, I didn't want her to hear this.

I stood up and slowly walked towards Isabella, I stretched my hand out to her but dizziness took over again and the room started spinning, I laid my hands on my head again and everything went dark and I fall to the ground.

Jason's ( P. O. V. )

"Mummy! Mummy!" Isabella yelled while the ladies gasped, I immediately carried Maria in my arms bridal style, I carried her to the couch the ladies stood up so I could lay her down, Mrs Antonia brought water and we sprinkled it on her face, I watched her slowly move her head and open her eyes.

Maria's ( P. O. V. )

I slowly opened my eyes and my eyes landed on Jason.

"Are you okay?" he asked concern written all over his face.

I simply nodded my head in response and I sat up from the couch, I looked at Isabella, tears were streaming down her face, she slowly walked towards the couch.

"Please don't cry, princess." I whispered softly but she could hear me.

She sat next to be and wiped my tears and I did the same to her teary face.

"Mummy I'm really sorry, please forgive me, I was really rude to you, I misjudged you, I'm so sorry, mummy, it's all my fault that you fainted, it's all my fault that my grandparents disowned you, it's all my fault that you couldn't pursue the career you wanted, I ruined your life mummy, I'm so sorry." Isabella spoke the tears still falling down her cheeks.

"No, no, princess don't ever say that, you are the best thing that ever happened to me, I'm so blessed to have you in my life, you are a product of the love Jason and I share, you are the most important person in my entire life, I love you so much princess, never doubt the love I have for you princess and you have nothing to apologize for I should be the one to ask for your forgiveness, please forgive me for not telling you the truth, I'm so sorry for not telling you the truth." I apologised, tears still streaming down my face while I caressed Isabella's cheek.

"Mummy, I forgive you, I'm no longer angry at you, I promise, I'm only angry at my father, for cheating on you " she remarked, turning to look at Jason.

"No, please don't be angry at him, he didn't do anything to hurt me, we found out that he didn't really cheat on me, the lady lied to him, I don't want you to be angry at anyone, I want you Jason and I to be a happy family." I responded to her remark against Jason.

I glanced at Jason and he had a small smile on his face, he mouthed a small thank you, I simply nodded my head in response, I didn't do it for him I did it for... I have to tell them the truth, right now.

"I'm so glad you two are together again." Carla replied.

"So, Isabella do you accept your Mom and dad to be together?" Ben asked.

"Yes, I do, I would love for my mommy and daddy to get married just like Melissa's parents." she replied with a big smile on her face.

"Well then, I have good news for you two love birds." Ben began.

I need to tell them the important news now, I can't hold it in anymore. "Wait Ben, before you continue, I have something important to say, it concerns Jason and I, I've been meaning to tell you all but I was afraid, but I can't hold it anymore." I confessed.

"Concerning you and I, what are you talking about Maria?" Jason asked walking towards me, he grabbed my hands and brought me to my feet.

"Jason, uh, I'm-m, Jason I'm- m." I stammered trying my hardest to reveal the truth to him but the way his staring at me, is just so intimidating.

"Maria, tell me what is it, your what..." he asked he laid a hand on my shoulder.

"Maria tell us what's the important news you want to tell us and Jason?" Mrs Antonia questioned.

"Uh! I'm-m preg-pregnant." I confessed my head hung low.

"What!" Jason yelled his hands dropping from my shoulders.

"Jason I'm pregnant." I repeated.

I looked up at him, he had a shocked expression on his face.

"Maria, are you really..." he trailed off, his hand reaching out to my belly, he slowly laid his shaky hand on my stomach.

Tears welled up in his eyes. "yes I'm pregnant, Jason." I replied placing my hand over his.

He sighed. "I lived six years thinking I was sterile but, you pregnant, Maria I can't believe it, I'm going to be a father again." he declared happily.

"Yes, my love you going to he a father again." I spoke tears streaming down my face.

He wrapped his arms around me in a big hug and I hugged him back.

"I love you princess, I love you so much." he confessed pulling away from our embrace.

"I love you too Jason." I replied he leaned in and crashed his lips with mine in a slow but passionate kiss, I love him so much, even after all the ups and downs we had here we are together and I'm pregnant again, well played universe.

Well played....

"Get a room you two!" I heard them all yell, Jason and I pulled away from our kiss.

"We'll finish this later on, I promise princess." he whispered in my ear licking my earlobe.

"Mummy and daddy are having another baby, yay! Yay!" Isabella yelled happily jumping up and down.

We turned to look at our jumping Jack of a daughter, Jason and I both laughed.

"Okay, well I also have some important news for the parents to be." Ben cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.

"More news, wow, today's our lucky day huh!" Jason stated, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind, his fingers drawing circles around my belly button.

"Well Jason, what I'm about to reveal to you will shock you." Ben spoke taking a sit next to Isabella on the couch, at least she's sited and no longer jumping like a mad women.

"Well tells us then, stop beating around the bush." I spoke impatiently.

"Calm down, princess, I don't want you worked up, you pregnant remember." he whispered softly in my ear, I hummed a response and he chuckled.

"Okay, well remember when you two got married drunkenly, six years ago in Las Vegas." he began.

"Yes, we do." Jason and I both replied at the same time, I turned my head to look at him, he pecked my lips and I smiled, his head is laid at the crook of my neck.

"Well, your marriage was legal, meaning under the eyes of the law, you two are a legally married couple." Ben announced, with a smile on his face.

I turned my head to look at Jason."what!!!!" we both yelled into each others faces.

"Well this is your lucky day, you just found out that Maria's pregnant then you find out that you're legally married, Wow! what a day huh!" Carla remarked, shaking her head in disbelief.

"So we're married, I'm mean, we're still married?" Jason questioned.

"Yes, Buddy, you two are a married couple." he replied.

"Yay! my Mom and dad are married my wish came true, yay!" Isabella yelled jumping up and down happily.

"I can't believe it, babe, we married and going to have a baby." Jason pointed out, turning his face to look at me.

"But Jason I thought you were sterile, how's Maria pregnant?" Ben asked his brow furrowed.

"I don't know dude." Jason replied shaking his head, what the heck, he doesn't know how I got pregnant.

"You don't know how I got pregnant, how dare you say that, Jason, I'll tell you how you impregnated me, you -" I'm interrupted by him placing his hand over my mouth.

"Maria, I didn't mean it that way." he replied with a smile on his face, he thinks this is funny.

I heard a giggle and I turned to glance at Carla, Isabella and Mrs Antonia giggle behind the couch.

"Ugh!" I growled angrily, I don't know why I feel so angry.

"Jason don't mind her, it's her pregnancy hormones." Mrs Antonia responded.

I placed my hand on my belly, I'm so glad everyone knows it was hard hiding it from them.

"Maria, how did you find out you are pregnant?" Jason asked.

"Well uh, I took two pregnancy test and they both came out positive, I was feeling nauseous for four months so that's why I went to go buy the tests." I explained.

"Four months, I need to take you to the doctor, we need to know how far along you are and the baby's condition." Jason suggested, taking me by the hand.

"Jason, wait." I tried freeing my hand from his grip.

"No, we have to find out about our baby, we're going to the hospital and I'm not taking no for an answer, is that understood." he spoke sternly.

"Yes." I replied.

"That's my girl, bye y'all, we'll be back soon, please take care of my princess." Jason remarked.

I opened the door. "bye, princess." we both waved at our daughter.

"Bye, mummy and daddy." she waved back, we walked out of my house and closed the door behind us.

We walked to his car and he unlocked the doors with his car keys, he opened the door for me and I stepped inside and thanked him.

As soon has he entered the car he started driving not wasting any time whatsoever.

"Why didn't you ask Carla to be the one to-" he cut me off, I think he already knew what I was going to say.

"Because, I thought she's on her day off and I don't wanna ruin it, you don't have to worry, I got a very good doctor in mind that will do your ultrasound, I can't wait to see my baby through the machine." he explained happily.

"Well okay, but you do know that my baby is still a seed right." I questioned.

He side glanced me. "why do you always have to burst my bubble." he remarked.

I laughed. "you're so melodramatic." I stated.

"I'm not gonna even respond to that." he responded.

I laughed again and soon he joined me in my fit of laughter.

I love this man so much... It sometimes hurts....

20 minutes later

"Mr and Mrs Mendez." I heard our names been called and Jason and I both lifted our heads from our phones, we reached the hospital ten minutes ago and they told us to wait for our names to be called.

Jason and I both stood up and walked towards the nurse in front of a door.

"That's us." Jason replied.

"Okay, y'all may go in." she responded.

We both nodded our heads in response, we walked inside the room the nurse was standing in front of.

Jason knocked on the door. "come in." we heard a faint voice speak, I opened the door.

"Why do I feel so nervous?" Jason whispered in my ear.

I shrugged my shoulders and entered the room.

"Hello Mr and Mrs Mendez, have a sit." doctor Peters spoke sweetly, we sat down on the chairs provided in front of her desk.

"Hello Dr Peters, nice to meet you." I stretched my hand forward towards hers and she shook it and also shook Jason's hand.

"Nice to meet you two." she replied politly.

"So doctor, we here for an ultrasound, because my wife here, took a pregnancy test and it came out positive so we want to know how far along she is." Jason explained.

"Well, okay, Mrs Mendez please go lay down on that bed over there." Dr Peter's instructed.

I nodded, I stood up from my chair and laid down on the bed.

"Lift your shirt up." she instructed again, I followed her instructions, she stood up from her chair and walked over to me, she rubbed my belly and pressed it a little.

"Tell me if it hurts okay." she ordered.

I nodded, Jason came and stood next to me on my left and held my hand, a lady walked inside the room with a nurse attire, I guess she's a nurse, she came in with a large machine.

"This is nurse Diana, she'll be assisting me." Dr Peters introduced the nurse.

Jason and I greeted the nurse and they immediately proceed, the doctor asked me to lower my sweat pants so I did, I lowered it down till my navel was in view.

Diana handing Dr Peter's the lubricant, she warned me that it would be cold but I replied by saying that I was pregnant before.

She placed the gel around my belly button, Jason kissed my hand and cheek tenderly, the doctor and nurse smiled at his gesture and she pressed the Doppler to my lower stomach, Jason and I both looked at the monitor.

Turning on the system, her hand guided around my stomach, it's like time is at a standstill as the rhythmic thumping sound filled the room, I turned my head to look at Jason and I spotted tears streaming down his cheek, I feel the tears welling up in my eyes as we stared at each other and glanced back at the monitor.

"There are your little seeds right there." Dr Peter's stated, pointing at the screen on the machine, Jason gasped and I smiled at him.

Wait what....

"Doctor did I hear you correctly, did you say seeds?" I asked unsure of my hearing.

"Yes, you heard me correctly, you're having twins." Dr Peter's confessed, smiling from ear to ear.

"What!" Jason and I yelled at the same time.

Dr Peters chuckled.

"There are two little buns in that oven of yours Mrs Mendez." she remarked.

I'm back, I'm finished with my exams so I'm officially all yours meaning I'll be updating more often, so on other more important news so many important news in this chapter, Maria's pregnant again with twins.

Wow! I wonder what gender they'll be, I want y'all readers to decide what gender the twins would be, I already know what genders they'll be but I want y'all suggestion, comment your suggestions on the comment section below.

They was a good reason for calling this chapter "New Beginnings" so many life changing events will occur in Maria's and Jason's life's, so stay tuned, more drama and more amazing mature contents.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, I put a lot of effort in it, who am I kidding I put a lot of effort in all my chapter's. Lol
