Chapter 147 Cold Like Frost

"If there is evidence, would you eat here safe and sound? Huh?"

Veronica Parker looked down and said, "Toby Cage and I are a thing of the past. From the day he betrayed me, he doesn't matter to me anymore. Nothing will happen. I just want to do a good job and ask for nothing else."

Nick Cage looked at her deeply, the atmosphere was oppressive and his sharp vision seemed to penetrate her body and soul.

Veronica's nerves were taut and she ate in silence.

Veronica's stomach was getting more and more uncomfortable but the person in charge was still bringing desserts. "Mr. Cage, this is a dessert specially made by the chef."

Nick Cage raised his chin slightly and the person in charge put the dessert in front of Veronica.

How would Veronica eat those? She couldn't even drink water now!

"I'm going to the bathroom." With that, Veronica stood up and went to the bathroom.

She was stroking her stomach as he walked.

She was really unlucky.

It was like a dinner rush!

Veronica's hands were on the sink. She looked at herself in the mirror. Her uncomfortable face turned pale.

This was the first time she did this.

Suddenly there was a stir in her stomach. Veronica's face frowned. She turned and ran to the ladies' room.

"Oh. Oh." Facing the toilet, she vomited all the food she had eaten

After throwing out, Veronica Parker felt much more comfortable and she sat on the ground. She leaned against the partition and she looked a little pale.

She thought of taking a rest before going out but suddenly she felt a shadow hanging over her.

Veronica looked up and looked at Nick Cage in amazement. "What are you doing in here? This is the ladies' room." She tried to stand up as she spoke.

But her body has not fully recovered, her foot slipped and it scared Veronica.

When she was about to fall, she was held tightly by strong arms.

Veronica fell into a sturdy embrace. She was facing Nick's deep black eyes, "I'm just a little sick. I'm all right now." With that, she tried to get out of Nick's arms.

However, his arms around her waist were so strong. He wouldn't let go.

Close to his strong and hot body, she was frightened and her face felt hot.

"Mr. Cage." Veronica Parker was a little uneasy. He didn't suspect anything, did he? She didn't show that she was not hungry after eating a lot and it resulted in her throwing up.

Nick's cold eyes looked at her and it was deeply disturbing.

After an oppressive silence, Veronica was swept off her feet. She was carried out by Nick.

"Ah." Veronica Parker was shocked and subconsciously clung to Nick's broad shoulders. "Mr. Cage, I can walk by myself. Come on, it will be very strange for anyone to see!"

"Shut up." Nick Cage did not let her go, his face was cold like frost.
