Chapter 221 Watching Him Leave
Chapter 221 Watching Him Leave
It was not yet 9:30 in the morning. It was just a false alarm.
After breakfast, Bob brought some supplements for Veronica.
Veronica took the supplements with her eyes closed.
"Well?" Veronica frowned and looked at Bob expectantly. Bob immediately handed her the towel. She wiped her mouth. "Thank you!" She uttered.
Bob was flattered by her gratefulness. "You're welcome."
Veronica saw Nick stood up and hurriedly followed him. "Mr. Cage, my stomach-ache is gone, can I go back?"
Nick took the coat that Bob handed over and put it casually on his arm. " Don't let her out of your sight. She cannot go anywhere but here." Nick commanded "Yes." Bob responded in trepidation.
After Nick Cage confessed, he went out.
"No." Veronica Parker caught up and hugged Nick's arm. "You said I could go when I recovered!"
Nick glanced coldly across her hand with a warning.
Veronica let go of her arm with some fear.
But when she watched Nick Cage get ready to get on the bus, she ran directly to close the door, leaned against the door, and stretched out her arms.
But when Nick prepared to get on the bus, she ran to the door and stretched her arms towards him.
"I may not be able to touch you but please let me know what happened to you at least" Before she had finished speaking, she saw the shadow of Nick came without saying a word, which made her gasp. She was taken aback when she felt Nick's tender lips pressed into hers. Veronica was kissed by Nick on a Rolls-Royce.
Never in her wildest dreams did she think about it happening.
She felt her lungs slowly lose oxygen as the kiss deepened. She was unable to think of anything else and her body became weak. If Nick hadn't put his arms around her waist, she would have slipped and fallen on the ground.
Dizziness took over her body that she lost her sense of direction. She felt Nick scooped her light body like what a prince does in fairy tales.
They entered the hall and laid Veronica down carefully. Nick reached out and grabbed her chin. "Be good to me, or I'll let you stay here for another month." He slightly raised her chin.
"Huh?" She uttered in confusion.
After the terrible warning, Nick's dark shadow left.
Veronica could hear the faint sound of Nick's footprints as he walks further away from her. The mist in Veronica Parker's pupil trembled slightly. She sat up upon regaining her consciousness. Nick was long gone.
Veronica frowned and felt so lonesome.
She didn't know if there are still other ways to show her obedience to Nick. She didn't even know when Nick would finally allow her to leave.
If she were only alone, she might stand living in that place for a longer time. However, six little ones needed to be taken care of. She could not bear to work overtime every day and she's so sick of it already. Veronica stood up, left the hall, and went upstairs to the room.
Her phone was still in the bedroom.
Veronica needed to call Tracy. She tried to remember Tracy's phone number and dialed it on the phone. It rang three times before the call finally went through., "Who is it?" Tracy answered on the other line
"Hello, this is Veronica speaking."
"Miss Parker?" Tracy was surprised.
"It's me. I'm sorry about what happened yesterday. I want to thank you personally." Veronica said. "Thank you for helping me hide the baby."
"I thought Mr. Cage knew."
Veronica thought that it was exactly what she had guessed.
"You know, if Mr. Cage knew what you were thinking, the consequences would not be that good. It's better to not mess with him I can see how Mr. Cage treated you compared to others. That's the reason why I didn't expose you on the spot. "
"A good thing? I don't understand what you mean."
"I think you lied about having a baby because you cared about Mr. Cage, for fear that he might lose interest in you?" Tracy replied.
