Chapter 24 She Want To Rise To The Sky One Step At A Time
"Stop the car."
The report was interrupted, and the driver pulled over.
Kay Tours looked down the line of sight and saw Veronica Parker drilled out of the bushes with plastic bags by the side of the road.
'Is she picking up plastic bottles?'
Kay thought he had sight problems. When he saw Veronica pick up the mineral water bottle on the ground and threw it into the bag, his eyes were shocked by what he saw.
'Veronica was fired, so she didn't come to pick up bottles for a living, did she? A person who picked up bottles for a living should have valued her job not as arrogantly as she did when she was with the company. Was she not scared that others will not know that she was having an affair with the person in charge of the KING Group?'
'Or does she want to rise to the sky one step at a time?'
'Obviously, people with brains wouldn't take that risk, would they? You have to make steady progress no matter what.'
When Kay was not sure whether Veronica's demeanor was true or false, he felt that the cold atmosphere became depressing.
"Interesting." Nick slightly raised the corners of his mouth, but his smile did not reach the corner of his eyes. The last person who calculated him had already seen the Savage King. "Bring her in."
"Yes." Kay got out of the car.
Veronica was bowing her head and wondered if she should pick up the bottle. These few cents were not enough to pay Isabella for her overtime pay!
Just as she was thinking about it, footsteps were approaching, and Kay looked up in front of her.
"Tours special assistant?" Veronica wondered, 'What is he doing here?'
"Get in the car." Kay turned slightly sideways.
Veronica saw the black Rolls-Royce parked by the side of the road not far away, frightening by every corner without anger and intimidation, and making people have nothing to hide.
The car was Nick's. It was so dark that she couldn't see if people were sitting inside, but Veronica knew that Nick was inside and even felt that his eyes fell on her. She felt a little uneasy.
"Veronica?" Kay reminded her.
"It's not convenient for me to get on the bus, is it? Look at me, aren't you interrupting me to pick up garbage? " Veronica asked solemnly.
He really didn't understand why she was allowed to get close to Nick. She left the company, but Nick himself ordered it.
"Throw away the bag and take off your gloves." Veronica wanted to struggle, so Kay said, "Mr. Cage doesn't like to wait."
Veronica threw the bag, took off her gloves, and walked to Rolls-Royce.
Kay opened the door and let her see Nick, sitting in a wide seat, cross-legged, wearing black, appearing powerful and oppressive, and striking a look back at her eyes.
Veronica went up and sat down. The door closed and Kay sat in the front seat, not hearing what was going on behind him.
"Mr. Cage, I don't know what you want with me. It's not that you've figured it out that you're going to marry me, have you?" Veronica Parker was deliberately pre-emptive.
Nick's black eyes looked at her, deep and sinister, unable to tell whether it was good or bad, but thinned the oxygen in the car.
When Veronica kept insisting, he heard Nick say, "I've thought about marrying you."
"What?" Veronica Parker was stunned. "What did you say? Marry? You will marry me?"
"I thought you'd be happy to hear that." Nick Cage said.
"Of course I'm happy, but I regret it now. I don't want to marry you." Before Veronica Parker had finished her words, her wrist was tightened by his grasp, and the next second she was dragged over and pinned on the seat by him.
Veronica's frightened pupils were shrouded in the shadow of Nick.
Her chin was lifted and forced to look at Nick's dangerous, aggressive black eyes. "You managed to piss me off."
