Chapter 38 You'd Better Not Move
Chapter 38 You'd Better Not Move
Veronica Parker watched as Josephine tried to cheer her up. With her fist clenched, she didn't know if she should be moved by what the secretary told her.
But, in the end, she carried it all by herself.
Veronica Parker made coffee for Nick Cage in his own pantry. She was almost a barista.
She thought that if she would add some salt to the coffee, she wouldn't be allowed to make coffee next time.
It's just that she wasn't able to find a salt bag in that pantry.
She opened the refrigerator as well as the drawers but there was nothing but ice.
So, this was an ice-making refrigerator!
But if there was salt in the pantry, would she really dare to put it in his drink?
She realized that it would be better not to mess with Nick Cage.
Nick Cage was a dangerous person who had an unfathomable mind. He would be able to send people to hell at any time.
She was shocked when she saw Nick Cage's face as she closed the door.
"Ah!" Frightened, Veronica Parker took a step back, her butt was held up by the kitchen counter. "Mr. Cage, what are you doing here? "
"What are you looking for?"
"I'm not looking for anything. I just think that the freezer is a little empty. It's just strange. The coffee is almost ready. I'll pour it for you now! " She felt great pressure because Nick Cage was silently looking at her. She felt very nervous that was why she immediately went to pour the coffee for Nick Cage.
Nick Cage behind was giving her a sense of danger.
It was like being in an isolated and helpless forest where she would never know what kind of beast would attack her.
Veronica Parker opened the refrigerator, took out an ice cube, and places the small piece in his cup.
Veronica Parker was about to turn around when he reached put and rubbed the back of her white hand.
Veronica Parker's back stiffened, Nick Cage was positioned behind her. He was holding a cup of coffee while standing behind her. Her back was so close to his chest that she could feel the heat radiating from him.
Nick Cage stood behind her while drinking coffee as if nothing happened. He was acting as if it was just a casual thing.
He took a sip and said, "You seem afraid of me? Where is the courage I have seen before? "
"No! I have always been in awe of Mr. Cage! " Veronica Parker's body was taut.
She tried to escape by shifting to the other side.
"You'd better not move." The voice of Nick Cage intimidated her.
Veronica Parker's body froze and she dared not to move.
Nick Cage's body leaned forward slightly his one hand was pressing on the side of the kitchen table. His figure emitted a strong aura and Veronica Parker's slender body was a strong contrast.
His voice was as low and she could feel his hot breath on her delicate skin. "Tell me, how are you in awe?"
Veronica Parker's face was flushed badly, how could she be in awe? How would she know? She had a lot of thoughts in her mind at that moment.
"Mr. Cage, I have to go to work. Can you let me go? " Veronica Parker begged for mercy.
"Is it appropriate to say that to me?"
Veronica Parker bit her lip, she did not care whether it was appropriate or not!
"What were you thinking earlier in the conference room?"
Veronica Parker didn't think he would ask this but she wouldn't be able to tell him about it.
Veronica Parker's mind was full of thoughts regarding her unknown and dangerous relationship with Nick Cage. She was very eager to ask him questions but she simply asked differently, "Mr. Cage, do you have a bad relationship with your family?"
