Chapter 518 The Children Did Nothing Wrong
Chapter 518 The Children Did Nothing Wrong
Why would Nick Cage want to video call with her? She had never made a phone call this way before, so it must be just a quick phone call.
Veronica Parker opened it with hesitation, thinking that she would see Nick's well-defined and cold face, but no, the picture was a little strange.
It didn't look like a person. What?
"Nick, is that you?" Veronica asked strangely.
Then she heard Nick's low and intimidating voice, "Put the phone to your face!"
As soon as the picture turned, Peter's face appeared in the video, with six small heads squeezing to watch. Naturally, they all saw Veronica in the video.
Veronica saw the six little ones she hadn't seen for a long time. Her nose was sore and her eyes were hot.
Before she could get over the mood to speak, the six little ones scrambled to call her--
"Mom!"
"Mom!"
"Mom!"
"Mom!"
"Mom!"
"Mom!"
"How are you?" Veronica had a hoarse voice and tears in her eyes.
This was Nick's mobile phone, which meant that Nick allows Peter to video call with her.
Instead of going to Winter Villa to meet, this kind of meeting was already a big compromise, wasn't it?
She didn't know why Nick agreed to the video or was it a matter of conscience?
"Mom! I see Mom!" Peter squeezed the phone tightly, showing his face.
"Mom, why didn't you come back?" Cathy asked in tears.
"Mom won't even come." Julie cried.
"Mom came back now." Josh burst into tears.
"Mom, you have to work. But can we come and see you?" Lily cried until her little face turned red.
"Mom, I want Mom." Daniel cried bitterly so his tears kept rolling down.
"I." Veronica choked up and almost cried. She could only hold back her out-of-control emotion and took several deep breaths before saying, "Sorry, Mom has been a little busy lately so I didn't come to see you, but it should be over soon. I'll be back as soon as I'm done, okay?"
"Mom, it doesn't matter. We can go see you!" Cathy said.
"Well, we can go by ourselves!" Lily said.
"Mom's nest is the biggest. Take us with you!" Peter said.
Veronica's tears were crazy round. She wanted to laugh as a tear dripped down her face.
They were so sensible, but they were so powerless, so she was not competent at all as a Mom.
Nick's line of sight showed that Veronica in the video was wiping tears from her face, trying to hold back a smile as she talked to the children. His black eyes were deep and bottomless.
"You have to be obedient, listen to Daddy at home, and listen to your teacher at school, okay?" Veronica didn't know what to say except this. She couldn't see the children without Nick's permission.
Since she couldn't see them, any promise would only turn into a lie.
"Mom." Peter cried in the video, longing to see Mom's tears falling one after another.
Veronica stuck her cell phone to her chest and couldn't help crying. What should she do? What should she do?
She missed her children and wanted to see them!
Nick, was your heart made of stone? Why was he doing this to her? Even if he punished her, the six little ones did nothing wrong!
"Veronica, what are you doing here?" Tom Parker and Sarah North came over and asked.
Veronica turned around, hung up the video, wiped her tears, and said, "Nothing."
"Nothing? I saw you crying just now, huh? What's the matter?" Sarah wanted to know what it was.
"Is something wrong? If there's anything you can tell Dad, maybe I can help you." Tom said.
"No, I just thought of the sad things in the past, so I cried out. It has nothing to do with you." Veronica turned around and was about to leave.
