Chapter 540 The Rescue
Chapter 540 The Rescue
With a bang, the sound of something hitting the roof of the car, Veronica Parker's eyes got distracted.
She thought there was another wall falling. She later found out that someone was on the roof of their car and was smashing it.
Did someone come to save her? Did the police come so quickly that she'll be saved?
Veronica couldn't smile, so she just closed her eyes. She breathed hard hoping that the people on the roof of the car would smash the roof open.
This was the only place that they can get her out. The rescuers can't save people anywhere unless Eden Cage's car was moved first.
No. If it was a policeman, why not move Eden's car first? Why get on the roof?
Veronica almost stopped breathing when the person smashed a hole at the side of the roof. She watched helplessly as a hand reached through the opening, clutched the sharp edge, and tore it hard.
The blood flowed along with the fingers and fell on the back seat.
This guy doesn't want to tear the roof open with his bare hands.
In Veronica's dismay, the iron sheet on the roof was torn open little by little, and the light coming in from outside became brighter and brighter slipping through Veronica's feeble but trembling eyes.
With a loud roar, a corner of the roof was torn apart in an instant.
Veronica's pupil convulsed uncontrollably, overflowing with tears, staring at the man who suddenly fell on the roof of the car and stretched out his hand to her.
"Give me your hand!" Nick Cage's voice was tense and hoarse.
Veronica's eyes trembled and fell on Nick's bloody hands. She could not see where the wound was, only the dripping blood.
"You. " Coughing, Veronica had difficulty breathing. She was anxious to speak and suddenly coughed.
While she coughed and breathed painfully, with her last strength, she raised her hand hard and caught Nick's hand.
Her hands trembled with weakness.
Almost with all her strength, she gave her hand away.
Thin beads of sweat seeped from her forehead and her mouth was breathing hard. Her face was pale, and her eyes drooped feebly.
The strength of Veronica reached the limit before it touched Nick's hand.
Without the support of strength, the hand will fall.
Nick's body sank hard, and his hand grabbed Veronica's hand in time. The sharp edge of the iron sheet tore open the clothes on his shoulder and scratched his flesh. The blood spilled out in an instant.
But Nick, as if he didn't felt it, grasped Veronica's hand tightly, pulled the person out of the car, and hugged her into his arms. He took out the spray he was carrying in his inner bag and pinched her chin. "On the count of three, suck hard."
Put the spray nozzle into Veronica's mouth.
"One, two, three, suck!"
Veronica's gaze fell on Nick's thin lips, then closed her eyes and inhaled with all her strength.
"Do it again."
Veronica inhaled three times before her breathing began to become normal. After breathing for a long time, she exhausted her strength and crouched softly in Nick's arms.
In his bewildered sight, Nick continued to put the spray into the inner bag.
"It's all right." In a hoarse voice, Nick picked up Veronica, got off the roof of the car, and got into the Rolls-Royce that was parked next to him.
Outside the car lined up Nick's black bodyguards, like a cordon opened and no one was allowed to approach.
Later, the police did not come forward and let Nick take Veronica away.
The Rolls-Royce rushed to the hospital.
Veronica fell into Nick's arms, breathing smoothly. Every time she thought about it, she felt a throbbing pain in her head.
The place where the line of sight falls was Nick's left chest, and there was the spray in the inner bag.
She thought, "Nick, why are you always carrying a spray? Are you trying to threaten me, or are you trying to save me?"
Thinking too much, the pain got worse. It didn't take long, Veronica passed out.
