Chapter 561 The Come Back
Chapter 561 The Come Back
"Nick Cage made a fuss. I was all right a minute ago. I almost quarreled with him in order to go out for dinner. " Veronica Parker said helplessly.
While listening to other people's conversation, it is as if the husband cares too much about his wife and they are having a little trouble.
Clare Parker would have been furious if she hadn't been trained to control her temper since childhood. She took a few deep breaths before she suppressed her resentment.
Sarah North pulled her husband next to her. "You should have picked her up!" Was there a father like you?"
Tom Parker smiled apologetically. "Yes, yes, I was careless!"
Veronica Parker listened to the couple as if they were singing a play, with a smile on their faces.
Tom Parker gave Saxon Raglan a look.
When Saxon Raglan received it, he stood up with his glass and walked next to Veronica Parker. "I solemnly apologize to you for what had happened last time!"
With that, he drank up the wine in the glass.
Veronica Parker looked at him faintly, she did not speak, and looked at him as if she was examining him.
The atmosphere was a little awkward.
Tom Parker had to cough.
"The last time we met, I was so arrogant, and I was impressed by the way I apologized to Mr. Raglan and his ability to bend and stretch."
Sarah North made a deadly look.
"You are much more arrogant than him!"
"I'm very sorry, but I accidentally bumped into you that day. I made a mistake first, and I'm willing to be punished."
At this point, Veronica Parker stopped as soon as she was ready and waved her hand, "Forget it, I am not such a mean person whether you get punished or not."
"Thank you, Miss Parker." Saxon Raglan, sat down.
"I'm going to the bathroom." Veronica Parker got up and left the room.
She stood in front of the sink and washed her hands and looked at her reflection in the mirror.
She wanted to leave before she ate. She had been talking more than eating!
But she still had to go on for this show.
And she needed to find a way to bring Sarah North to Z city, as long as she stopped staring at Tom Parker's flash drive.
Then she didn't need to be noticed when she goes to the company!
She took the initiative to look for it, since it was always not effective to let it come out on its own!
After washing her hands, she was shutting-off the water when someone came out from the men's room next to her.
Veronica Parker didn't mind it seriously but she suddenly froze after glancing.
The person who came out of the men's room was none other than "Toby Cage".
All of a sudden, they looked at each other.
Veronica Parker looked at him in a daze and met him by surprise, which made her brain lose the ability to think properly.
Toby Cage, whom she hasn't heard any news from him, just appeared in front of her, as if he had never left her.
But the scene of their last separation was so painful and embarrassing.
Toby Cage looked at her and seemed to change in an instant. He suddenly felt cold all over his body, cold because of Veronica Parker. His hand arched into a fist to control his emotion.
No matter how calm his appearance was, or how much his heart was still affected by her presence, but still his recovering left chest began to ache vaguely again.
As if reminding him of the injuries he had suffered from time to time!
'Do you want to say, hello? Do you want to ask her how is she doing these days? Do you want to talk to her?' These were the questions running on his mind.
In just a few seconds, all kinds of opening lines appeared in his mind, but the contradiction, struggle and pain suddenly disappeared in one second.
'Yes, why do I have to talk to her again,' He thought.
Since she already made up her mind to fight with Toby Cage in her own way and decided to stay out of way with each other, she didn't have the guts to speak anymore.
Even one more look was a sin.
Veronica Parker withdrew her eyes, turned her back and left.
"Will it makes you happy to do something like that and ignore me with peace of mind?"
Veronica Parker's footsteps stopped at Toby Cage's low and cold voice that touched her nerves, and she stood there unable to move.
"Do you think I'm a fool?"
Veronica Parker swallowed and found her voice. She prevented herself to confess the truth. "It's not what you said. The fact that you can show up shows that hematemesis did not affect your health, so I don't have to feel guilty. I don't want to cause physical harm to you because of me."
