Chapter 687 The Truth Be Revealed

Whether he had it or not, it would greatly depend on tomorrow! As long as there was no video that Tom would show, there would be no backup or other copies of it! It was more proof that Tom was just a test. Finding out if she had the flash drive and to find out if she knew he was her real father!

The time of the day, that was the night of the next day, came. Veronica still went to the villa and didn't get there until it was seven or eight o'clock in the evening. She just got out of the car and saw Tom approaching.

"Did you tell Nick?" was what Tom asked straight to the point.

"I've already tried my best. Can you not leak the Isabella video on the Internet? Dad, you also said that you used to like Isabella and that, you didn't want her to die! So, please. Can you spare Isabella her last glimmer of dignity? I'm begging you!" Veronica pleaded with him with tears in her eyes. "I'll give you half of it now, and when I get a chance in the future, I'll help you win other projects that you lost, okay?"

Tom was silent for a moment and smiled. "Don't panic, dear. I thought it was better not to put the video on the Internet. After all, I'm not really that ruthless. So when can I have an interview with Nick and take over the project?"

"He's been a little busy lately, so he has to arrange his schedule before he can let you know," Veronica answered.

"I see. Okay, I can wait until he lets me know."

Veronica could now completely conclude that there was no backup that Tom held, and he was just testing her last night! Otherwise, why would it be so easy for him to let her go just like that?

Was it just because of the half of the land in the southwest? Could he easily take it back if he once let it out? Then there was only one possibility. He had lost something that he could use to threaten them and had no choice but to settle for second best.

When she went upstairs, she met Elton who just came down and stopped in front of her. Veronica went left so he stopped on the left side as well. When she turned rightwards, so did Elton.

"Did you have fun?" Veronica looked at him coldly. "If you don't want me to live here, just say so."

"Do you think I begged you to live here?" Elton looked at her contemptuously. "Why, Nick hasn't been with you these days? If you felt lonely, you could come to my room in the evening. I promise you, you are always welcome!"

He humiliated Veronica one last time before going downstairs. With a patient expression on her face, she walked upstairs and went back to her room.

At 02:00 in the morning, she had the experience of being caught. So Veronica chose 03:00. She didn't believe that Tom wouldn't take a rest and sleep at night.

After she carefully and observed the surroundings, she sneaked into the study which was still dark. She turned on her cell phone flashlight and quickly took out the surveillance camera placed in the bonsai and stuff it into her pocket. Then she turned off the flashlight and hid herself in the dark.

At the table the next morning, Veronica had breakfast with Tom and Elton. Clare took care of Sarah North in the room.

"Why didn't you come to my room last night? I've been waiting for you for a long time." Elton suddenly said.

Veronica wouldn't dare to buy it from him. This Elton was just bravado!

Elton sneered, "Being a bitch is now pretending to be pure?"

Tom was about to say something when Elton Parker's cell phone rang.

Elton temporarily let Veronica slip for a moment and took out his cell phone. It was a video sent by a secret number. When he opened the video and saw what was the content, his face suddenly changed! He then looked up at Tom.

"What's the matter?" Tom felt terrified and asked him anxiously.

Elton didn't say a word but he went to watch the video again, and he was angry. Then he slammed his phone on the table and grabbed Tom by the collar before he waved it in front of his face.
