Chapter 69 The More You Love, The More You Hate
Chapter 69 The More You Love, The More You Hate
Veronica Parker had no place to eat at noon, and in order to save money, she bought a bottle of mineral water and a piece of bread, so she went to the street park to sit on the bench and nibbled.
When the cell phone rings, Veronica was most looking forward to the interview phone from a certain company. As soon as she looked at the familiar number, she silently put the phone aside.
But the cell phone kept ringing and almost got broken. It kept ringing.
Veronica answered, "What on earth are you doing?"
"Where are you?"
"On earth."
Toby Cage. "I'll meet you at Sunshine's apartment."
"No!" Veronica refused hurriedly, for fear that he would really go to the Sunshine apartment of her family to look for her. "I'm in the middle of the street park."
Veronica had not finished eating the bread in her hand when Toby came and sat down by her side. "Is that all?"
Veronica Parker didn't answer the question, "What do you want with me?"
"Get the clothes."
Veronica Parker chewed slowly and came to ask for clothes.
"You threw it away." Toby turned slightly sideways, his black eyes staring at her.
Staring at Veronica all over, "Of course not! They are in my house."
Toby spent two years with her. Veronica couldn't lie well. He could tell at a glance. Without debunking her, he snatched the bread from her hand and threw it into the dustbin two meters away.
Veronica froze and then roared, "Toby, what are you doing?"
"Why, didn't Chloe give you money to make you poor enough to eat bread and drink mineral water?" Toby leaned back in his seat and looked at her calmly.
"Does it have anything to do with you?" Veronica thought the man was so funny that she stood up and was ready to leave.
Toby also got up and said, "Come to dinner with me."
"Why should I have dinner with you? I don't think there will be any shortage of women around you!"
"I have no one to eat with."
"It's none of my business." Veronica turned around and left.
Toby slurped. "What a rude thing to say." With that, he put his hand around her neck.
"Ah!" Veronica, who was walking well, was suddenly locked in her throat from behind and dragged along, her face flushed with anger. "Toby, let me go!"
"Let's eat."
"I'm not eating!"
"Then I'll keep dragging you like this."
In the high-end restaurant, Veronica sat face to face with Toby in the window seat.
She was still forced to come with him.
Toby took the menu to order, and the waiter next to him waited with a smile as if he was particularly patient in the face of a handsome guy.
She didn't know what Toby ordered, as it was always 'this', and the waiter wrote it down.
After the waiter left, he looked at her silently, one hand on the table, and his index finger seemed to tap meaninglessly.
Veronica turned straight away and looked out at the street.
She really couldn't figure out what kind of tricks Toby was playing when she returned home.
When the food came, Veronica was even more surprised when she saw that most of the dishes served were her favorite foods.
"Toby, you don't want to get back together with me, do you?" Veronica asked tentatively.
Toby was stunned and looked at her deeply. "Are you overthinking this?"
"Am I overthinking? Many of the dishes you ordered are what I like to eat. That's how you used to order when we were together." Veronica said.
"You remember things so clearly that you can't seem to forget me." Toby raised his eyebrows and said jokingly.
Veronica resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
"Have you ever heard the words, 'The more you love, the more you hate.' If you really don't care, how can you be so angry when you see me? So, for your innocence, have a better mindset and just eat."
