Chapter 731 Back In The Game

He panicked and he didn't know whether to stay there that night or to just go and leave.

He tried so hard to think of what he could've done for her. He even thought of going inside and so something for her.

After witnessing that, Tom Parker couldn't keep still. He was not himself and couldn't focus on anything.

Sarah North, who was just assisted by their room servant to get out of the room, looked at the anxious Tom Parker. She walked slowly towards him then asked, "Why are you still awake?"

Tom Parker couldn't hide anything from Sarah North. She knew very well that he was just trying to stay strong for the sake of the company. But his pain reflected on his face, and he couldn't hide it from her.

"Are you all right?" Sarah North asked him. "You better go to the hospital! Your injury is worse than mine." She suggested.

After everything that has happened between Sarah North and Tom Parker, she still loves him as her husband. Her action speaks for itself.

"I'm alright. I'll just take my medicine." Tom Parker said.

"Let's not make the whole company worry. We also don't need to worry so much when we go back to the Z City." Sarah North comforted him.

"I'm just worried about Veronica Parker." He uttered.

"If it had anything to do with you, Nick Cage would have come to us already. It's none of your business now." Sarah North said. "You go to your room now and lie down."

Tom Parker reached out for her hand and said, "Please stay with me then."

Of course, Sarah North was more than willing to stay beside Tom Parker. She would do that in a heartbeat.

Just when they entered the room, Tom Parker's cell phone rang. He reached for his phone and was surprised when he figured who the caller was.

Sarah North looked at the unusual look on his face and asked, "Who is it?"

"Sarah, please go ahead. I'll just take this call." With that, Tom Parker turned and walked out of the room and answered the call, "Veronica, are you all right? I saw you go to the hospital that night. I remember I didn't hurt you. I want to see you, but there were bodyguards in the hospital, so I couldn't get in!" He explained with so much eagerness.

"I'm in the apartment. Come and visit if you want to see me." The faint voice of Veronica Parker responded then hung up the phone.

The decision now depends on Tom Parker if he would go and visit her.

Sarah North came over and asked, "What does she want?"

"I don't know. But I'm going to visit her to figure it all out." He responded.

"Are you sure about this?" Sarah North was uncomfortable with his decision.

"It's the only way for me to know what really happened." Tom Parker explained.

"Why don't you just stay here and rest? Ignore her for now to buy some time to think it over. Or just tell her you're not feeling well and you can't go!" Sarah North said.

Tom Parker stood there. But Sarah North figured his face says otherwise.

Back to Veronica Parker's apartment, she reached for her phone that was on top of the coffee table. She remembered that she smashed the phone before leaving the hospital. Then she figured that Nick Cage already bought her a new one. It was that easy for him to replace it and buy a new one because he has a lot of money. Realizing that, she felt irritated again towards Nick Cage. And even if she decides to smash the new phone, Nick Cage will just buy a new one again. Everything seemed simple for him with all his wealth and power.

She felt upset again. She felt as if Nick Cage wanted to control her. Like he wants to buy her.

The more he treats her like that, the more she couldn't get away from him. She felt trapped and there was no way to escape him.

She just wants her old life back. She's longing for a simpler life. Not her current situation now which only makes her feel miserable. Veronica Parker felt as if her life wasn't hers anymore, to begin with. If Nick Cage decides on everything, what would be her purpose then?

Amidst all the troubles and worries, Veronica Parker still sat there waiting for Tom Parker to show up.

She was so sure that he would show up to reconcile with her. Everything has to go as planned.
