Chapter 750 Dirty Work
Chapter 750 Dirty Work
It was a silent night and the curtains on the windows were slightly open. The moon hanged beautifully in the sky and the stars twinkled around it.
Veronica Parker was reading stories to the children who were listening intently.
It wasn't long before the six little ones began to yawn.
Even when they were already asleep, Veronica Parker continued to read the book.
After she finished reading the book the children were already sleeping peacefully.
She watched as their bulging bellies rose up and down. She took in their cute angel-like face and she smiled in awe. They all looked very sweet and carefree.
Veronica Parker put down the book she held Daniel's soft little body in her arms.
'Oh how cute he was,' Veronica looked at them happily. 'They were all mine. How can they be so cute?'
Veronica Parker woke up the next morning. For one minute, she was confused because something had changed. Then she finally realized that the six little ones were not on the bed with her. How come there was no one left but her?
She looked down at the edge of the bed but they were not there.
They wouldn't get up and go to school by themselves, would they?
Veronica Parker hurriedly got out of bed and saw the maid cleaning in the living room.
"Where are the six little ones?"
"The children had gone to school, Miss Parker," the maid replied.
With a stunned expression, Veronica Parker looked back at the clock on the wall. It was almost 09:00 in the morning and she couldn't believe that she overslept at that time.
Why no one woke her up when the six little ones got up?
"Miss Parker, I saw that you were sleeping soundly, so I didn't wake you up. I only called the children first so they can. have breakfast. Then the driver sent them to school, " the maid added.
Veronica Parker thought about how she could have overslept when in the past, she could handle taking care of the six little ones early in the morning. She could wake up earlier than anyone even if she took care of the babies in the middle of the night. Why was she so tired?
"Miss Parker, the breakfast is ready."
"Okay," Veronica Parker went back to her room and lay down on the bed for a few more minutes.
Before she closed her eyes, thoughts came rushing into her mind.
Which bar was Clare Parker at?
Veronica Parker suddenly thought of the only bar that didn't blacklist her.
She wondered what Clare Parker was doing in there. Was she washing plates? But that would be so simple.
Veronica Parker was not that stupid. No bar was doing clean business and the more high-end the place was the more services were offered.
After all, that's how she knew the world works. It was not always sunshine and daisies as there would always be secrets lurking in the dark.
The six little ones didn't come in the evening.
Veronica Parker was not surprised that Nick Cage wouldn't let them come there every day.
There was no need for him to tell her that between her and Nick Cage, there was no love at all. Maybe that's why he would leave any time he wanted back then.
In the bar, people screamed as they looked at the man up and down.
Because there came the king of the city. It was not the first time that he went there to look for a woman.
He walked purposefully as he made people around him nervous with his presence. This man-made woman was very eager for his attention.
To fit as a woman for Mister Cage, one should not only have a top-notch figure but also, more importantly, she should have good skills.
The head of the bar racked his brains as he didn't know how to approach Nick Cage.
On the other hand, the bathroom door was knocked open and a woman went into the bathroom angrily. She then stood in front of the mirror and looked at her sweaty face.
