Chapter 780 A Sudden Death

The look on his face was at loss.

There was a knocked on the door then Lucy Underwood came in and said, "Host Parker, someone is looking for you."

Veronica Parker walked into the reception room and was stunned to see the man inside. She was familiar with it and said, "Are you ... Toby Cage's driver? What are you doing here?"

"Miss Parker, I don't have any idea how to come to you. Master Cage is in a coma and he is in critical condition."

"Critical condition?" Veronica Parker was surprised. There was nothing wrong with his voice when he called him last night. Was he holding it back all the time? Was he really uncomfortable?

"It's not Elton Parker's parents who were messing around, they're all fighting him! If you only knew Master Cage is physically injured. What happened? He hit hard himself straight to the wall. The wound was open again. He lost a lot of blood last night and then he had a fever. He was raving all night. The fever went down at dawn but he still didn't wake up. I had no choice but to come to you."

Elton Parker was dead? Veronica Parker was worried about Toby Cage and asked, "What is his current situation." Was it bad?"

"Yes! Otherwise, I wouldn't have come here." the driver said.

Veronica Parker believed that she didn't know the driver very well, and if Toby Cage wasn't in critical condition, he wouldn't come to her.

"I'll be going to the hospital now." Veronica Parker turned around and then walked away.

When she got to the car, Veronica Parker was anxious.

I hope that Toby Cage had nothing to do with this.

But why did Sarah North went to the hospital to make trouble with Toby Cage?

"How did Elton Parker died? Why did it had to do with Toby Cage?" Veronica Parker asked.

The driver said, "Of course it's none of Master Cage's business. Elton Parker died suddenly after drinking in a bar. It has been investigated and it was ruled out as murder. Unexpectedly, his parents still came to make trouble, they were saying that Master Cage killed their son. Later on, Master Cage fainted and the man said that even if Master Cage didn't kill him, it was to save you and caused a failure of Elton Parker's plan then encouraged him otherwise he would not had died suddenly."

"That was absurd!"

"That's right! It's very unreasonable."

There was a burst of panic in Veronica Parker's heart.

She never thought she would have heard such a hideous motive.

Elton Parker killed him then suddenly died. This was incredible!

Upon entering the ward, Toby Cage lay in bed still unconscious. The doctor keeps checking his body and taking his temperature.

Veronica Parker looked at the Toby Cage's pale body and asked anxiously, "How's it going, Doctor? Is it too bad? Why is he in a coma?"

"Everything in his body is normal. It is a coma caused by a high fever plus lots of blood lost. Let's wait and see." the doctor said.

Right after the doctor left, Veronica Parker went to the bedside and looked at Toby Cage, who showed no sign of waking up.

"That's what the doctor said two hours ago and I am still saying it. I am sure the doctors can do it." the driver said.

"You may take a walk and get fresh air first. I'll stay here." Veronica Parker said.

"Okay Miss Parker. Just call me if you need anything. I'll be right outside." The driver said that and went out.

Veronica Parker sat down in the bedside chair, looked at Toby Cage's face and said, "Aren't you childish?" Pretending to be in a coma!"

Toby Cage still didn't move.

"If you don't wake up, I'll go!"

Toby Cage raised his eyelids slowly and looked at her, his ears reddened slightly and said weakly, "I was awake before you came in."

"Elton Parker's parents were gone?" Veronica Parker asked.

"It should be."

"Sorry, if it wasn't for me you wouldn't had been shot. It would have lessened if you hadn't been approached by Elton Parker's parents. I'm really sorry."

"Do you need to tell to me about this? It was difficult to turn a blind eye to the situation that will protect you? Veronica, do you think I can do that?" Toby Cage asked.
