Toby was thinking why would Chloe wanted to kill his father. He does not care about his father's affairs as long as it has nothing to do with him. If he ends up hurt or dead, it doesn't concern him. He was just curious why Chloe wanted him dead.
What he knows is Chloe broke up the marriage of Nick Cage's parents and succeeded in taking office at their company.
As part of dysfunctional family, there's nothing more exhilarating than finding out each other's dirty little secret.
But Chloe Bowen also has another identity, she is Veronica Parker's unreliable mother.
Toby Cage turned on his mobile phone and selected a video where Chloe was trying to commit a murder.
What would Veronica think if she saw this?
How would she feel when she sees the video?
Toby was hesitant in sending the video to Veronica.
He was hugely disappointed when his father woke up. He should have been in a coma permanently.
Toby took a picture of himself and sent it to Veronica.
Veronica Parker was in a meeting so she ignored her phone when it vibrated.
She didn't take out her phone until the end of the meeting. She saw a selfie of Toby Cage. He seems to be recovering well. She honestly doesn't care.
Two seconds later, her phone rang.
Veronica entered her office and closed the door before answering his call. "What do you want?"
"If you are not doing anything, why didn't you at least call me? I can come to you if you wanted me to."
"If you talk nonsense again, I'll hang up on you."
"I'm recovering well." Toby Cage changed his tune. "Veronica, are you scared if I die?"
"I'm not vicious. I don't want anyone to die. Stranger or not, I've never wished someone dead." She is no longer with Toby but she doesn't want him dead.
"Am I a stranger?"
"The most familiar stranger." Veronica said and paused.
With that, there was silence and the atmosphere was depressing.
Veronica knew she had said what Toby doesn't want to hear but she had said everything she wanted to say.
It's not that Toby doesn't understand. He's just having a hard time letting go of her.
He remembered he said 'I love you' in the car that day. How can she make the person unloved her?
It's really interesting, one who only likes her body and one who loves her.
People with brains would have chosen someone to love them where as someone who only uses them for their pleasure.
"Have you contacted Chloe?" After a long silence, Toby Cage asked.
Veronica was stupefied by the sudden change of topic. "I saw her last time I sent my child to school."
"What did you say to her?"
"I said a few words casually but I had nothing further to say."
"Do you hate her?"
"Not at all." Veronica Parker said.
Her fantasy when she was a child was long gone when Chloe Bowen took advantage of her unsuspecting nature and stole money from her.
As long as she doesn't mess with her.
She was just wondering why would Toby asked her about her mother.
There was a knock on the door and Lucy Underwood came in and said, "Host Parker, your mother is here."
Veronica turned around and saw Chloe following Lucy.
Chloe had been to the TV station before so Lucy knows that she's Host Parker's mother. There was nothing wrong with her coming to the office.
Toby who was still on the phone heard everything.
What does she want with Veronica?
Does it have something to do with Eden Cage?
"I have to go." Veronica said and hung up the phone. "I'll take it from here." she said to Lucy.
"Good." Lucy went out and closed the door.
She does not want to ruin her own image if she were to drag Chloe out from her office.
"Didn't I tell you not to come here and pretend we're acquaintances?" Veronica Parker said angrily.
"Veronica, what on earth have I done to make you so angry? Is it because of the 5 billion dollars? Can you not forgive your mother?"
