Chapter 857 You'd Better Not Be Caught
Chapter 857 You'd Better Not Be Caught
Outside the gate, she immediately stopped a taxi. Veronica got in, and hurriedly urged the driver. "Let's go!"
The driver looked into the rearview mirror and started the car.
After not seeing the villa that she was in, Veronica breathed a sigh of relief. She was elated that her plans went on smoothly. When passing the security check, she can't breathe properly, afraid that she'll be caught.
Veronica knew that she was almost found out by the bodyguard just now!
She looked down at her phone and avoided the streetlights. Under the cover of the night, she wore the uniform of the Winter Villa servant and the same hairstyle. The bodyguard did not think about it thoroughly.
Her time was limited. She didn't know how long she can wait.
Cathy is cute and adorably played in the park. Nick stood not far away and took out his mobile phone.
He opened the monitoring software installed on his phone to check on Veronica.
But then, minutes have passed and he didn't see Veronica. All that he saw was just the servant standing in the living room, not the one who takes care of Veronica.
Nick tapped the video and reviewed what happened.
From there, he saw Veronica entered the servant's room at 06:00, but she never came out. The only one who came out was the servant, who went straight out of the room.
Then, another servant came in.
Nick's eyebrows twisted slightly in confusion. His sharp black eyes looked back again, and then fixed on the maid who came out of the room!
Right then and there, he recognized her instantly!
"Damn it!" Nick muttered a low curse, He picked up his phone and yelled vehemently. "Punk! You can't see people running away!?"
When someone rushed into the toilet, there was no one in it.
The other servant who checked saw that there was no Veronica in the room she lives in! All that she can found is the unconscious maid in the wardrobe.
"Mister, drive faster!" Veronica wants to leave downtown and decided to go straight to the suburbs.
She asked the driver to hurry up and also asked him to avoid the monitor.
It feels like there are monitors everywhere. The old-fashioned neighborhoods all have surveillance cameras as if they were staring at her.
Her mobile phone rang in her hand, it was a text message that was promptly sent to her. She opened it and the content inside made Veronica pale with fear!
'You 'd better not be caught by me!'
She was aghast how did Nick found out so soon.
With that, Veronica knew he was in a hurry to catch her.
She had to run and make sure that she won't be caught.
For a week, no matter how seamless she was, she still couldn't avoid being chased!
It's just that this time is so different from what she predicted.
There was a threat in this sentence of Nick, unlike in his cruel and grumpy attitude.
Veronica languidly went soft with fear.
"Mister, is there any way to the suburbs that can completely avoid surveillance?" Veronica asked.
In the city, the traffic police must not be as familiar with the monitoring lines as taxi drivers.
"Not really! If there is no surveillance, it will lead from the city to the countryside! Woman, you didn't do anything bad, did you? If you want to escape after committing a crime, I won't pull you!" The taxi driver was vigilant.
"No, it was my ex-boyfriend who I had broken up and wanted to get back together with me. I was afraid of him, so I hid." Veronica made up a reason.
"Your ex-boyfriend from the traffic brigade?"
"Don't worry, it won't cause you any trouble! Please find a place where there is no surveillance and put me down!" Veronica said.
Nick found her running away and will definitely have Kay Tours check the surveillance of the whole city! So, it's only a matter of time before this taxi is locked.
The car stopped and Veronica hurriedly got out of the car and ran to a remote place.
As she walked back and forth in the alley, ran to another street, and then looked for remote places without monitoring, she was tired. But her courage and determination to be freed away from Nick's grasp fired her up.
She kept on running and finally stopped. All of her energy seemed to be drained as she powerlessly tried to support herself on the wall. With desperation, worry, and relief that engulfed her system, tears fell one by one. It was as if she was going to have a nervous breakdown in the midst of escaping.
Even so, she dared not to continue to cry. She calmed herself down, put up with it, and called a taxi with her cell phone.
Before long, a car drove into the alley.
Veronica opened the door to get on the car. Minutes have passed and the taxi drove into the road, exposed under surveillance. She knew that sitting in the back seat is not easy as it used to be. She felt nervous and was like she was on pins and needles.
