Chapter 878 No Going Back To The Old Days
Tracy Dora took her temperature and breathed a sigh of relief when her temperature came down.
Nick Cage stayed in the room all the time and he looked grim. If her temperature wouldn't go down, he was afraid that he would be implicated!
"The temperature has gone down. You go and have a rest. I'll watch her." Tracy said.
Nick's eyes fell on the woman on the bed, with emotion in his black eyes. "Does the body matter?"
"She is overworked coupled with psychological depression, there was a decline in her health." Tracy hesitated for a moment but still said, "Mr. Cage, you have forgotten that this high fever has happened before? She should be taken care of."
The doctor was worried about the well-being of Veronica.
Nick said nothing, he stood up and walked out, "Keep an eye on her."
"Yes."
The door closed and Nick left.
Tracy was left alone in the room to guard Veronica.
Veronica, sighed as she fell asleep on the bed. She didn't know why this was happening to her now.
When the second bottle of water was halfway up, the lethargic Veronica moved and her eyes opened in a daze.
"Veronica?"
When Veronica heard someone calling her, she turned her face slightly and saw not only Tracy but also the hanging water.
"What's the matter?" Veronica frowned slightly, her throat was dry.
It was not only the cause of illness but also what she experienced with Nick.
Tracy came first with the water and held a straw for her to sip.
Veronica took a few sips and her throat was much more comfortable afterward.
"You had a fever so Mr. Cage called me in a hurry and I came. The fever has gone down now, you just need to get some sleep, it will be much better tomorrow."
There was no Nick in the room and Veronica gradually understood why he was sick.
But in a hurry? Why was he in a hurry? Was he worried that if she would die, he wouldn't find another woman who would suit his taste in bed?
She was disappointed again that he didn't kill her.
By the way, Nick said that if he didn't let go, hell won't dare to take her. How ruthless.
"Did you contradict him?" Tracy sat in the chair next to her and asked with concern.
Veronica said nothing and stared blankly at the droplets above the hanging water.
"Was it because of Toby?"
Veronica still didn't speak, but her eyes moved and it showed sadness.
"I shouldn't have asked you this. I just feel sorry for you. Don't fight against Mr. Cage so that things won't be like this." Tracy taught her.
Veronica thought, did she went against him?
Yes, she did, at first but that time she didn't do anything. Nick came in and used force on her, like a madman.
Or, maybe what she said in the bathroom Nick went back made him angrier so he came back to torture her.
"It doesn't matter, anyway, it happened already," Veronica said feebly.
"He can't come back from the dead. I know the knot in your heart. Even if you can't forgive him, you can't torture yourself like this." Tracy said.
Veronica was not ignorant of that truth but when you miss a person, you would miss the person no matter what.
She couldn't do it anymore.
Nick killed Toby but what about her? Wasn't that like he indirectly killed her?
How would she laugh and live? How would she smile at Nick Cage?
There was no going back to the old days.
