Chapter 909 It's Just A Wrong Phone Call
It was already bright outside when Veronica was still asleep. However, not long after the rest, Nick kissed her again on the lips. His breath against her skin felt hot and tingly.
"No, I'm begging you. Please." Veronica woke up and burst into tears.
Nick kissed her roughly and asked, "So, who is that guy? Who called you? Say it and I'll let you rest "
"No. I don't know." Veronica shook her head crying, her tears wetting her face. "Please, leave me alone, I really don't know. Stop!"
Why was he doing this? How could he do this?
What did she do wrong?
When noon came near Nick got out of bed and went directly to the company, straight away, still full of hostility.
While the lifeless Veronica huddled in the quilt, tears flowed from his eyes onto her pillow. Her limp body was a mess.
From the moment Nick got off the car, his intimidating aura affected the whole KING Group, causing people to panic. They knew something dangerous just happened.
After all, the scenario of people getting fired for no reason was still fresh in their memory!
Those in power were emotionally unstable, which made the people below them suffer!
If they became lenient to their workers, the KING Group could not stay, and if it was strict, the whole workforce would be affected. However, even if there was a lot of pressure, they still worked conscientiously for the company. After all, the salary was high!
Watching special assistant Tours follow Mr. Cage into the elevator, Sheila at the front desk breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Supervisor, do you think special assistant Tours will be very strict?"
"I think so. Not everyone dares to take a high salary. It really depends on ability," Venus Noyes said.
Kay Tours entered Nick's office and asked politely, "Mr. Cage, have you had lunch yet? If not, I'll prepare it for you now!"
"Get me coffee." Three words.
"Yes, of course." Kay went down to make coffee for him.
He brought the coffee and gently put it on his desk. "Mr. Cage, here's your coffee."
Nick didn't move.
Since he came in, he had not sat down. He just stood at the huge French window and looked at the whole business district.
His whole body exuded a cold and grumpy aura, which was daunting to the people around him.
"If you don't have anything to do, I'll go down." Kay nodded slightly.
"She hasn't eaten."
Kay froze for a moment and understood his words. It seemed that yesterday's phone problem has not yet been solved, and even intensified.
When Kay went to make coffee, Nick got a call from the apartment. Veronica woke up but didn't eat.
"Really? How so?" Kay asked further.
"She didn't eat this morning. It's almost 01:00 p.m. How can she not be hungry?" Nick said coldly, "It's not that she's not hungry, she's just fighting!"
"Maybe, it's just a wrong number," Kay said.
"It can't be a wrong number." Nick was acutely aware that there was a problem between them! Veronica must have known that man. Why didn't she say so? Who was she protecting? Was there anyone else besides him?
The thought of that possibility made his heart extremely irritable and violent!
He would never let that happen! Veronica was his, always will be. She could never escape him, and she must not even think about it!
"I need you to find that man." Nick's dark eyes were deep and cold. "Go listen to her cellphone."
"Yes, sir."
Veronica stood in the bathroom and looked at her miserable appearance in the mirror. Her swollen eyes could not help but burst into tears for the hundredth time.
As she closed her eyes, she swallowed the tears down and shut her screams.
Why did she have to go through so much?
Does Nick have a heart or not? Does he have to force her to death?
Yesterday, she was thinking of picking up the six little children and spending Sunday with them instead.
