Chapter 15
I seemed to consider the question asked by Dominik earlier. Maybe I should just tell him what really happened to him. I don't know why, but I didn't want to worry him even more.
"Okay. I'll tell you what I know. But please get us out of here first." I replied, staring around the room that I just realized I was in one of the beds in the ER, which was full of people who were also lying on the bed for various reasons that I didn't know and didn't want to know. "I'm not comfortable here."
He nodded. "Wait a minute. I'll go to the hospital administration first. After that we'll go back to your house."
I shook my head. "Just your place. I don't want to go back to my house."
He nodded his head at my request earlier. "No problem." he said, kissing my right cheek and leaving me in this emergency room. I lay back on top of the uncomfortable mattress, remembering the flashback I had seen earlier.
Why did it all appear as soon as he kissed me? I tried to get an answer to my question but couldn't find any answers. Not knowing what else to do, I gave up and closed my eyes while waiting for Dominik to return.
A few moments later, Dominik returned to where I am today while catching his breath that was panting. "It's finished. Leah? Are you all right?"
I opened my eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine. Shall we get out of here?"
"Should I carry you?" he asked, to which I nodded my head. Then he carried me to the hospital car park. His hands carefully open the car door and lower me into the front seat while fastening my seat belt. Then he closed his car door, and he walked quickly into the car and fastened his seat belt, then left the hospital.
On the way to his place, I looked up at the dark sky. No stars were visible in the night sky. I didn't even see the moon at all. There are only a bunch of cumulonimbus clouds that decorate the night sky.
"Looks like it's raining soon, huh?" I said, glancing at Dominik who was still busy watching the road ahead.
"Yes, I know. I increase my speed, okay?" he asks, without turning his head at me. I caught his expression that still looked worried with guilt.
"Dominik?"
"Hm?"
"Thank you for what you did earlier."
He turned briefly at me. "What for?"
"Because you helped me earlier. Also for helping me to distract your fans' attention from me yesterday."
He turned his gaze back to the road in front of him and turned the steering wheel slightly to the right to overtake the car in front of us earlier.
"No need to think about it. Instead, what would you like to eat?"
I shook my head slowly. "I don't want to eat anything right now."
"I understand. We'll be at my apartment soon."
I nodded my head and turned my gaze back to the car window. My mind is still thinking about the flashback that appeared this afternoon, leaving a million questions that I could not answer at all. Then I turned my attention to my vibrating smartphone. I grabbed the bag behind my chair with great difficulty and took out my smartphone.
5 missed calls. 5 messages came from Harris.
Ignoring his messages, I deleted the notification from my smartphone earlier, turned off my phone, and put it back in my bag.
"From whom?" asked Dominik.
"No one."
"Oh."
We were silent until we arrived at his apartment. He parked the car and took off my seat belt before removing the seat belt. Then he opened the car door and walked toward the front passenger car door, where I am right now.
"Can you walk?" he asked.
I nodded my head and pulled my left leg out, followed by my right leg. As soon as I got out of his car, he closed the car door and locked it, then led me into his apartment. He pressed the button for the elevator, waited for the door opened and then we entered it. There were a few people who also entered the elevator, allowing me to automatically leave enough distance for those entering to get inside. Then the elevator doors closed. Everyone inside, including Dominik and I, had absolutely no intention of talking to each other. All seemed busy with their smartphones while waiting for the elevator door to open. One by one the people who had gotten into the elevator finally got out of the elevator as soon as they reached the floor they were going to and ended up leaving only the two of us for now.
"Leah?" he asked, causing me to immediately turn in his direction.
"What is wrong?"
He seemed to be trying to say something, but he didn't say it. His gaze then shifted to the elevator door, hiding the uneasy feeling I could feel right now.
I gripped his right hand tightly. He glanced at me for a moment and looked back at the elevator doors until they opened. After inviting me to get out first, he got out of the elevator and didn't let go of my grip until he arrived at the door of his apartment. He opened the door to his apartment and invited me to enter first. As soon as I entered his apartment, he closed the door and immediately hugged me from behind.
"Why are you hugging all of a sudden? Miss me?" I asked, hiding the joy of being hugged by him.
"I'm afraid you will go and leave me with that man earlier." he replied, leaning his head on my shoulder. "Moreover, you guys looked really close."
I smiled at his words earlier and stroked his head. "I'm not going to leave you, Dominik. Don't worry."
"You promise?" he asked, to which I answered with a nod of my head. He then took his face away from my shoulder, released his embrace, and walked past me who was still standing in front of his apartment door.
"You can sit in the living room first. Or do you want to go straight to my room?" He asks, turning his head at me, causing me to raise an eyebrow in surprise.
I walked over to him and deliberately moved my fingers over his chest which was still wearing his suit. "You mean, you want to tell me to rest, or ..."
He stepped backward. "To rest. No hidden intention." he said quickly as if he knew what I was going to say next.
I laughed softly at the answer earlier. "Okay, if that is the case." I said, bringing my face closer to him and giving him a short kiss on his lips. "I'll go to your room first. Where's your room?"
He turned his face in another direction while pointing at his room which was to his left. "Over there."
I turned in the direction he pointed earlier. "Oh, okay." I said, then walked to his room.
"Leah?" he asked.
I turned towards him. "What?"
He seemed to think for a moment before opening his voice. "Are you sure you're not going to eat? If you want, I'll make you cup noodles. It's only what I have in here."
"Hmm ..." I seemed to think about his offer earlier. "Okay, you can make me one. Very spicy if possible."
He nodded his head. "Okay. Wait for a moment, okay? I will tell you when it's done."
I did not reply to his words and immediately went into the room, threw my bag, and lay down on the bed which looked big and neat.
"Hmm ... It's really Dominik's smell!" I whispered, rolling over on my bed and inhaling Dominik's scent that clung to the dark blue bedsheet. "If only I can save it and take it home. How can he smell this sweet?"
I returned to inhale his scent that stuck to the bed while closing my eyes. Then I opened my eyes, got out of bed, and walked to observe the whole room. At that time, I just realized that the color of my dog's room was dominated by dark blue.
"He really likes dark blue, doesn't he?" I thought, observing the whole room, which was all dark blue. The bedsheet I'm sleeping on right now, the window curtains, the pillowcases, the wardrobe. Almost the entire room is dominated by dark blue, except for the light sleeper above the white nightstand near the brown bed. Even the room wallpaper is dark blue.
What a dark blue fanatic, I thought, as I lay back on his bed, which was now a mess due to my actions.
