Chapter 42
The next morning, I opened my eyes, looked at Harris' face, who had also awakened from his sleep.
"Good morning, Princess. Did you sleep well?" he asked, kissing my forehead and stroking my hair slowly.
"Don't take your hands off me. And yes, I slept well."
He just laughed at my request earlier and returned to stroking my hair.
"I don't know why, but I feel so weird now."
"Weird? Why?" he asked, still stroking my hair.
"Why is it that every time you stroke my hair, I feel so good that I don't want you to stop stroking my hair?"
He just smiled at my question earlier without the slightest intention to answer my question. It seemed like he really didn't want to answer my question earlier, and I sighed in disappointment because he didn't want to answer it.
"Never mind. You don't need to overthink about that." said Harris as if understanding my current disappointment.
"Oh, okay. I understand." I sighed, tightening my embrace. He hugged me back and his hands were still stroking my head while occasionally kissing the top of my head.
Weird. Even though at first I didn't like his seeming pushy nature and didn't want to listen to my opinion at all, I did not feel bothered by all his acts after we spent our night together last night. He really understood what I wanted. Like when I asked him to stroke my hair and hug me like this. Or when I asked him to play, he immediately understood that he should call me his Master.
Looks like this person really has something to do with my past. And if my guess was right, then my guess that I have done this a lot before was also true. I glanced at Harris, who was still stroking my hair. His eyes were far away again as if he was reminiscing about something I don’t know. I continue to stare at his figure, who looks so sad right now.
"When it comes to this, you are much better than my dog." I said, raising my head and landing my kiss on his lips. He kissed me back, not at all surprised by what I did as if that was what he was looking forward to. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the reply from the kiss that I gave him earlier. His tongue entered my mouth and searched for mine, which I immediately accepted. His hand that was stroking my head earlier now moves down to caress my back. Then he moved his hands to my neck and stroked it slowly.
That movement of his hand made me let out my moaning sound in between our kisses. His eyes seemed satisfied with what he was doing, and he resumed his hand movements. I closed my eyes while enjoying the sensation it gave him this time.
Finally, we broke our kiss, looked at each other. I returned to kissing his lips briefly and smiled at him.
"That dog of yours, do you mean your boyfriend?" he asked. His expression looked a little reluctant when he asked that. I pretended not to notice his expression earlier and nodded my head.
"Why?
"Good. It looks like I'm a bit better than your dog."
"Don't expect anything more. Just a little praise, don’t be too proud."
He brought his hands to my cheeks, forcing me to look into his eyes. "Why? Can’t I hope that our relationship won't stop here?"
I brushed his hand off my cheek and glared at him. "Do you mean, you still want to make me your girlfriend?"
"Yes. If you say I'm much better than your dog, why don't you just break up with him, then we can start our relationship from the beginning?" he asked with a serious face.
"You haven't given up on me yet, have you? Looks like you're not someone who will give up quickly until you get what you want."
He nodded his head. "Of course. I want to be in a serious relationship with you, Leah."
"But you don't even want to explain what our relationship was in the past. How can I just say yes to your request?" I asked, getting out of bed and putting on my underwear which was still lying on the floor.
"Do you want to eat your breakfast?" he asked, getting out of bed and taking his bath kimono hanging from his wardrobe. It seems that he chose to ignore my question earlier. His hands quickly put on the kimono and after seeing me nod my head at his question earlier, he immediately took my hand out of his room to the kitchen. Then he took a glass of water and gave it to me.
"Thank you." I said, accepting the glass from him. I looked at the glass I was holding at the moment and smiled.
"You like that glass, right?" he asked as if he knew what I was thinking right now.
"It means we were really close before, to the point that you still remember that I like this glass."
He ruffled his hair, which was still messy because he just woke up. "Never mind. You don't need to think about that. Instead, what do you want to eat?"
I thought for a moment after hearing his question earlier. "Spaghetti bolognese." I replied, without looking up at the glass, which was still intact because I hadn't drunk it yet.
"Okay." he said, immediately preparing the ingredients to make the breakfast menu I requested earlier. "You just wait in the dining room."
"No. I want to see you cook our breakfast." I refused.
He took a deep breath. "Even you who refuse to wait in the dining room are still the same." he said, turning on the gas stove, preparing to cook.
Wait a minute. Gas stove?
My body froze when I saw the fire that started to come out of the stove. The fire that was actually not that big somehow seemed to pull me into it, and my memories of the nightmare I had at that time came back.
A fire that broke out in a place I didn't recognize. People flocked to the burning house, trying to extinguish the flames that were moving ever bigger. Some firefighters tried their best to stop the house that had been completely burned down.
Without realizing it, the glass I was currently holding slide freely from my hand as if my hand couldn't bear the weight of the glass. I could feel the fear that began to spread through my body, and I immediately hugged my body which was now trembling with fear.
"Turn off the gas stove now!" I screamed, asking Harris to turn off the stove now. He was surprised to hear my scream earlier, and when he saw me looking scared at this time, he immediately turned off the stove as I told him before.
"What's wrong, Leah? Are you okay?" he asked, approaching me, who almost slumped to the floor where there was still broken glass and immediately carried me away from the kitchen.
I shook my head, trying to get the nightmare out of my mind at this time. He immediately carried me away from the kitchen and lowered me on the sofa chair.
He sat next to me and looked at me regretfully. "Sorry. I didn't know that you were that scared of fire." he said, kissing my forehead and pulling me into his embrace. The way he calmed the fearful me now slowly reduced my fear to the nightmare that had appeared in my mind was disappearing, and now I feel calmer.
"Are you still afraid?" he asked, without taking his embrace from me in the least. I shook my head and let him keep hugging me like this.
"Not anymore." I answered. "But I still need your hug."
"Yes, I understand. I won't let go until you ask for it yourself."
And just like he said earlier, he didn't release his embrace from me at all, and I could feel his heart pounding from this close.
"Leah?"
"What's up?"
"Are you sure you don't want to be with me?" he asked, stroking my head.
"Sure. Why?"
"It's a shame. Because you make me love you even more."
I released his hug from me and stared irritably at Harris. "What the heck? Suddenly saying love just like that. It's strange to know."
He shook his head and pulled my left hand towards him. His hand stroked the ring that Dominik gave me, which was still curled on my left ring finger before he sighed softly.
"I'm okay to be the second person in your relationship. Well, if your dog doesn't mind sharing with me, of course." he said, looking at the ring and turning his gaze toward me.
I swallowed my saliva at his offer, which sounded a little strange to my ears. "Do you want if we have a polyamorous relationship?" I asked, returning the look in his eyes that almost pulled me into it.
He didn't answer my question and hugged her back. It seemed like he only intends to answer the questions he wants to answer, not all the questions I ask.
