Chapter 51
Arriving in front of his room, I knocked on the door of the room. There was his voice telling me to come in, and I obeyed as he asked me to come in. As soon as I entered the room, I saw the room that looked a bit messy, while Dominik was supporting his chin while staring straight at the window.
I immediately put the document that I brought earlier on to his desk, and my hands moved to tidy up the room. He had no intention of turning his head at me, and I didn't bother with it. After tidying up the room, I walked to his desk and sat in one of the empty chairs in front of his desk.
"This is the flight schedule with the hotel. Please check them first." I said, handing it over to Dominik. He turned his gaze towards me for a moment before accepting the document I gave him earlier. I looked at him anxiously as his eyes turned to the document that I gave him earlier.
"Okay, I don’t see any problems with it." he said, then put the document down beside him. His eyes were staring straight at me, making me feel uncomfortable with the look in his eyes right now.
"That’s good to hear that. Then I will excuse myself."
I immediately got up from my seat earlier and prepared to leave the room until I heard his voice calling me.
"Leah?"
I turned towards him. "Yes, What is it?"
He looked like he wanted to say something before he finally gave up on it. "Nothing. You can go now."
"All right. Thank you for the time." I said, then came out of the room and hurried to my room. I then closed the door to my room and held my chest that was still beating fast.
"Even though I should be able to act normal, I failed to act normal. It turns out just seeing him like before is what I really want right now." I said, then walked weakly to the sofa chair and lay down on the sofa chair.
I heard a call from my smartphone. I immediately took it, which I put on the table, and picked up the phone.
"Leah?"
"What's up?"
Harris's voice was a little hesitant from the opposite direction. "Do you have time now?"
I thought for a moment. "I have nothing to do now. Why?"
"Can I pick you up now? I want to take you to the city park for a moment."
I considered what he said earlier. "Yes. Wait a minute, okay?"
"Okay. I'll wait downstairs, okay?"
"Yes. Tell me when you arrive." I said before hanging up the phone. Then I closed my eyes and suddenly remembered that tomorrow was Dominik's birthday. I immediately got up from the sofa chair, realizing the meaning of the expression Dominik had made earlier.
"Could it be that he wanted to tell me that his birthday is tomorrow? Or maybe he wants to celebrate his birthday with me tomorrow?" I whispered, picking up his birthday present, which is still safely tucked away in the safe. I then took a light yellow post-it and wrote something on the paper.
Happy birthday, Dominik Lawrence. I hope you like my present. I just want to let you know that I love you from the bottom of my heart. From Leah.
I pasted the paper onto the gift wrap and immediately came out of my room into his room. Arriving at his room, I knocked on the door of his room, but there was no answer. I then ventured into the room and saw my dog, who was fast asleep on the sofa chair. Looks like he was tired from his tasks, which I had to admit that he had a lot on his plates than he usually handled recently.
Secretly I walked to the table on the sofa chair and put my present on his desk. Then I took out my smartphone and took a picture of the present. I sent the photo via his WeChat, and I took off my jacket to cover his body and stroked his hair slowly.
"Sleep well. I'm sorry for disappointed you." I said before I left the room and returned to mine.
I cleared my room and left the room as soon as Harris said that he had arrived in front of the office. I quickly ran to the elevator and pressed the down button. A few moments later, the elevator doors began to open and I immediately entered along with several employees who were still in the elevator. I ignored the gaze of those who looked me up and down as if I weren't an employee of this company.
Then one by one the employees in the elevator started to get out of the elevator, leaving me alone. I continued in the elevator until I reached the ground floor. When the elevator doors opened, I rushed out of the elevator to the outside of my office building.
My eyes were busy looking for Harris, who was actually standing observing the fountain in front of the office building. I immediately ran towards him.
"Just arrived?"
He nodded. "Then, shall we go now?"
I nodded my head, and he took my hand away from the office building towards his car, which was parked in the car park. Then after we both got into the car, he started the car engine and left my office building to the city park, our next destination.
Arriving at the city park, we got out of the car and walked leisurely, enjoying the atmosphere of the park, which will soon turn into an afternoon. I held his hand tightly, as well as Harris, who seemed like he was enjoying his time with me at this moment.
"Leah!"
Dominik's voice was heard calling me from behind. Feeling that it might just be my illusion, I ignored his screams earlier and went back to walking with Harris, who looked so happy because he was walking with me right now. But gradually the voice calling me grew so clear in my ears that Harris and I turned to each other and turned behind us.
Dominik seemed to run after us, looking relieved as soon as we stopped our steps. He accelerated his pace even more and stopped a few steps ahead of us. Regardless of Harris, who was still holding my hand, he immediately hugged me tightly.
"I received your present, Leah." he whispered in my ear. His voice that I haven't heard for a long time almost made me want to cry because I really missed the man who was hugging me right now. I hugged him back while still letting Harris hold my hand tighter.
"I want us to go back to how we used to be. I guess that is what you also want, right?" he asked, after releasing his embrace from me and looking into my eyes.
There was a clearing sound next to both of us. Dominik and I immediately turned to the voice that was clearing his throat. "Looks like you guys forgot my existence, huh?"
Dominik glanced at my hand, which was still holding Harris's hand, and immediately removed my hand from Harris. "Why are you holding my girlfriend? Go find your own girlfriend. "
Harris, who did not accept Dominik's words, stepped forward toward Dominik until they were a few centimeters away. "Why? Don't you like to see me around Leah?"
"If so, why?"
