Qingfeng Li watched the little spat between Xue Lin and Mengyao Xu, speechless. Although the two hadn't actually fought each other, beside them, the Peach Blossom She-Devil and Ya Yun were glaring at one another like they were mortal enemies. Neither of them were willing to back down.

The Peach Blossom She-Devil and Ya Yun were both native to the Crimson Fire Continent and the two of them had known each other for a long time. One of them was the heiress to the continent's largest trade company, the other was an infamous devil who was ranked on the Devil Rankings.

The two had quarreled before, even going as far as exchange blows. Now the two of them had each chosen a representative to use as a stepping stone.

Qingfeng Li lifted a hand and patted his own forehead. "Xue," he said, "our main mission right now is to find the tomb of the Sun Monarch. We need to obtain his legacy therein. And then, we need to go rescue Ruyan Liu and Little Apple."

Xue Lin and Mengyao Xu both knew about Ruyan Liu's abduction. Her rescue was their primary objective at the moment. However, in order to rescue Ruyan Liu, they needed to become more powerful. And the Sun Mystic Realm was the most reliable way of doing so.

Even though they ha all gotten a lot stronger already and had become famous in the world of self-cultivators, they were nothing compared to Crimson Fire Monarch who ruled over the entire Mars.

Qingfeng Li waved at the group. "Let's go," he said. "We're leaving the palace. Let's go check elsewhere. See if we can find any clues of the Sun Monarch's tomb."

Qingfeng Li led the group away from the Monarch palace and Sky Rat City. Together, they walked further into the Sun Mystic Realm.

The Sun Mystic Realm was divided into four regions, The Outer Region, the Inner Region, the Central Region, and the Core Region. Where Qingfeng Li was right now was the Central Region. They still hadn't entered the Core Region yet.

By Qingfeng Li's estimates, there was a high probability that the tomb of the Sun Monarch was located in the Core Region. The Core Region was located at the center of the entire Sun Mystic Realm. It was the axle around which the entire Sun Mystic Realm revolved, controlling its operations and maintaining order.

The two suns hanging high over their heads both rose from the Core Region. It was a mysterious place with many secrets.

Walking out from Sky Rat City, the landscape opened up before their eyes. The grasslands and mountain ranges stretched out into the distance. It was a wild, green landscape. Stepping out here was like stepping into the prehistoric ages; it was a world filled with danger.

In the sky, there were avian demonic beasts; on the ground crawled others. Still more were burrowed under the ground. All kinds of demonic beasts existed here, each with its own powers.

The presence of Xue Lin made Black Puppy and the Sky-Devouring Snake very happy. To them, Xue Lin was their Mistress. And she'd always been kind to them.

Black Puppy trotted along by Xue Lin's heels and kept on rubbing its little head against her pant-leg.

Suddenly, Black Puppy stopped. It stared into the distance, its expression growing serious. "Everyone, stop walking," he said. "There's danger ahead."

Qingfeng Li lifted a hand, motioning to the group to stop. Just as Black Puppy had spoken, he had also sensed danger up ahead. There was a mass of powerful demonic energy rising up from the canyon in front of them.

Qingfeng Li activated the clairvoyance ability with his right eye, and it began to glow with a golden light. Through it, he was able to see through the Void and into the canyon ahead. The canyon was massive, five thousand meters deep, so deep that it was hard to see the bottom. And within the swirling black mist that filled the canyon, it felt like there was some kind of devilish creature.

Suddenly, Qingfeng Li's Clairvoyance caught sight of a demonic corpse. The black mist, or rather devilish energy, had come from this corpse. It drifted over the entire canyon, blocking the group's path.

Qingfeng Li's pupils contracted. He sensed powerful energy from this demonic corpse, one no weaker than his own.

The important point here was that this demonic corpse was just that, a corpse of a dead man. Could a corpse practice self-cultivation? Qingfeng Li didn't know the answer to that question.

He frowned. "We can't go over there," he said. "Let's find another path into the Core Region of the Sun Mystic Realm."

Qingfeng Li and company wanted to leave, but the black devilish energy that filled the canyon wasn't about to let them go easily.

The black devilish energy merged together, forming a massive demonic soldier. It stood several thousand feet tall. In its hand, it clutched a black scythe that roiled with devilish flames. Crashing through the air, the demonic soldier charged toward Qingfeng Li and the others.

Qingfeng Li's expression changed. He opened his mouth and spat out a beam of Golden energy, which tore through the air and slashed upon the devilish soldier's outer armor. In an instant, the armored demonic soldier had been cleaved in half.

However, the next scene left Qingfeng Li and his friends in utter shock. The two halves of the armored demonic soldier merged back together, good as new. It was as though nothing had happened at all.

Black Puppy, as the Dog Ancestor of the Ancient Continents, knew a little about such demonic soldiers. It opened its jaw to explain, "Qingfeng Li, these demonic soldiers are made of undead devilish energy. They cannot be killed by physical techniques alone. Only fire and lightning can defeat them."

Qingfeng Li nodded. Channeling his golden flame, he let them dance upon his index and middle fingers before flicking it forward in a flash of golden fire.

The Golden Flames sliced through the air like a bolt of lightning, flying into the armored demonic soldier with tremendous force. The demonic soldier let out a howl born of fear stemming from the depths of its soul.

In just a moment, the armored demonic soldier was reduced to a wisp of black smoke, fading into the air. This, however, seemed to anger the devilish energy filling the canyon. The black energy tumbled and turned, creating several hundred armored demonic soldiers that charged toward Qingfeng Li and his friends.

Qingfeng Li's expression changed as he cried out, "Everyone, back away! Quickly, get out of here!"

If it were just one armored demonic soldier, Qingfeng Li could naturally kill it with ease. Hell, he could kill ten of them. But against hundreds and thousands of black phantom soldiers, even Qingfeng Li would be in trouble.

His Golden Flames could only be used three times. Once it reached that limit, it couldn't be used again.

Seeing the armored demonic soldiers closing in on him, Qingfeng Li grit his teeth and turned around. He took out his Thunder Pearl.

Qingfeng Li activated the thunder inside the Thunder Pearl. From within the pearl came a series of loud crackles as a thousand bolts of lightning flew from its surface.

With indomitable force, the thunder bolts flew at the hundreds of armored demonic soldiers. In an instant, the soldiers were blown apart, fading into a black fog that quickly disappeared.

Sensing the power of Qingfeng Li's Thunder Pearl, the black devilish energy gave an infuriated roar. Somewhat unsatisfied, it turned and returned to its canyon.

Qingfeng Li silently let out a deep breath. He was lucky he had the Thunder Pearl, which was able to frighten the demonic soldiers off. Otherwise, who knew what would have happened.

He turned to speak to the group, "Now that we are within the Core Region of the Sun Mystic Realm, and the most dangerous region, everyone please be careful."
