Annoying Moment
Alex and Keyra couldn't stop laughing hearing what Kimberly had to say this afternoon in her study. As is known, almost everything that she experienced she always told her two friends. For him, in this world, the two of them are always loyal to listening to Kimberly's complaints. They are also always there when Kimberly needs help.
"Why didn't you just accept it?" Keyra protested.
"This is profitable, though, Kimmy. You don't have to bother trying to catch up with Mr Nicholas. Besides, if you get rejected, you'll be fired, right?" said Alex.
Kimberly snorted in annoyance.
"Okay, I want to be the ice cube master's partner. But that's not how it is. Same as making me a shield to avoid his parents. I want him to be sincere and be my partner, not because there is a shrimp behind a rock. like this!"
Alex sneered. "Weren't you making Mr Nicholas a bet? So now you like him?"
Kimberly was stunned. All this time, she had often sought Nicholas' attention. But she wasn't sure if she genuinely liked him or was just obsessed because of the bet she and Alex had made earlier. "I don't know, Lex. Then, Mr Nicholas, I'm more interested in Mr Edward. The man is more friendly and hospitable. He is good at making the people beside him comfortable."
Keyra shook her head disapprovingly. "Don't forget that Mr Edward is a famous Playboy, Kimmy. Do you want to be the next prey?"
"Well, who knows, after being with me, Mr Edward became repentant and loyal. No one knows, right?"
Before Keyra could answer, Nicholas passed between the three of them.
Instantly the atmosphere became tense. The man paused in front of Kimberly's desk, then spoke.
"Alex, please come to my room right now."
Then the man walked to his office. Alex looked closely at the faces of Keyra and Kimberly. A little confused because it was unusual for Nicholas to direct her into his study.
"Seriously, I was asked to Mr Nicholas's room?" Alex asked, confused.
Keyra shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe you'll be interrogated like I was yesterday. Better get in now before Mr Nicholas gets mad for waiting so long."
Alex laughed and then walked towards Nicholas' room. He knocked once before finally opening the brown door in front of him.
"Excuse me, Mister," said Alex.
"Sit down!"
Alex casually sat down on the chair opposite Nicholas's current sitting position. "Could you please check this financial chart before I sign it?" Alex took the file Nicholas handed over and opened it.
Checking, correcting and marking which files are ready to be signed. That was part of Alex's job. But as Keyra said, she felt there was another reason the man had called her directly to his room.
"It seems that you and Keyra are very close with Kimberly."
Alex, who was still busy calculating the numbers listed on the graph, accidentally smiled amusedly. The man's gaze shifted to Nicholas' face, then answered.
"You could say that, Mister."
Nicholas nodded. "Does Kimberly have a boyfriend?" Nicholas asked, taking a sip of the tea he had previously held.
"To my knowledge, Kimberly doesn't have a boyfriend. But many employees from other divisions like her."
"Cough ..." Nicholas spontaneously choked on the tea he was drinking. Realizing that, Alex asked.
"Mister, all right?" Nicholas raised his right hand to signal that he was fine.
"So Kimberly likes a lot?"
Alex laughed inwardly, and it seemed very interesting to tease this famously cold Caucasian boss. "Not much anymore, Mister. Probably almost all the men in various divisions like Kimberly. Even according to the rumours circulating, Mr Edward also likes Kimberly. Many employees have seen that Mr Edward has sent Kimberly lunch several times."
Alex wasn't bragging. So far, many employees from various divisions are competing to attract Kimberly's attention. After all, who wouldn't attract to a beautiful, independent, and outgoing woman like Kimberly. About Edward approaching Kimberly, it's also not entirely a hoax. Because some time ago, the man of Scottish descent brought Kimberly lunch. Well, even if only once. For this one, it doesn't seem a problem if Alex is a little hyperbole. He was just curious to see how Nicholas would react. Sure enough, Nicholas was consumed by Alex's words. The man clenched his jaw. He didn't like it when Alex mentioned Edward's name. Nicholas knew all along that Edward had openly wanted to seduce Kimberly.
"Unlucky! It turns out that Edward behind me often sends Kimberly food. Haven't I warned you many times?"
Nicholas took a deep breath. "Wait, am I jealous?"
Nicholas subconsciously shook his head violently. "No, I'm not jealous! I don't want my secretary to get hurt by an asshole like Edward."
This time Nicholas nodded. "Yes, right. I didn't want my secretary to be Edward's next target. Will never!"
"Mister..." Alex's call snapped Nicholas out of his thoughts.
"Yeah..."
"Everything I've done, is there anything else I need to do?"
Nicholas stared for a moment at the pile of files that Alex had finished working on. Then he shook his head.
"Nothing, you can go back to your room now." Just a step away, Nicholas again called Alex. "Oh Sprry, Lex..."
"Yes, mister?"
"...please tell Kimberly to come in to see me."
Alex nodded then left the room. Less than a minute after Alex left, Kimberly's turn to enter Nicholas' study. Judging from her face, the woman seemed still annoyed with Nicholas.
"Have you thought about the answer to my offer?" Nicholas asked without looking at Kimberly. The man was busy watching the news of stock developments on his tablet screen.
Kimberly took a deep breath before actually answering. "I have stated many times, and I do not want to get involved in your personal affairs, Mister."
Nicholas' gaze shifted to Kimberly. After a while, the man smiled wryly.
"That means you are ready to accept the risk I will give you?"
Kimberly stared at Nicholas intently. A little surprised by the way the thoughts of the man in front of him. Sometimes he threatens to fire Kimberly if he doesn't do what he wants. Do you think Kimberly will submit to the threat he gives? Nicholas was wrong. Kimberly is an independent woman who doesn't like being bullied by men. Especially an arrogant man like Nicholas who relied on power to smooth his plans.
Kimberly could have helped him if Nicholas had just relented a little by pleading and then seducing him yesterday. Not even threatening when the request is rejected.
Kimberly nodded her head. "If Mister wants to fire me, please. I will accept that decision." Nicholas was stunned for a moment. He was just confused about what else he should do so that Kimberly would comply with his request.
"I'll give you extra time until tomorrow. If you still refuse my offer, I will be very forced to fire you."
Kimberly chuckled. "Why wait until tomorrow when the answer is still the same?"
"Who knows, after this, you change your mind. Nobody knows," Nicholas replied with a relaxed face.
"Change mind? Of course, you can. As long as you know-how, Mr Ice Cubes."
Kimberly snorted in annoyance in her position.
"Seduce me, stupid! Please don't leave me like this. Insensitive."
Kimberly glanced lazily at Nicholas.
"If there's nothing else Mister wants to talk about, I'll go back to my desk."
Nicholas shrugged his shoulders. "Nothing, please go back to your desk."

Keyra : [Kimmy, want to come home with us?]
Kimberly immediately replied to the message her best friend sent.
Kimberly : [First of all, I still have a lot of work to do]
Keyra : [Okay. Me and Alex first, yeah. Bye]
Kimberly re-entered one by one the folder containing the agreement files in the cupboard, which was located not far from Nicholas' study. Then after that, the woman tidied all her belongings on the table. If he were fired tomorrow, he thought he wouldn't have to bother arranging his things anymore. The truth is I was fired because of trivial matters like this.
Damn Nicholas!
Finished compiling all the files, Kimberly grabbed her briefcase and got ready to go home. It was just seven o'clock in the evening. The atmosphere of the building still looks crowded because some employees have not returned or are even working overtime. Arriving at the lobby, Kimberly reached for her cell phone in her blazer pocket, then opened the application and ordered an online taxi to take her home.
She didn't want to take the risk of taking public transportation when it was a night like this. It didn't take long for the taxi he ordered had arrived. Kimberly quickly climbed it. Travelling about twenty minutes, Kimberly almost arrived at her residence. But from a distance, the woman's eyes caught the presence of several large men who were perched in front of her house.
Kimberly knows who they are and their purpose, waiting in front of the house where she lives. Instead of stopping, Kimberly asked the taxi driver to turn around before the big man noticed Kimberly's presence and chased after him. Argh! It must be Marco. It seems it's not safe to go back to the boarding house tonight.
"Sooner or later, Opa will drag me back home." Kimberly rubbed her face in frustration. Not going back to Opa Artur's house, which she didn't be afraid of. Because after the death of her father and mother, Kimberly did live alone with Opa Arthur. But if she went home now, it was certain that she would immediately marry Marco.
"What should I do now? Staying at Keyra's house is also very unlikely. Live in Alex's apartment? Her boyfriend would disagree. Should I sleep in the office?" Kimberly shuddered in fear.
"The one I'm in is eating ghosts!"
Kimberly kept thinking hard about where she was going home tonight. Sleeping in a hotel is not the right choice now. It wasn't long before a crazy idea popped into his mind. Kimberly quickly reached for the cellphone in her bag, looked for someone's contact and then called her. It took three to four times to pick up the new line.
"Hello, Randy. I need your help."
