Miss You
It was almost two o'clock in the afternoon, Kimberly's work had not yet been completed. After Nicholas go to business trip, the tasks could pile up so much for some reason. Maybe counted more than three times, she gently massaged her temple, which was throbbing in pain. It can't be helped if it's not resolved now. It might pile up. Of course, later, she will feel troubled.
Not to mention thinking about Nicholas, who must be nagging if the deadline she gave was not completed on time. The man was very professional in matters of work. Even though she is engaged, Kimberly is still treated like any other worker. Counted the graphs that appeared on the computer screen, Kimberly's activities suddenly stopped after the appearance of someone she should have avoided.
"Here, your lunch. It looks like you haven't eaten."
A handsome man approached and handed Kimberly two boxes of food. After believing that the food he gave was received, the man did not leave. He chose to sit and watch Kimberly, who still looked busy at work.
"You'd better eat first. It's already past lunchtime. You'll get sick." the man said while glancing at the clock wrapped around his wrist.
Kimberly shifted her focus. She looked at the man sitting in front of her.
"A little more, mister. After that, I was relieved from this tiring work. By the way, is Mr. Edward not afraid to visit me here?"
Edward laughed. "Afraid of whom? Nicholas, you mean?"
Kimberly nodded. "I see Mr.Nicholas often looks annoyed at you. What has happened between the two of you all this time?" asked Kimberly curiously.
Nicholas and Edward often look like cats and dogs. They get along at certain times. Especially Nicholas, who always showed his disapproval.
Edward smirked. The sitting position is more relaxed now.
"You want to know why Nicholas hates me so much?"
Now, Edward deliberately leaned forward and whispered as if he didn't want anyone else to hear. Kimberly also approached, curious about what the white man would say.
"So what?"
"Back then. Nicholas hated me because I openly wanted to compete with him. The peak was in the final semester of college. The woman he liked was more mine than Nicholas," whispered Edward. In the next second, a laugh broke out from Kimberly's lips. After a long time, his curiosity was finally answered. Because of the early female affairs, these two friends often clashed.
"In the past, I was deliberately approaching the woman Nicholas has a crush on. For some reason, I like to make him angry. It's my fault. He and Jacob are just as slow in acting. Until now," the man continued again.
This time Kimberly agreed. Nicholas was the stiff type of guy. Insensitive and less romantic. I don't know what his heart is made of. Kimberly often felt annoyed and irritated if the man often acted cold or indifferent.
"You are a real Playboy, Mr. Edward." Kimberly laughed again. "Then what is the fate of the woman he has a crush on?" Kimberly asked again while holding her cheeks which felt sore.
Edward shrugged his shoulders dramatically. "It's been long gone. After that, Nicholas met Claire and was in a relationship long enough to decide to get engaged. You must know about Claire, don't you?"
Kimberly nodded slowly. "Ex-fiance, Nicholas, right? I met her when I was in London the other day. The woman is gorgeous," Kimberly muttered quietly.
"Yes, that's right, very beautiful. But it's a shame to have the courage to bring another man into Nicholas's apartment. That's what traumatized Nicholas, and he chose not to have relationships with women again after that."
After saying that, Edward's cellphone rang. The man then stood up and signaled that he had to leave Kimberly. After thoroughly completing all her tasks, at 4 pm, Kimberly just ate the food that Edward gave her. While chewing her food, she continued to check her cellphone, afraid that Nicholas might find it. But, until I finished eating, the man never contacted her. Lazy to make a fuss like yesterday. She chose to immediately tidy up all the files she had been working on and decided to go home directly.
However, when he arrived at the lobby, she had to be surprised by Marco's unannounced arrival. The man looked restless, sitting waiting not far from the reception desk.
"What else?" asked Kimberly when she was perfectly standing in front of Marco. The man then rose from his seat.
"Kimmy, you must come with me now. Opa is in the hospital." Marco said hopefully.
Kimberly remained motionless for a long time, confused about what decision she should make now. If she joined, she might not be able to return to Nicholas's house with Arthur's grandfather.
"Kimmy, please..." Marco continued to insist. "Please visit Grandpa for a moment, and he keeps calling your name. I promise, after meeting you, you can go home. I'll take you myself."
Kimberly dived into Marco's black beads, looking for gaps in the lines until she knew that the man meant what he said.
"Okay, I'm coming with you."
Kimberly followed Marco to the parking lot the next minute and immediately got into the car. Arriving at the hospital, Kimberly saw with her own eyes that the man who had cared for her lovingly was lying weak. So many medical devices were attached to the middle-aged man's body. Kimberly's heart was throbbing in pain. She then approached then burst into his arms. "Opa ..." she whispered.
The middle-aged man slowly opened his eyes. "Kimberly ... where have you been?" the man whispered, barely audible. Finished hugging, Kimberly kissed the back of his hand. Arthur repeatedly seemed to want to pay for all his longing.
"Why does it hurt like this? Grandpa must often forget to take his medicine," Kimberly protested. Arthur smiled. "How can Grandpa not forget if you don't remind him. All this time, you've always prepared all the medicines that Grandpa is taking."
Unknowingly, tears welled up in Kimberly's eyes. She felt guilty because she had left Arthur for so long. Even though she knew that no one was paying attention to her grandpa's condition, Adrian, his uncle, chose not to interfere with Arthur's affairs since he was not appointed as heir. After Kimberly's leave from home, Marco took care of it even though he was a nobody. Only Kimberly's friend.
"Don't go again, Kimmy. Don't you love your grandpa? Even though Grandpa isn't old anymore." "Shhstt ..." Kimberly hissed quietly. "Opa isn't going anywhere. Grandpa will be fine."
Kimberly cried even more. Marco, standing behind her, could only gently rub her shoulder. She was trying to keep the tension going.
"Opa, now rest first. Kimberly's not going anywhere," Marco said to Arthur.
When Kimberly felt sad, lamenting Arthur's condition, her cellphone rang. Nicholas called her at the wrong time. She then asked Marco to leave, looking for a place to answer the call.
"Hello, honey," Nicholas said.
"Hi ..." Kimberly struggled to keep her voice casual. "I miss you. Sorry I was so busy this afternoon. But now it's all over. Maybe tomorrow I will arrive in Los Angeles in the afternoon," explained the man.
Kimberly took a deep breath. "I miss you a lot too. I feel like hugging you now." Kimberly said honestly. Now she needed someone to lend her a shoulder so Kimberly could lean on. Shed all the tears that squeezed her chest.
"Tomorrow, we meet, Kimmy. Oh yes, where are you now?" asked Nicholas suddenly.
"I-I was in the apartment lobby. Just got home from work," Kimberly answered nervously. Of course, she was lying.
Nicholas could be suspicious. "Then when you arrive, hurry up and take a shower and don't forget to eat dinner. Have a good rest. Tomorrow we will meet soon. Oh yes, do you want something for me to bring home? Anything you ask, I will bring." offered Nicholas.
From behind the phone, Kimberly smiled. For a moment, he forgot his sadness at Nicholas's sweet attitude. "No need. I hope you come home soon and hug me tight."
"Okay, tomorrow I will make sure you will be satisfied hugging my body. See you tomorrow, Kimmy."
Knowing Kimberly had finished the call, Marco, who had been watching for a long time, started to approach. The man kept his promise to take Kimberly home. Until they arrived at the apartment lobby, Marco came down to deliver. "Thank you very much, Kimmy. I hope grandpa gets better soon," Marco said. They were both standing in the lobby of the apartment.
"I'm the one who should be thanking you. Sorry I haven't been able to help you look after grandpa. Please let me know immediately if something emergency happens. I count on you." Kimberly's face turned sad again. Remembering Arthur's condition of lying weak made his heartache. Marco, who saw the change in Kimberly's facial expression, pulled her to lean on his chest. Sure enough, after that, Kimberly burst into tears again.
For a long time, Marco tried to calm down. "Never mind, there's no need to cry. I'll take care of grandpa. You don't have to worry. If anything happens, I'll call you right away." Marco untied his arms and left Kimberly. For the umpteenth time, from a distance, someone has managed to capture the moment where Kimberly is hugging Marco.

Nicholas kept his promise to come home on time today. When Kimberly came home from work, the man was already sitting on the sofa in the living room, watching television. When he saw Kimberly come home, the man immediately stood up and pulled Kimberly's body into his arms. He had been holding her body for a long time. Release the longing that has been held back for several days due to the distance that separates them.
"Gosh, I haven't showered yet, Nicholas. Aren't you comfortable hugging me?"
Kimberly protested. The woman pursed her lips. At the same time, Nicholas did not even listen to Kimberly's words.
Nicholas shook his head. "No. Why bother? You still smell good." the next second, Nicholas put his nose on Kimberly's neck. Inhaling the woman's scent deeply. "Your lips also taste strawberry today." This is due to the lip balm that Kimberly was wearing.
"You are crazy!" Kimberly shouted.
"Come on, and I have to take a shower. My body feels very sticky. We can continue later," Kimberly begged. "Give me one kiss, then you can take a shower." teased Nicholas after that. Not wanting to argue, Kimberly complied with Nicholas's request. She kissed his lips briefly and then went to take a shower. Complete bath and dinner rituals quickly. Nicholas was taking revenge for their separation of these three days. The man locked Kimberly in his room. Not only that, he even closed the woman's body in his arms.
"Nicholas, I'll suffocate to death with this tight hug," Kimberly protested. Nicholas chuckled and loosened his grip.
"It's your fault that I miss you." The man kissed Kimberly's lips.
"Gosh, Nicholas. How many times have you kissed me? You act like there's no tomorrow." Nicholas smirked; instead of stopping, he grabbed Kimberly's neck again and devoured her lips. He was not letting Kimberly move one bit. So after that, they spent the night missing each other. Satisfied kissing and hugging each other. It's as if tomorrow won't be able to do that again.
Yes, it could happen.
