Give Me More
"Never see me again!"
Kimberly's words kept ringing in Nicholas's head. Before he could answer yesterday, the woman had already drawn her conclusion, always like that. Nicholas and Kimberly are a perfect match. Nicholas as a man, took too long to make a decision.
Meanwhile, Kimberly, as a woman, is too quick to conclude. That's why they are always involved in misunderstandings. If only you had heard my explanation first. If only you would give me a little time.
Nicholas closed his eyes dramatically. Why is it so hard to convince you? Nicholas's thoughts were interrupted when a knock on his study door. Then, not long after, a woman entered whose presence always made her heart and mind anxious.
"Is mom interfering with your work?" Cassandra stepped in and sat herself down in the chair directly opposite Nicholas.
Nicholas shook his head. "No, I'm not busy. Papa's work in Canada finished?" Nicholas asked again.
Cassandra nodded. "Yes, and now your papa is finishing a project in Bali. Mama just stopped by for a while because this afternoon will follow immediately. Then, how are you?"
"I'm fine, ma," Nicholas said again.
Cassandra breathed a sigh of relief. "In that case, thank God. Mama heard that your company is currently participating in a partnership selection held by the Capital Group."
Nicholas nodded in agreement. "That's true. AlpaBeta qualify. Even today, we are waiting for the final announcement of who has passed."
"Mama, I hope that your company wins the tender. Capital never messes with investing. Their Capital is quite large," Cassandra explained at length.
"I hope so too, Ma. 25 Trillion is a fantastic value. While working under the auspices of AlpaBeta, we have never once received a tender of such magnitude. Edward and I even spent quite a bit of time researching to make our presentation well received."
Cassandra laughed. "Mama never doubted you and Edward's abilities in the past. I'm sure you will get it. But, by the way, who is your rival in this final selection?" Cassandra asked curiously.
Nicholas sighed softly. "Sanjaya Corp, Ma. Owned by Arthur Sanjaya. And the one who managed to convince Capital the other day was Kimberly."
In her position, Cassandra was quite surprised. She was silent for a while before finally speaking again. "Kimberly? So now Kimberly has officially replaced Arthur Sanjaya's position?"
"I don't know, Ma. Indeed, there has been no official announcement of Kimberly as Arthur Sanjaya's replacement. The public also doesn't know much that Kimberly is Arthur Sanjaya's grandson," replied Nicholas.
"But from all that, have you managed to talk to Kimberly?" Cassandra inquired. She also had to know the developments regarding continuing her child's relationship.
Nicholas sighed softly. "After the presentation with Capital, I had a chance to meet face-to-face and talk for a while. But Kimberly didn't give me much time."
Cassandra clucked in her position. "Oh, come on, Nicholas. Move fast, and you don't have much time. Do you think Mama was joking with Mama's threats the other day? If you reach the grace period Mama gave you, you still can't convince Kimberly ---"
"Get ready to go back to London and never dream of going back to Los Angeles again."
Nicholas immediately interrupted and continued Cassandra's sentence.
"I already know Ma. Does Mama think I'm just sitting here? Everyone, even though I didn't do anything. Even though I have done a lot without your knowledge, it's just that all of you as the audience draw too many conclusions on your own."
Cassandra was silent at Nicholas's striking words. "Then what is your next plan?" Cassandra asked curiously.
"Mama, watch me from afar. This time I promise I won't disappoint Mama." Nicholas had already prepared a final plan that he believed would bring Kimberly back into his arms.
"Okay, mama waiting for your good news."
There was silence for a moment, then Nicholas looked into Cassandra's face, still watching her.
"Mom, I want to ask you something. Please answer honestly."
In her position, Cassandra clucked. "Go ahead, Nicholas. Don't make Mama curious."
Nicholas took another breath. He was gathering all his courage to ask something he considered quite crucial. "Kimberly recently had surgery because of an illness she was suffering from ---"
"Yes, I know that. Edward has already told Mama." Cassandra cut.
"Listen to me first, Mom," Nicholas begged.
"Okay, carry on."
"One of her ovaries had to be removed during surgery yesterday. The doctor had sentenced her to be difficult or even unable to have children in the future."
Nicholas then fell silent. Don't continue the sentence. Expect anxiously waiting for a response from Cassandra.
"Only that?" Cassandra asked confusedly when she found that Nicholas was no longer speaking. It turned out that the woman chose silence because she was waiting for Nicholas to finish all his complaints.
"I'm waiting for an answer from mom," Nicholas said quietly.
Cassandra smiled. "What do you need from mom?" Nicholas was made even more confused by Cassandra's response.
"Does Mama still approve of my relationship with Kimberly if Kimberly can't give Mama a granddaughter?"
Cassandra chuckled. "Gosh, Nicholas. Do you think Mama doesn't have a heart? That's just a doctor's prediction. There's still a chance that Kimberly will get pregnant later. After all, marriage, children, and death are in God's hands, not humans. So why be afraid?" Cassandra answered at length. A smile appeared on Nicholas's lips.
"So mom still approves of our relationship?"
"Of course!" Cassandra answered quickly. "That's why I'm waiting for good news from you. I'm sure you will unite sooner or later."
Nicholas couldn't hide his happiness. For that, he grabbed Cassandra's finger and held it. "Thank you, ma. I promise to fight for Kimberly."
Cassandra nodded and smiled. "Mama, keep your promise. Then, I'll excuse myself. There's someone else I need to meet after this. Thirty minutes after Cassandra's departure, it's Edward's turn to enter Nicholas's room. With a few hasty steps, the man approached Nicholas's position and handed him over a piece of paper.
"You should see this." Nicholas grabbed the piece of paper that Edward held out and began to read it carefully. After a while, the man looked back at Edward with a wide smile. "You're not kidding, are you?"
Edward shook his head. "We won. Tender this time, Nicholas. Our company was chosen."
Nicholas rose from his seat and happily hugged Edward, standing beside him. "Oh my gosh, I'm optimistic that we will win. But knowing this in person still makes me so happy," Nicholas said after breaking the hug.
"We have to celebrate this, Nicholas. It's a big achievement."
Nicholas nodded in agreement. "You manage how good it is. I want to contact Jacob first."

Arthur Sanjaya took a sip of chamomile tea that had been specially prepared for him. Now he was sitting enjoying the sunset from behind his terrace. The feeling was so peaceful that Marco came and joined the sitting not long after. beside him.
"Are you home from work yet?" Arthur asked.
Marco nodded. "Yes, grandpa. I just arrived five minutes ago. I have something to tell grandpa."
Arthur put down the teacup he was holding before then spoke again. "What do you want to talk about?"
Marco took something from his briefcase. After finding what he was looking for, he immediately handed it over to Arthur. the old man immediately accepted what Marco gave. "That is the result of the decision of the Capital," Marco said after handing the sheet of paper to Arthur. Arthur first put his reading glasses on and then carefully read what was written on the sheet of paper. "So AlpaBeta chosen this time?" The deep voice sounded disapproving.
Marco nodded again. "That's right, grandpa. The chosen AlpaBeta. I think they deserve this."
"If AlpaBeta can do it, why can't we? Did Kimberly know about this?"
Again Marco nodded. "Yes, she's even acting normal." Arthur laughed wryly at Marco's words. "Poor my poor granddaughter. The first time she ran a business, she had to be defeated by a rancid boy who had previously hurt her."
"Opa...." Marco mumbled quietly. "Kimberly is fine. There will be other opportunities in the future that may not be less big than this. Isn't it true that in every game there are always winners and losers? Maybe right now our company is not lucky. chance to get it."
Arthur just cleared his throat in response to Marco's words. There was something on his mind right now. Something that might later affect the continuity of the relationship between Kimberly and Nicholas.
At night in a different place. Nicholas was tidy and ready to head out. Tonight he was determined to visit Kimberly's house. Whatever happened, he had to meet her. Confidently, Nicholas walked away. Driving by car, he finally arrived in front of Arthur Sanjaya's luxurious house. There, there were already officers who intercepted his arrival.
"I want to see Miss Kimberly," Nicholas asked the guard on duty. The officer just nodded but didn't immediately let Nicholas in. He first reported to Arthur, who happened to be in the house.
"Sir, there is a man who wants to see Miss Kimberly. Can we let him in?" asked the officer behind the intercom.
Arthur furrowed his brows questioningly. "Ask the man's name." The officer complied and then approached Nicholas to ask for his name. After receiving an answer, the officer returned to report to Arthur.
"His name is Nicholas Alistair, sir."
Arthur froze in his position. The boy was desperate too. What is he doing here at this time of night? Ah, but it doesn't matter. It looks like I have a pretty good plan for both of them. From his position, Arthur was seen laughing slyly. There was something he was planning now.
"Just tell him to come in." Arthur ordered the guard.
Meanwhile, Nicholas was anxiously behind the wheel. Waiting patiently and hopeful for Kimberly or Arthur Sanjaya to accept his arrival this time. He waited a long time until finally the guard came back and knocked on Nicholas's car window.
"Please come in." With a feeling of great relief mixed with happiness, Nicholas directed his car to enter the courtyard of Arthur Sanjaya's house. After parking neatly, he quickly got off. The officer who had let him in was already waiting for him not far from the door. He then approached and followed where the officer took him.
"Please have a seat. After bringing Nicholas into the living room, just wait here," said the guard. Nicholas just nodded and then sat down on the sofa. Believe it or not, he was feeling nervous right now. Afraid that after meeting him, Kimberly suddenly kicked him out. But after waiting a few minutes, it wasn't Kimberly who came out, but Arthur Sanjaya who came and sat with him on the sofa. Right in front of him.
"Apparently you still have the balls to meet my grandson." Arthur laughed wryly at Nicholas.
Nicholas just looked down. He didn't dare to look at the old man's face.
"However, I must quickly end the misunderstanding between Kimberly and I."
Arthur chuckled again. "What else do you want to explain? My granddaughter really loves you, but how can you accuse her of all kinds of things. I wonder why Kimberly could fall in love with a man like you?"
"For that I have to meet him, Mr. Arthur. I must apologize and explain that I really love him." Arthur glanced down at Nicholas. "Love you say? After many times you let her down? Even your company's victory over the Capital tender, could have hurt Kimberly even more."
Nicholas shook his head. "Please be professional. Don't confuse work matters with our personal problems. Of course that's the opposite."
Hearing Nicholas's words suddenly made Arthur laugh out loud. "Do you know that you are young? Besides, even if Kimberly forgives and accepts your love, do you think I will automatically approve of your relationship?" Arthur laughed again in his position. "Don't dream that I will give up my beloved grandson just like that!"
Nicholas looked up. He looked at Arthur with pity. "I beg you, forgive me. In what way should I convince Mr. Arthur that I love Kimberly so much."
Arthur squinted at Nicholas. "You ask how to convince me?"
Nicholas nodded quickly. "I will do anything to prove that I really love your grandson." From the look on his face, Nicholas spoke earnestly. He didn't want to lose Kimberly this time. He was also determined within himself would do anything to prove his feelings. There are no more doubts like there used to be.
"Okay, can I believe what you say?"
Nicholas nodded confidently. "Of course. A real man is judged by his words."
Arthur flashed a meaningful smile. "Then please prove it to me. Cancel the cooperation between AlpaBeta and Capital. If you can do it, I promise to bless you and Kimberly's relationship. But, if you can't do it, don't expect to see Kimberly again. Marco as soon as possible."
Hearing those words, Nicholas instantly froze in his position. Cancel a 25 Trillion project, or lose Kimberly? Has this old man gone mad?
