Surprise
"So which other file should I read and sign?"
What is Kimberly currently in the CEO room of the SanjayaCorp building? She is studying various types of cooperation agreements with Marco from various companies. Next month, the plan, if there are no obstacles, Kimberly will be officially inaugurated to replace Arthur Sanjaya, who is in control of the company. That means Marco will also start returning to his own company.
"Let me check first." Marco grabbed the pile of folders that were previously in front of Kimberly. Start reading, then check them one by one.
Marco nodded after that. "Everything is correct, Kimmy. It's just a matter of leaving it to the legal side to be validated."
Kimberly smiled. "It turns out to be difficult and difficult to become a leader like this. I think the job of a CEO is only to sign, attend meetings, then make decisions. Many procedures are so complicated and must be taken into account."
Marco grabbed the cup of tea on the table first and took a sip. When he finished, he gave a smile. "But I'm glad you learned everything so quickly. I didn't bother with the basics. You're ready to be released now."
Kimberly blushed. "Ah, this is all thanks to you. I have a lot to thank you for," Kimberly said sincerely. Kimberly's words made Marco smile again.
"You're exaggerating. What are you grateful for. You're smart, Kimmy. You've always been that way."
Kimberly shook his head. "No, this is indeed thanks to your hard work being so patient with me. No wonder Grandpa is obsessed with making you, my fiancé."
Kimberly's face turned sad. Marco looked at Kimberly. Observe the woman's face. She has golden-brown hair, a sharp nose, thin light lips, and a sharp look in her eyes. Kimberly is indeed a beautiful woman who deserves to be included in the criteria for a dream wife.
"You have the right to refuse, Kimmy. Why force grandpa's will if you're not happy in the future?"
Kimberly took a deep breath. What Marco said was true. How could she marry a man who had only been considered a friend and brother? But the problem is, does her grandfather want to hear what she has to say? The last time he refused, he ran away from home.
"You think I have a chance to refuse?" Kimberly laughed bitterly. "I'm even afraid that when I refuse grandpa's orders, the heart disease will return. I really can't move now."
Marco was stunned. "I think, if you talk to grandpa about it, he will consider it. Grandpa loves you very much, Kimmy. He wants the best for you."
Kimberly grimaced at Marco's words. Because Arthur wanted the best, the old man chose Marco to accompany her. Anyone would be amazed by Marco's figure. Handsome, responsible, FamilyMan, and always reliable. "But, you, why agree to Opa's request? Haven't you had a lover all this time?" Kimberly investigated. It was only now that he realized that Marco had not once told him about his lover as long as they were friends. Could it be that the man loves Kimberly? Marco chuckled.
"That's not important to discuss, Kimmy ---"
Before the man finished speaking, the phone's voice interrupted their conversation. Marco quickly answered, then not long after, the man got up from his seat.
"I'll go back to my room first. This afternoon it seems I can't take you home. But don't worry, you can go home with the driver later."
Kimberly nodded as she watched Marco leave until the man's shadow disappeared from in front of her.

Nicholas had just arrived at his room after finishing lunch. Just a few steps inside, there was a knock on the door. When he turned around, Jacob was standing in the doorway. Without being asked to enter, the man immediately stepped forward towards the sofa on the left side of the room.
"Since when did you arrive in Los Angeles? Why are you so happy to go back and forth now?" asked Nicholas in surprise. The man then followed suit and sat down.
Jacob took a deep breath. "Alma's parents are sick, and she asked me to come back to Los Angeles. Besides, I heard that you just won the tender held by the Capital Group. That's why I came here to congratulate you in person."
Nicholas flashed a smile. "Yes, I'm sure you must have heard the news from Edward. Thank you for your words. Our company is successful because it has such a solid team. They are all great at compiling presentation materials to convey to Capital," said Nicholas proudly.
Jacob smiled too. "I didn't choose the wrong person," said Jacob.
"Oh, yeah. How's your relationship with Kimberly going? Have you guys make up?"
Nicholas sighed and looked desperately out the window. Thinking about the fate of his relationship with Kimberly, who was actually on the brink. And this was all because of Arthur Sanjaya.
"I don't know, I'm not even sure what to do. I'm sure Edward must have told me about my problem by now. That man is famous for talking a lot, right?" said Nicholas.
This time Jacob laughed. What Nicholas accused was true. A few days ago, Edward contacted Jacob and told him all the problems that Nicholas was going through.
"You are confused about choosing between Kimberly and AlpaBeta? "
"Of course, Jack. You think you can easily make decisions?"
Jacob nodded. He understood the anxiety his best friend was feeling.
"If you choose AlpaBeta, it means you have to be mentally prepared to see Kimberly side by side with another man. But when you choose Kimberly, you also have to let Capital go."
Nicholas growled in annoyance. It feels like everything is going wrong now. Why has fate been playing with him lately? "Can I be greedy to choose both? I really don't want to lose AlpaBeta let alone Kimberly."
"I understand, Nicholas with your feelings. But you also have to remember, if we unilaterally cancel the cooperation agreement, AlpaBeta will have to pay a final 10% of the total investment value." Nicholas closed his eyes for a moment. He didn't think it would be this complicated now. "If you chose to save AlpaBeta, would you be willing to lose another woman who meant so much to you?"
"Gosh, Jack. I really want to go crazy, right now." Nicholas sighed in frustration.
Jacob patted Nicholas on the shoulder repeatedly. Trying to provide support so that his friend is not frustrated anymore.
"Ask your heart, Nicholas. In this world, a heart that never lies. I'm sure you can choose well. Even though I own AlpaBeta, I can't necessarily force you to choose a company."
Nicholas didn't budge. Choose silence rather than reply to Jacob's words. "Okay, I'll go first. Alma has asked to be picked up immediately. I pray that your problem will be resolved quickly."
Right after Jacob left the room, it was Nicholas's Handphoe's turn this time to ring. An important call asked him to pick up immediately.

Kimberly had tidied her desk from the pile of files. After putting all the sheets of paper into the folder, Kimberly glanced at her watch, and it was already six in the afternoon. She then walked to the hanger stand, which was not far from the sofa, to pick up the black blazer that was hanging there.
After putting it on, he grabbed her briefcase and walked out of the room to the lobby. Downstairs, there was already a special car to pick her up and take him home. Because Marco had an urgent business, he couldn't help but go home alone today. Along the way home, Kimberly was only busy using her cellphone to browse social media or hunting for knick-knacks in one of the well-known marketplaces. It wasn't long before she realized that the car she was travelling in was not on the way home. But to a place that is not foreign to her.
"Sir, where are we going?" asked Kimberly, a little panicked when the car she was travelling in began to enter the basement of an apartment. Then not long after, the car stopped.
"Please come down." Hearing that voice, Kimberly realized more and more who was with her now.
"Gosh, Nicholas!" Kimberly shouted.
The man turned and smiled. "Yes, honey. It's me." Nicholas then went downstairs and opened Kimberly's door. Invite the woman to come down immediately.
"What do you want me to do here?" asked Kimberly, confused after getting out of the car. Instead of answering, Nicholas immediately carried Kimberly's body without any warning. He brings the woman quickly to her apartment unit.
Meanwhile, Kimberly initially refused and even rebelled. But because Nicholas didn't care a bit, Kimberly just resigned herself to being carried until they arrived and entered the apartment unit.
"Nicholas, why did you bring me here?" Kimberly asked again as Nicholas sat himself down on the sofa.
"Shouldn't there be a reason in advance if I wanted to bring you here? If so, let's just say that I miss you now, Kimmy. That's why I was desperate to bring you here."
Hearing those words, Kimberly was silent. It couldn't be helped. She missed the man. But when she was in a relationship again, she was afraid to feel hurt.
"Kimberly, I really miss you," said the man hoarsely. This time Nicholas didn't want to hide what he was feeling anymore.
Kimberly's eyes blinked a few times. Paying close attention to the man beside him, who was staring sadly. I miss you too, Nicholas. Do you know, almost every night I think of you. Kimberly took a deep breath. She prefers to swallow all the sentences in the heart.
Seeing Kimberly silent, Nicholas pulled the woman's body into his arms. Locked and kissed the top of her hair many times. Somehow Nicholas suddenly brushed his lips against Kimberly's lips first. Take a sip and bite it with tenderness and affection.
Never had he been this gentle before. Meanwhile, Kimberly could only close her eyes, enjoying every sensual touch that Nicholas gave her. It would be a lie if she didn't miss the man's touch. Then the next second, the kiss was getting deeper and deeper.
Their originally distant bodies were now stuck together without a gap. No one knows since when Kimberly shifted position on Nicholas's lap. Their kiss continued as if as a form of revenge for the longing held back. It wasn't long until Nicholas pulled his face away, ending the kiss between them.
"I love you, Kimberly." Nicholas whispered, then hugged Kimberly tightly again.
"If you love me, don't ever leave me," Kimberly replied. There was a pleading tone tucked into her sentence.
While Nicholas was silent, he didn't answer. He chose to bury his face in the crook of Kimberly's neck.
