Chapter 13 At Her Grandparents Place

Rishi's PoV

You guys are right! I heard her say that she knows me from before. She also said that I am so rich! Now I am getting all wrong ideas about her consent to this marriage. She married me because I am rich? Is she a gold digger!? She doesn’t have to be. Her dad, though not as rich as I am, is rich! She must be a greedy girl if what I heard from her is true!

Before she continued further my dad called out on her for lunch! I went to dining to place the juice glass and that is when I heard it. All kinds of unnecessary thoughts came running to my mind! I am so restless. I am yet to know what happened with Smirthi! I can add trying to figure out Danya to my to do list! I ate my lunch in silence. After lunch, Uncle and dad started talking again. Though uncle has a steel fabricating industry that is totally out of our area of business, they still had enough matters to discuss in common. I lost track of what they were talking about. I’m no longer listening to them. All my mind is on HER! Danya! She is doing something to me. I’m battling with myself now.

My heart says that she can’t be a money seeking bitch because she just said all that to her mom and sisters. I mean can the whole family be after money? No way in hell! They look nothing like that! Her family looks so nice and good. My brain says what else do you want to know when she herself said that she knows you and she just got to know that you are so rich? She must have known me and when she figured out that I am rich, she must have used the situation to marry me and get richer!

It’s purely her luck that Smirthi has gone absconded! Because who in the right mind would agree for a marriage like what we had!Everything sits well with what my brain says! But I refuse to believe that. My heart says there should be more to the story. My brain says she is a greedy bitch.I literally want to pull my hair out! Why am I not believing what I actually heard from her!?

No! I am not in my right mind. Her presence is making me insane. I should avoid her. Atleast, until I figure out what the hell is happening in and around me. I should find out about Smirthi. I should talk openly to Danya. With all this post-wedding commotion it’s impossible to think straight. It’s thursday today. We might come back after staying for the night at her place tomorrow. And moreover I can share all these with Karthik, my friend! Getting a 3rd person's point of view will help me to think on the out of box possibilities. Until then I should avoid Danya. It will be hard, but I can’t let my guard down. Not yet! I mean she is a stranger to me. I know nothing about her except that my stupid heart says that she is a very good and innocent little girl!

In the car, she kept on looking at me. She is so tense. She is trying to make conversations. She is so cute when she stutters. God this is going to be very hard. I

ignored her. Her nose is turning red! OMG she is crying! After all the resolutions I took to stay away from her I am now wiping her tears away! What the hell is she doing to me? I cannot see her cry. Something inside me broke when I saw her cry.

But her skin is so soft and smooth! I just don’t want to stop caressing her cheeks! Reluctantly I took it away. She made herself alright and said sorry to me for crying! She is incredible! I should say sorry to her for making her cry! But I can't do that! I should avoid her remember!? So I just nodded at her.

I really wish she stays away from me by herself. It’s really hard ignoring her cuteness. There she goes again! Why can't she stay away and stop talking! She wants to be my friend? I want to do all the dirty stuff to her and she wants to be friends with me? No way I can have her as my friend! But again, this wavery mind of mine is making me angry at myself. I thought I was a headstrong person. But here I am struggling to keep up my mind. Can’t I just ignore her for 3more days? I need to get my mind straight. She is making me weak! I don’t like it.

I said all rude things to her face. No no no! She is crying again! Why the hell I feel a pain shoots through my heart when I see her cry!? I took her face and wiped her tears away with my thumbs. She looks so fragile now. I can’t break her like this! Atleast, not until I confirm her notion behind this wedding! I just

fight away my urge to kiss her red nose and pink lips! She is so beautiful. Her moist eyes looked up at me! She is going to be the downfall of me! I finally agreed to take her as a friend. I mean just to make her happy again. She nodded her head. I sighed and took my hands away from her beautiful face. I literally don’t want to let her go. I just wanted to hug her and kiss her all day! The rest of the ride went in silence with some songs on the radio.

Her grandparent’s house was kind of old but big. It’s a single-storey building. They took 'Aarathi' for us and let us in. There was her grandma and grandpa! Her perippa and periamma(way to call dad's big brother and his wife). Her Anna Aakash and her anni Charu! Her dad, mom and those lovely sisters! Her sisters make the whole place lively! They all engulfed her in a hug and I can see her brother even cry hugging her. They all greeted me with utmost respect and love. This family can’t be at fault!

Her mom asked her to take me to a room. I mean it's 7pm now. I’m just sitting here on the sofa. We all had a proper intro and greetings. I am really not a talkative person. I don’t know what else to do. Her mother took my position into consideration. Danya took me to a room near the hall. The room is quite big but old fashioned.

"Do you want me to stay here with you? Or do you wanna take some rest?"

"No, it’s fine! You carry on!"

"Ok! I will come and fetch you when dinner is ready!"

With that she left the room. I just wanted to tell her to stay back with me. I mean I am bored. It would be entertaining to watch her. I remember our first night when I passed 30minutes just by looking at her! She came knocking on the door within 10 minutes. She has this habit of fumbling with her fingers when she is nervous.

"um... they want me to accompany you!" OMG those red cheeks again! Resisting her is so hard!

"No, it's perfectly fine. I’m just going through some office mails!"

"I went into the kitchen to help mom and perima! They just won’t allow me. My sisters said it’s not polite to leave you unattended. You don’t want me here and they don’t want me there!"

Is she whining!?? She is a baby!

"Leave me unattended? What am I? A baby? I can survive, baby! You go spend some time with your family!"

Why is she blushing now? What is with her? She is making it so hard for me. She is burying her face to the ground. She doesn’t want me to see her blushing! God she is so cute!

"um... are u... um tired? I mean do you... um have to attend to the mails now?"

"Stop twisting your fingers. You are going to break them. And these mails can wait. What do you want to ask! Just ask me straight away!"

She takes a deep breath. Her chest heaving high! No! I can’t see her bad spot! But she is not helping either. Her duppatta is not doing its work!

"um...can we play?"

She wants to play with me? I mean I am so ready to play with her in bed! she is so inviting! I am a 27yrs old man. I can’t help having bad thoughts! But I am having a feeling that she is going to suggest some children's play now!

"You want me to play with you?"

"Not just us! We can go out and play with appatha(grandma), thatha(grandpa), anna,anni, perippa, dad, Dakshu and Shanu! We can play ‘snake and ladders’. It will be fun!"

I laughed at her. She wants to play ‘snake and ladders’ with me! I knew she will be entertaining! I agreed with her and went out to play with her. Aakash said we will team up because we are so many people to keep track of the coins! So, I teamed up with my wifey! Aakash and his wife on a team. Daksha and Shanvi on a team, her grandparents on a team and the uncles on a team! Her family is awesome! I literally love this game! Though childish they all play very

seriously. When we got bit by the largest snake Danya argued that they counted wrong. Her brother supported her and let her escape! Her sisters fought with both of them. They are fighting over a game!

Daksha said, “If you have lied you will surely get down with that same snake.” It was more of a curse. I just wanted to laugh out loud! They are cursing each other for a game?! But just as Daksha said, we got down by a small snake and have to pass through the big snake again. And when it was my turn to roll the dice, it was the exact number that everybody was counting to get us down on that snake!

We all laughed and she did something I never expected! She shuffled the game board and ran away! She is so cute and childish! Never a minute passes boring with her! She is a perfect package of entertainment! Everyone packed up the game! It’s like they all knew she was going to do that!

"She always does that mama! She is a spoiled sport." Daksha said.

I Smiled at her! She is complaining about her sister to me! I feel one with this family! They are all so friendly.
