Chapter 40 New Wisdom

D's PoV

Janani is a nice girl. I like her. She is the personal secretary of Karthik. She is a beautiful girl.

"From when are you working for this concern, Janani?"

"I started my career here, Danya. It's been 3 years now. I started as a receptionist and now PA."

"Oh, that's nice. Will you take me to HR?"

"Yeah sure. About that, our last 3 contracts were lost in a very meagre amount difference. Karthik sir thinks there should be an insider that leaks our quotation amount. But all 3 contracts have gone to 3 different companies. We have no clue. Luckily Karthik sir trusts me. He might have given this job to you because often a third person point of view will be right. Like thinking out of the box."

"I see. I sure will try my best to conclude this."

"Thanks, Danya. And congratulations on your wedding. I don't know about Karthik sir. But I am so happy that you married Rishi sir. He deserved better is what I always think when I see him with Smirthi." She said completely out of nowhere.

"Thank you, Janani. I feel better. Among all the commotions, someone telling it's for the best, gives you a little happiness you know. And may I ask why you thought like that?" I asked her. So people here know Smirthi.

"Sure. Every Saturday Rishi sir will visit us. You know we work all Saturdays. Almost all the time Smirthi will come along with him. Many times Karthik sir and Rishi sir will talk in the room. She will just roam around looking at everything. Some of us even felt like she was supervising our work. It kinda irritates us. She even asked me about our financial status and about our upcoming projects. She even tried to buy our salary details from me. I personally hate her and feel like she is so keen on money." She said hatred was evident in her words.

"Oh! She may be. Um.... Is it wrong to know about your fiance's monetary status? Why does everyone hate her for that? I mean, she is a middle-class girl. I have many middle-class friends. They always look for the price before anything. That doesn't mean they are giving importance to money, they just want to know if they can afford it."

"OMG What are you Danya? You are taking up her side? Strange! But you are so good. I really like you." She just hugged me. I like her too and I reciprocated the hug.

So, Rishi has brought her here all Saturdays.

I started my work by collecting everyone who works for the quotation. I personally met everyone. I don't know, but all 3 of them look nice. I don't feel bad about them or get any bad vibes from them. Karthik has arranged my seat along with Janani. When I went there with files of details, I saw Gowtham. My college senior.

"Hey senior! How are you? Surprise!" I jumped behind him, startling him.

"Hey Anya! What are you doing here?" he asked me with a wide blown smile.

"She is my sister Daksha, senior. Teach her well" I said.

"Haha sure. You are an intern also? But you should be done with college now. Aren't you?"

"Yes, senior. I'm done with college. I'm also married. I came here along with my sister. Just an apprentice."

"You are married? Wow! Congratulations! What's your husband doing?"

"His name is Rishi, senior. You might have known him. He holds some shares here too."

"Oh! So you are that sudden bride? How the hell did your dad agree to this?" he asked me, shocked. I can sense that he is feeling bad for me.

"Haha! You should be asking me this question. But to answer your question, Rishi's dad is my dad's bestest friend!" I spoke in a light sense as I don’t want him to look at me with pity in his eyes.

"Oh, I see. So how is your life D? I mean, I know your husband's past. I'm sorry if it hurt you, but I have seen him many times with her here and many Sundays in Elegance boutique, RS puram. That was a super costly boutique. Is he treating you well?" he asked me.

"Thank you for your concern, senior. But he is in love with me now. I love him with all my heart. He was my school senior. My first crush. I'm so happy now." I told him to stop the talks about this in front of Dakshu.

"Sorry Danya. Anyways I'm so happy for you."

"Don't be sorry senior. your intentions are good."

"Anya, I've got some work to submit. We will talk during lunch break." he said.

"Sure senior. Bye Dakshu." I walked away from them.

So, Rishi has been spending his weekends with her. Saturdays here and Sundays in his boutique. Not bad for the first day.

I started my work by picking up dates of the last 3 contract's processing time in this office. I mean, from the day the contract set out to the auction day where the quotations are opened. It's quite a tricky job to find the culprit. At lunch break, me, Dakshu, Janani and Gowtham were talking while eating.

"How is my sister learning senior?"

"She is a good learner, Anya. Nothing like you."

"Haha Danya, He too knows that you are an average student. I have 86%. You don’t stand a chance against me. So don’t ask those questions to me." Dakshu said.

Everyone's laughing?

"Janani you too?" I pouted at her. She hugged me.

"Guys, stop laughing at her. Daksha, don't be mean to your sister." Janani said.

"Janani akka, You don't know about her. She will do every mischief in our home and blame me for everything she has done. She loves dogs and will bring in any and every stray dog to the backyard of our house without mom's knowledge. It will be me who gets scolding from my mom for the smelly dog poop that's all around. She is a silent killer. She is not innocent like you think."

"hahaha. Yes, Daksha is right. She is a trouble giver. When my batch mate gave her his assignment to complete, she wrote song lyrics in between. His internal marks were very low on that paper and he searched for her murderously. Remember Micheal?"

"OMG! you did that Danya?" Janani looked at me.

"Hehe! Assignments should be done by themselves. He asked me to write his assignment as ragging when I was in first year. So, I ragged him back. What's wrong? I even went to that Jollu mechanical professor to recommend for his internal marks. It's because of me he passed. Micheal bro must be thankful to me."

"See Janani akka, this is her true color. Everyone thinks that she is a goody goody and I'm bad. Just because she is silent doesn’t mean she is good. I just speak out loud but I'm pavam(pity)." Dakshu put her best innocent look on her face and we all started laughing.

"Hi guys." Karthik came in and we all went silent.

"Hi Karthik. join us." I said.

"Sure! So, this is why Rishi asked me to keep an eye on you huh!?"

"God, These all happened when I'm in college."

"And that's a decade back?" Dakshu smirked at me.

"Haha, you just finished your college, right? so that's pretty recent. I agree with your sister." Karthik said.

Why is everyone targeting me? It's because of this stupid sister. Divert them to her D!

"God stop it guys. You all know what? Someone here plays teacher on the door of my room even now. She loves teaching...." Dakshu closed my mouth and everyone started laughing.

Dakshu’s PoV

OMG this stupid sister is degrading me in front of that Orangutan. God he is laughing at me.

"Is that true, Daksha? You pretend your door is for board and play teachers? I mean we all would have done this. But in our school times! Even now?" Janani akka asked.

Puppy Shame! How am I supposed to defend myself here? So now it's her turn to smirk at me? My stupid sister.

"So, what teacher do you play? math, science?" Karthik asked me with a smirk. God he is teasing me.

"Huh, this is not a big deal. Someone here has used a tea-filter to catch tadpoles in the rainwater and thought it to be fish and put them in bottle jars. This happened in the last rainy season too." I said looking at my sister.

"Dakshu! You are so done. Guys you know what? Someone here wanted to become a video jockey. She used to interview me when I cook on Sundays at home. She uses room spray as Mic. This happened on a Sunday 3 weeks ago."

"Danya stop."

"You stop."

"You are embarrassing."

"You started it first."

"Whoa whoa, girls stop it. You girls are surely entertaining. And you laughed when Rishi told me about your sister? You are just like her. Omg!" Karthik is laughing loudly and so is everyone.

Me and Danya just looked at each other. We went a little overboard and embarrassed each other. God, we behaved like kids on our first day at work. Way to go. Why the hell is he looking at me like he is going to eat me?!
