57. The Fatal Day!

D's PoV

I woke up when my hubby stirred. I squint my eyes to see if he is still sleeping. But he was awake and running his hands in my hair. He was soothing me. I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep.

When I stopped him yesterday, I really felt bad for him. I knew I made a mistake by playing with his feelings. It was so hard for me to stop too. I pretended to sleep when he came out of the shower last night. I felt very guilty for doing this to him. I thought of just playing with him. But it went out of control. Now I’m sleeping on his chest with his arm wrapped around me and his other hand combing my hair. I feel like home. He kissed me on my head and placed me gently on the pillow and went to the restroom.

It was a small gesture. But it showed me how much he loves me. I can do anything to be with him. He is mine! Only mine! I joined everyone on the breakfast table. My hubby swallows his breakfast while swallowing me in his eyes. I looked him in the eye, I love it when he looks at me like this. He nodded his head and went to his car to go to his office.

I ran behind him, discarding Ravi's chuckle.

"Rishi!"

He turned to look at me. He raised his eyebrows at me questioningly. I lowered my gaze to the ground.

“Wait, let me talk first. I don’t think any low of you. There is nothing going on between me and Smirthi. You certainly don't have to worry about her. Give me some time to sort things out with her.” he said without a break. I can see that he wanted to tell this to me for so long now.

"um... I'm so sorry for yesterday. I um... I really didn’t mean to hurt you. I was scared. Please, Rishi. I will never do that again. Don't be mad at me please." I told him disregarding everything he said. He said there is nothing going on between them and that is more than enough for me.

He came to me so close that I could smell his addicting cologne. I held my breath for what to come. He has every right to yell at me for what I did.

"Don't be sorry, baby. I can understand. And don’t stop what you were doing. That was truly out of the world! Instead stop stopping me." he said returning to his cocky nature raising his eyebrows at me.

I blushed hard on what he said.

He winked at me and kissed me on my head and left. I just froze in my place. He is something else. How did he make butterflies when I'm afraid of him yelling at me? Do I really love him as much as he loves me?

I am happy. No, that is an understatement. He lit up my day! As I am done with the work Karthik gave me and I decided not to go to the office anymore. Ravi's college resumed. Uncle went to the mills. Chinna Anna finished his work and went out to buy groceries. I'm all alone at home. But that doesn't bother me. Nothing can make me sulk today. I'm so happy.

I saw an old pillow that was torn and the cotton was peeking out. I decided to make a teddy bear out of my pajama top and stuff the cotton into it. I was cutting my pjs top for sewing it into a teddy bear, when I heard a bell. Who might that be at this hour? I went to the door. It was Rohit. What the hell is he doing here at this time? He should have gone to his work, right?

"Hi Rohit! What’s up?" I held him on the doorstep without letting him in.

"Hi Danya. What are you doing? Are you free? I have something to tell you."

"Um...Just doing something. What is it about Rohit?" I still refused to make way for him.

"Are you not going to let me in?" he asked and I had to let him in.

"um...sorry. Please come in."

"Thanks. Danya, can I have some water?"

"sure." I gave him water and he settled himself on the sofa.

"Danya, I know in what circumstance your wedding happened. I saw your husband with his girlfriend at RS puram yesterday." he said. What is with people like him? Shitting behind and gossiping is all they like and enjoy. I hate them.

"um...I know that Rohit. He is not doing it without my knowledge. Thanks for taking your time to let me know. That's totally unnecessary. Sorry if I am rude, but it's my family matter." I expressed that I am not pleased with his behaviour.

"Oh, sorry Danya. I thought you should know about it. So, you have no problem in them being together?" He asked.

He stood up and came near me. I can feel something is not right. I moved away. That is when he held my hand and pulled me towards him.

"If you have no problem with that, then this is no problem too, sweetheart! I totally like you." he spoke while I struggled to get out of his hands.

How dare he? I saw the scissors on the table that I was using. I took it and stabbed his hand. He jerked away in pain and I ran outside of our home. Chinna anna just came in with the grocery bags. When he saw my state, he came running to me.

"What happened, Dear? why is your dress like this?" he was alarmed looking at my state.

"Anna, that Rohit, he misbehaved with me." I sobbed.

"Where is he? Wait let me call chinnayya(Rishi)" he pulled out his phone.

"There is no need for that. I stabbed him in the hand. Shanaya is a decent woman. I don’t want her to know this. Come with me. He is still inside." I stopped him from calling Rishi.

We went in together. Rohit was sitting on the sofa with his bleeding hand.

"Look here Rohit. You made a big mistake in your life. If I tell this to Rishi or Shanaya , your life will be done. Just get out and don’t even think of doing this to another girl. If you ever try to even see me, I will ruin your life. It was not hard for me to stab you in your heart. I chose not to, because of Shanaya and Roshan. Now get out!" I warned him.

He went out with his head dropped to the ground. Filthy!

Why does something like this happen to ruin my happiest day?!

"Danya, We should tell this to Periya ayya(my uncle) atleast. We can’t hide it. It's a big issue." Chinna anna said. He is right. I cannot trust Rohit.

"Will tell them when they come home. I don’t wanna bother them at work." I told him.

I was totally disturbed. I went to our room to pick my hubby's old album of photos. It may cheer me up. It's already evening. My uncle and Ravi may come anytime now. I should tell them what happened today. I was practicing how to tell them, like a 100 times in my mind. It sounds so disgusting.

"Kanna, Look who is here. We need your super cup of coffee."

Uncle came in with Ramakrishnan uncle. Now how will I tell him? Will have to tell him after lawyer uncle leaves. But if Rishi comes home before that, I cannot tell them. It will have to wait until tomorrow. I’m not sure how Rishi will react to it. If he takes it too personally, it may not end well for Shanaya and Roshan.

Ravi came as soon as uncle settled down on the sofa. I made coffee for all of them. When I went to the living room, everyone was having a happy chit-chat. That lightened up my mood. I served them with coffee and sat beside Ravi to enjoy the chatting.

"Our HoD is super strict. He wants us to do our projects by ourselves. He says he won't approve any bought projects. You have to help me with abstract and coding." Ravi said.

"Hehe Ravi, my final project is bought from a project center. I know nothing about coding." I said meekly to him.

"I knew it. Some faces are not meant for brains!" he said.

He laughed and both uncles joined him. I started beating him and he started to dodge them by holding my hands.

"Wow! You are sure here to spoil my Rishi's life and to make men fall at your feet. Go somewhere else for this. Just leave my Rishi and his family, bitch!" Smirthi came in and started shouting at me. I think I'm not destined to have a happy day in my life!
