His Real Side
An esoteric outline of a well-built figure ensconced in the swivel chair could be seen in the dark room. The only source of light illuminating the room was emanating through the white screen hung on the opposite wall.
His upper body was draped in a black shirt, with three of his top buttons undone revealing his clean-toned chest. The shirt was folded to his elbows revealing his tattooed veiny hands. His ring-cladded fingers were coiled around the glass as he took casual sips of alcohol. Leaning his head on the headrest, he removed the glass from his lips only to snuff the cigar that he was holding in his right hand.
The room reeked of alcohol and tobacco. His bloodshot eyes were fixed on the screen, a stoic expression on his face as he watched the naked woman enjoying herself in the shower, completely unaware of his sinful eyes capturing her every move.
She was none other than Evelyn.
His dark eyes roved over the sparkling rivulets cascading down her supple skin. Evelyn gathered her dampened locks over her right shoulder and pulled them to the front exposing her naked back. His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down as he memorized her every curve and dip.
He inhaled a sharp breath when his eyes dropped to her plump rear. His hold on the glass tightened as his eyes lingered there for a longer time as Evelyn washed off the excess lather. The air turned intense and heavy leaving him restless. He could see the mist forming on the glass tiles due to the shower. Seeing that, a lump formed in his throat as multiple depraved thoughts crossed his mind.
‘How would it be when I will take her against this glass-’
The raven-haired male immediately shook his head brushing off those thoughts. But again, he lost his control and looked at the screen. Relief washed over him when Evelyn turned on the knob and grabbed the towel. He dropped his gaze to the tent formed in his trousers. Damn, that was torture. He sighed but his eyes widened when Evelyn turned around.
The man almost died watching the heavenly view. Her hair was parted covering the soft lumps on her chest. Sweat trickled down his temple watching her taut waist and cute navel that resembled a small button. The man hurriedly looked up only to find her nose scrunched and her hands fidgeting with the towel.
Adorable.
A small smile etched on his lips watching her pink lips, wet eyelashes, and big doe eyes. Evelyn wrapped the towel around her figure and grabbed another one to dry her hair before exiting the bathroom.
That’s when his shoulders slouched and he breathed out a loud sigh. Grabbing the remote from the table, he turned on the screen and threw his head back on the chair. The man was hard as a rock and was in urgent need of a cold shower.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
“Come in.”
He uttered with difficulty but remained idle as he wasn’t in a state to move after watching that exclusive.
“We have a problem, Boss.” The cherry-haired guy spoke to the man who was facing the wall.
“What is it, Elijah?”
“Xander Knight has accepted Madam’s offer,” Elijah told him, fear was evident on his face knowing very well that the news would definitely upset the Mafia lord. And it did cause the very next moment, Dylan sprang, pushing the chair, and turned to face him. Elijah almost had a heart attack watching his murderous eyes.
“XANDER KNIGHT?? That bitch Sara, she didn’t tell me that he is her new client??” Dylan raged like a bull, his skin turning red in anger.
Elijah bobbed his head in apprehension, “I agree Boss but she also had no idea about the new client. Jonathan refused to reveal the name, even Madam was kept in the dark. But Sara said that Mr. Knight had refused the offer in the meeting after putting up a show that made Madam leave the meeting in between. I don’t know why he suddenly gave his approval?”
“BECAUSE HE FUCKING LOVE HER DAMNIT!!” Dylan growled and slammed the glass that he was holding on the table, breaking it in the process. Elijah flinched at the impact but what left him worried was the glass shards that pierced Dylan’s hands.
“He had always loved her but backed out in the past only because of me.” Dylan sneered, his gaze darkening when the past flooded his mind.
“B-But Boss, Sara said that he was angry at Madam and even scorned her but she kept calm and retreated without a fight. She ignored him maybe that intrigued him and he agreed to work together so that he can bother her again and again.” Elijah put forward his theory.
Dylan stiffened, he found him right.
“Yeah, it could be. Sent me the video of the meeting.” He spoke and looked at Elijah but his brows furrowed noticing the disconcert on his face, “What’s wrong?”
Elijah gulped and averted his eyes, “She didn’t send one. Sara said that the tech team had changed the passwords and there has been some amendments made in the system due to which she couldn’t hack either.” He spoke in a low voice.
“THEN WHAT THE HELL IS SHE EVEN DOING THERE??” Dylan didn’t buy any of his words and lashed out startling him, “Am I paying that incompetent mother-daughter duo only to get caught in the middle? But what right do I have to scold them when my own men are fucking useless?”
Elijah looked down; he knew Dylan would be disappointed. The poor guy was doused in regret when his shirt was grabbed in a tight grasp and before he could understand, Dylan pulled him from the ground making him stand on his toes.
“I didn’t wait for two years to lose in the end and protected her from every evil eye only to make her available for another man. I would never surrender just by the arrival of my best friends or because of the recklessness of my men. There is no use in keeping trash like you who are openly reciting your failed stories and aren’t even ashamed to show me your face. I can handle Brandon but I can’t take any chances with Xander knowing my wife once had a special spot for him in her heart.”
Elijah turned pale as a sheet in response. “M-Madam loved Xander Knight-AHH!!”
He tried to ask him a daring question but Dylan didn’t let him complete and tossed him on the floor like a sack.
“NO, SHE DOESN’T AND SHE CAN’T!!” Dylan bellowed, his mind clouding with anger. That mere thought was strong enough to trigger his psychotic side.
“She is my wife; she still legally belongs to me. YOU HEAR ME, MY WIFE!! MY GENIE!! I was the one who first saw her, kissed her, and wedded her. I don’t care about her hatred, I will win her back but no matter what happens, I wouldn’t let her leave me. NOT TODAY NOT EVER!!” Seething, he turned around and whisked everything from the table before kicking it.
“DO YOU HEAR ME?? SHE IS MINE, SHE BELONGS TO ME, DYLAN BLACK!!”
Yelling like a madman, he started thrashing the room. Elijah was horrified, he had never confronted his deranged state ever. He was only familiar with the cold and calculative image of his Boss who was agile, cunning, and wise. His sharp moves and efficient calls always kept him one step ahead of his rivals. That’s how he was able to transform from a businessman to a Mafia Lord in just two years. The profession Dylan opted for entailed too much danger but he happily took all the risks. He even put his career at stake as he craved immense power and position-the things which would help him keep an eye on Evelyn and stay close to her.
Dylan knew that without his Genie, his company would collapse in a day and even if he hired people to stalk Evelyn, he wouldn’t succeed for long. Evelyn was smarter than him, she would catch him soon and then his dirty games would be exposed. And whatever hope he had for winning her back would be destroyed too. Mr. Black had left his side, his friends had abandoned him and he wasn’t that strong so he decided to look for another way. A journey that will be full of dangers, streets dipping with blood with rivals who will hunt you down at every step, and a position where he will have more snakes than friends. But once he defeats all his competitors and acquires the throne, the world will be at his feet.
Elijah couldn’t bear to watch Dylan acting like a lunatic. He had great respect for him as Dylan was the one who saved his life and sheltered him when his family kicked him out.
“I am sorry Boss but I promise you that I will not disappoint you again.” He rushed to Dylan who was punching the wall repetitively while cursing out loud.
Dylan on the other hand froze after hearing his words. Taking the cue, Elijah continued, “I would assign someone else in place of Sara, Boss. You just sit back and let me handle everything. Just one chance Boss,” he pleaded.
Dylan scoffed; he wasn’t a bit moved by his sincerity.
“Who will be your new watchdog huh? Sara was the closest to Evelyn and Joseph is too loyal to her. Other than that, no one knows her schedule or stays with her 24/7.”
Elijah didn’t reply. Dylan then turned around and gazed at him, “Now don’t tell me you’re thinking of luring Joseph.” He ridiculed Elijah after noticing the shine in his eyes.
Elijah clenched his fists and instantly denied, “We had enough of Maria Estates’s clumsiness. It’s time to relieve Madam’s secretary of her duty and look for another secretary who would prove useful to us, Boss.”
His lips slowly twitched into a sly smile. Dylan understood his intentions. He looked at him before letting out a dark chuckle.
“What are you waiting for then?”
