Saving Her
“Move.”
Brandon growled as the female bodyguards who were assigned to guard Evelyn’s room blocked his way.
“I am sorry Sir but no one is allowed inside.” One of them replied in a professional tone. They had strict orders not to let anyone enter the room without Xander’s permission.
Brandon smirked and tilted his head to the left.
“Can you tell them to move?” He spoke. Those two women frowned and followed his gaze to see whom he was talking to. A shocking gasp flew out of their mouth and they spat blood when Brandon slit their throats in one swift move. Both the women unstably succumbed to death. Their blood spattered staining his white suit but he wasn’t a tinge bit bothered as he pushed away their dead bodies and nodded at Aaron who quickly came out of his hide spot and began his work to hide those corpses.
Brandon dropped his gaze to his coat. A scowl marred his face.
“Fuck!!” He gritted and immediately wrenched out his coat and threw it on those women.
“Hide it too. We can’t leave any evidence behind.” He said to Aaron sternly and then proceeded to unlock the door.

Meanwhile
“Oh my God, oh my God!!”
Evelyn cried helplessly while clutching the silver chain dangling from her neck. Her knees were knocking in terror as her gaze kept flitting to the clock hanging on the wall every now and then.
“Ma’am, please don’t cry. You will ruin the makeup.” The stylist spoke worriedly as she dabbed the tissue on her rosy cheeks, trying to clear her tears but they kept pouring down more and more until she was full-blown crying.
Cladded in an expensive shimmering white bridal gown, and her thick silky locks styled in a beautiful updo, Evelyn looked ethereal. But despite the heavy layers of makeup, she only resembled a porcelain doll that was deprived of life. How could she be happy when this marriage was being imposed on her? Evelyn tried to escape multiple times but ended up getting caught. Xander made sure she doesn’t get any calls for help. He confiscated her phone, laptop, and any sort of electronic gadgets. His father couldn’t tolerate this anymore so he finally revolted. Evelyn was surprised to see him defending her but that only enraged Xander and he locked her father in his room just like he did to Maria. Joseph also couldn’t control himself when he got to know about Xander’s shenanigans. But he barked the wrong tree as he approached the cops and ended up getting jailed.
He snatched her every hope to escape him except Dylan. Evelyn prayed that he come and rescue her but Xander again crashed her hope.
Evelyn was stunned to know that Dylan was arrested. He was shot by Brandon who helped Xander to catch him and then handed him to the police. Xander proudly told her that he had exposed Dylan and since he was in police custody so he can easily marry her. Finding all the doors closed, Evelyn pulled out her final card and told him that she was still married to Dylan so, legally she can’t marry another man until she gets a divorce but Xander disregarded her questions. He was successful in proving Dylan a wanted criminal hence earning the support of the law. The police would shore him up with anything that will be against Dylan. Even if it meant to overlook his crimes.
Finally, the day arrived which she dreaded the most. To save herself, Evelyn locked herself in the bathroom. She refused to come out but Xander had no place for her stubbornness. He had hired female bodyguards to deal with his bratty wife. Evelyn revolted, she even threw objects at them, anything which can help her but how can she compete with those trained and strong bodyguards?
“I-I can’t. I don’t want to marry him.” Evelyn started crying loudly. She was terrified. Why it always has to be her? Doesn’t she deserve happiness? There is a limit to suffering but it seems like her fate had only written pain and betrayal for her.
The stylists pitied her. One of the girls caressed her back while one offered her water. They all know that it was wrong but they couldn’t stop. What confused them was the cops who were guarding the mansion. Can’t they see that the marriage was against her will? They were willing to help a man who was marrying a girl at gunpoint?
The door creaked open. The girls that had circled a sobbing Evelyn turned their heads at the entrance only to see Brandon. He was dressed in a crisp white shirt and black pants and looked smoking hot. Their jaw dropped as they silently appreciated his handsome features.
Brandon sauntered inside and spoke coldly, “Leave the room. Now!!” He spat which immediately jumped them to action. Lowering their heads, the girls quickly scurried away leaving Evelyn to wallow in her misery alone.
Evelyn wasn’t a bit bothered by his presence so she didn’t grace him with any response. Once the room cleared, Brandon locked the door and rushed to Evelyn. He kneeled in front of her and grabbed her hand but Evelyn jerked him away.
“Don’t touch me. Just leave me please,” she spat and looked away.
“Hey, hey. Sshh. Look at me. I am here to save you.” Brandon cooed and cupped her face. Evelyn looked at him puzzled.
“What do you mean? You were the one who-”
“I don’t have time to explain everything Evelyn but all I can assure you is that Dylan will be here in a minute.”
“W-What?”
Evelyn whispered, tears of joy and relief brimming in her eyes. Brandon flashed her a small smile and wiped her tears with his thumb.
“But Xander had deployed so many police deputies. He can’t come here.” Worry laced her features.
Evelyn was desperate to get out of this cage so even in her vulnerable state, she remained on her toes. Despite knowing that she would get caught, she didn’t stop annoying Xander and sometimes ended up in a feud with the cops. Xander then had to intervene to save her life. The day ended with his reprimands and her getting confined in her room.
Brandon grabbed her shoulders and squeezed gently before looking deeply into her eyes.
“Listen Evelyn. Dylan can’t come here not because the police have encompassed the mansion but because we need to make Xander believe that he is still in a hospital. Our plan will succeed only if you do as I say. Don’t act suspiciously or do anything that will alert Xander’s men. His loyal dogs are lurking everywhere ready to report your one mistake to him. He didn’t know I am here. I sneaked into the mansion because he has zero trust in me. I just came here to warn you and now I must leave. Act like this conversation never happened. He is too clever Eve and he can be defeated only if you trick him. I promise Dylan will save you so please tell me that you trust me. I am running out of time” He spoke sincerely. Evelyn nodded and grabbed his hand.
“Thank you, Brandon. I was so scared. But why is Xander doing this?”
Her words rendered him speechless. Brandon lowered his gaze; he was also ashamed of his best friend’s doing.
“I don’t know Eve. All I can do is apologize on his behalf and save you from his madness.”
Evelyn’s eyes softened watching his rueful eyes. She gently cupped his face and made her look at him.
“It’s not your fault. I-I also don’t want to hate Xander but he’s done horrible things, things that I had never imagined especially from him. Yet I pray to Lord that he gets his senses back and back down before it’s too late.”
Brandon nodded sadly and stood up. Evelyn watched him as he turned his heels and exited the room. She saw the pain in his eyes. His crestfallen face and dejected form tore her heart.
But she needs to stay strong. At least Brandon gave her hope and now the plan would succeed only if she cooperates.
Sighing loudly, Evelyn wiped her tears and composed herself.
