Chapter 12

“Rose…I love it, you’re so adorable angle” he kissed my cheek making me blush “I love everything about you” I stared into his eyes wanting to kiss him again

“What the hell, don’t you see me standing here?” April said hitting me on the shoulder with her hand

“Ouch” I whined rubbing the spot where she hit me

“Hey, what the hell…are you crazy?” Kein barked at her taking me into his arms holding me tight

“And you, what’s wrong with you? Using your power as her boss to take advantage of my sister” she growled hitting him now

“April enough” I said launching my body over his protecting him from her blows

“Why are you standing up for this scumbag, you two are acting like you’re mates or something” she huffed breathing heavily glaring at us, I looked at Kein and he looked at me beaming with the biggest smile on his face, I turned my gaze to April who was still fuming and bit my lip, her wet golden-brown hair lined her face as her eyes shifted back and forth from Kein to me.

Kein slowly snaked his hand down my arm and tangled out hands together, I watched as April’s eyes widened and shock sketched on her face “don’t tell me” she put her hands on top of her head pacing up and down

“Yep, I know” I sighed, Kein’s grip tightened, I looked up at him, the warm smile on his face reassuring me and telling me that he was here with me all the way, and that we will figure this out together somehow. April gasped making me turn my gaze to her, she was waving her finger back and form from me to Kein, her green eyes questioning us

“Did you two mate?” she whispered

“Not yet” I said avoiding Kein’s stare

“But if I hadn’t come back and interrupted you... would you have?” Kein pulled me to him, his arms around my waist the warmth of his body making me lean into him

“Oh, most definitely” he beamed leaning in to kiss me again

“Stop that” she barked pushing him off me, knocking him back on the couch “you can’t mate her” she boomed

“And why not?, she is my mate, and I don’t need your permission to mate her and claim her as mine” he barked getting on his feet and standing in front of me protecting me from my sister, they glared at each other both of them not backing down

“April…enough” I breathed; she growled her eyes turning silver grey telling me that her wolf was preparing to take over “I SAID ENOUGH!” I barked with my voice mixed with my wolfs, her green eyes stared back at me, and her wolf retreated. "I know what you are trying to do, and I love you for that, but this is between me and Kein, you need to back off” she nodded and walked to the bedroom, she gave Kein a fierce look and growled softly before closing the door

“So, that was my sister” I smiled softly at him with a light chuckle “charming isn’t she?” he smiled pulling me into his hard sculpted chest, he laid his chin on the top of my head breathing me in “she is right you know” I whispered taking a deep breath preparing myself for what I had to say

“About what?” he dug his nose into my hair and breathed deeply kissing me lightly as he did so

“You can’t mark me, at least not yet” he pushed me out of his arms glaring at me with his beautiful brown eyes that had a touch of gold when the sun hit them

“You don’t want my mark?” his eyes searching mine

“Yes I do, of course I do, but you and I know what will happen after you mark me, it will be next to impossible to resist each other…and I can’t bare being in that state and having to still share you with someone else” I felt the tears well up in my eyes, it was already hard enough trying to resist him now, once I’m marked there will be nothing I can do, I won't be able to resist him at all.

“I’m working on that” he breathed, biting his lips in frustration

“As hard as it might be, we have to wait until then” a pain gripped my heart as my wolf fell into a deep despair, the feeling of hopelessness she felt made me feel empty inside, hollow like life wasn’t worth living, I took a deep breath, walked to the door “I will email you the presentation, please feel free to send me any recommendations that you might have” I opened the door and offered him a small bow as he walked out, I closed the door and let out a big sigh.

“Is he gone?” April whispered through a small opening at the door, I nodded and motioned for her to come out “what are you thinking Alee?” she asked as I sat on the couch and looked into space

“I don’t know…when it comes to him, I can’t think ...I need some fresh air” I huffed as I got up, changed, and went out

I walked the streets of Korea lost in thought “hey didn’t I tell you to put that back” a mother yelled at her son in the middle of the street “now we have to walk all the way back” I smiled looking intently at them, no matter where you are or what language you speak a mom will always be a mom

“But why?” the boy whined

“Because we didn’t pay for it, I’m not a thief are you a thief?” he shook his head and the mother dragged him back

“Your Korean has improved” my wolf said, proud of me, I smiled and looked at the mom and son and watched as they turned the corner. I miss my mom, I know there is nothing she can do for me in the situation I find myself in, but just her holding me in her arms telling me everything will be fine is enough at this point.

“And a scolding from mom is universal too” I said softly to myself as I started walking again, I had no idea where I was going, but I took comfort in the fact that I had my wallet, and I could take a taxi no matter where I ended up.

“I had walked for hours taking in the scenery, I’ve always loved the cherry blossom tree, but we don’t have any back home and here in Korea it seems they are everywhere, they are by far the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

“Stop” my wolf barked, raising my hand to ring the bell at the gate, I shook my head bringing my eyes back in focus

“What the hell” I gasped looking at a white house with blueish green shutters, a waist high brick wall lined with assorted coloured flowers and plants, it looked enchanted and tranquil, my anger started to build up

“You bitch, you distracted me, how dare you” I barked “you filled my mind with all these wonderful thoughts as a freaking distraction so you can bring me here, to his house, do you have any idea what you’ve done?”

“I want my mate, I need him, I want his mark on me and he wants to mark me as well, I will not let you get in the way of that” she growled at me.

Seeing that there is absolutely no reasoning with her, I turned and started running towards the place where I saw taxis lined up

“Aaaahh” I screamed falling to the ground, my half-marked spot aching and throbbing uncontrollably, the pain was unbearable “what do you think you’re doing?” I grimaced grunting through clenched teeth

“That is how I feel, every second that goes by without his mark, now turn around or prepare to share the pain with me” I could feel her grinning in victory

“You bitch, I’m in control here not you” I barked forcing myself off the pavement doing my best to walk towards the taxi’s, my body felt heavy, each step felt like I was in quicksand and with every movement, with every struggle I was being pulled down

“Get his mark and this will all be over” she hissed enjoying every second of her torturing me

“Shut the fuck up” I collapsed on top of the hood of a taxi breathing heavily, the driver got out panic and worry written all over him, his eyes wide with terror, his body frantically moving back and forth with his hands on his head, undoing his perfectly gelled hair

“Are you alright Miss” I nodded

“Can you help me inside please” I breathed

“Yes, I’ll get you to the hospital right away” he said helping me into the back seat

“No, just take me home please” I gave him the address, my arm felt like it was being torn from my body, I leaned back unable to feel my fingers or move them, I don’t think that blood is even getting through

“We are here Miss, are you sure you don’t want to go to the hospital?”

“Yes, I'm sure, thank you for…son of a bitch” I hissed as I started to open the door and saw the same white house with blueish green shutters again “what are we doing here?” I looked at the driver “why did you bring me here?”

“This is the address you gave me” he repeated the address, and it was indeed Kein’s address, I shook my head and gave him my address again, how did I give him Kein’s address, have I lost my mind, what the hell is wrong with me?

“Uh, Miss…you gave me the same address again” I heard my wolf laugh

“Are you doing this?” I barked at her; her laugh became more sinister “how...how the hell are you doing this?”

“You’re very weak right now, making it easy for me to break through the barrier, if you don’t get that mark, you will never know when or where, but I will always be waiting to take my chance”

“Fuck” I growled, I took my phone out of my pocket, found Secretary Yeon’s email, and showed the driver my address, he nodded and drove off, the further we got from Kein’s house the better my arm felt

“You win this round” she growled, and retreated whimpering, her sobs echoed in my head, I took a deep breath relieved that it was finally over, I climbed out of the taxi and started walking to my house, I stopped and gasped

“Kein, what are you doing here?” he was sitting on the stoep patiently waiting for me, my wolf came alive and started wagging her tail, he got up and looked at me, he looked exhausted, his eyes had dark circles underneath them, his normally perfect hair was dishevelled, his cloths looked like he had been rolling around on the ground

“My wolf won’t let me leave” he whispered in a low strained voice, to this my wolf leaped throwing me into his arms avoiding the barrier completely

“Mark me, I'm here and I am yours” she beamed
