Chapter 66
“I’m ready.” Artemis sat on the bed and saw her mate.
“Perfect then,” he said, standing on his feet. “Let’s go outside and get some fresh air with me in the woods because you just took my breath away.”
“Godddd!! You’re your cheesy lines.” Caroline replied, shaking her head. She was wearing a long black, off-shoulder gown and had her Talismans on her neck as a pendant and a matching earning as her as Talismans; along with this, her long hair was tied in a messy bun, with a lot of strands of hair were left loose.
“By the way, what's the real reason behind your smile? It's obviously not my cheesy lines." Artemis said with a smile. He hadn't forgotten how his mate was looking at her phone in the morning.
"That's not the complete truth. I liked your compliment in your way. The fact that is making me happier is that... that Colt finally texted me, informing me that he will be here by tomorrow evening or the day after tomorrow morning."
"Really? Wow! That's great. Finally, I will get a chance to meet your family member." Artemis smiled widely. "But hold on? Don't you think that you should tell me about your family now?"

“And we are here,” Artemis said, parking the car in front of the pack house. Walking out of the car, he opened the door for her, and like a true gentleman, he forwarded his hand for his mate. Caroline grabbed it and hopped out of the car. She looked around and found a couple of pack members looking at them, especially Caroline.
‘So, she is that witch.’
‘She is beautiful.’
‘I have heard that she got Alpha Heir a business deal by possessing the investor.’
‘Don’t know if she is wicked or not, but she is surely biased.’
‘We shouldn’t judge her without knowing her. Everyone here knows that how good Alpha Heir is when it comes to business, better than his own father and his cousin.’
“Let’s go.” Caroline insisted to her mate, who was looking at her dress.
‘There is a slit on the gown?’ He said, more like asking through the mind link.
‘Umm… yeah! Didn’t you notice it before?’
‘No. I didn’t. If I would have any idea about this, then I wouldn’t have let you wear this at all.’ Artemis frowned, seeing the slit. He observed it when Caroline took her first long leg out of the car, revealing her long and slender legs. Caroline looked at him in disbelief while Artemis looked back at her in a serious tone.
“Are you guys going to keep staring at each other? Or are you playing a game?” Out of nowhere, Raul joked, breaking their eye contact. “Arti, give me the keys; I will park the car at the right place.”
Giving keys to Raul, they walked toward the backyard of the pack.
‘Damn, I don’t think I can enjoy the party now.’
‘Why not?’
‘Because my eyes either will be on your legs OR throwing daggers to others.’ Artemis said, bringing his mate closer to him.
Caroline chuckled, hearing him, and smacked his chest. ‘By the way, you aren’t bleeding just like other days, isn’t it?’
‘Yes!! That’s because it’s my fourth day, and it’s almost over.’
‘Almost?’ Does that mean that we can ask that question tonight without waiting for tomorrow?’ Bolt asked quickly, taking an interest in the conversation.
‘Gosh! You both are such a pervert. Always think of sex, sex, and sex!!’ Caroline muttered.
“As if you don’t enjoy it or want it? Huh?” Artemis asked, giving her a devilish smile.
“Ahhh! I hate when you’re so right.” Caroline admitted without lying about her feelings. When the couples looked around at the decoration lifting their eyes from each other, Artemis’s jaw clenched while Caroline was prepared for it.
All the decorations were done with white lilies and lobelia flowers. All the supernatural creatures knew that Lobelia flower was one of the weaknesses of witches, no matter how powerful she was. (The Lobelia flower prevents a witch from being able to focus and concentrate, which is necessary to effectively cast spells, making it a common herb used in the weakening of a witch.)
“We’re leaving.”
“Honey…!!” Caroline stopped him. “It’s fine. I won’t be able to use my power here, but you can, right? So, let’s not create any scenes. On the top, I want to meet your parents.” She added, and Artemis reluctantly agreed.
‘Imagine that our mate is just a normal human tonight, and we have to be extra careful with her safety.’ Bolt suggested, to which his hooooman agreed.
Caroline smiled at Lucy when her eyes landed on Lucy while walking toward somewhere Artemis was taking him. She stopped him from walking ahead when she observed Lucy’s signal to wait, and she walked toward them with a man in his sixties.
“Marcus, she is my Arti’s mate, Caroline.” She introduced her mate to Caroline and then looked at Caroline. “And Caroline, he is my mate, Marcus. He used to be the head warrior of the pack.”
“I’m glad to finally meet you, sir,” Caroline said with a smile. “And I must say that you both are looking amazing together.”
A smile appeared on Marcus’s lips. “Thank you, Caroline. I can now see what my mate talks so highly of you in terms of your behavior.”
Caroline placed her hand on her left side and grinned. “Glad to know that you have heard nice things about me.”
“Even I have heard amazing things about you, Ma’am.” Caroline turned her head toward the direction from where that voice came, and she found a beautiful woman in her thirties was holding her toddler son in his arms and was walking, more like running toward her while Aiden was trying to stop her.
