“I was thinking of talking with Mom about us,” Caroline said after hopping out of the car. Artemis sighed and nodded his head. “You look disturbed again.”

“Nothing. Just work.” Artemis replied. “I will see you later. I have to return back to work. I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay!!” She smiled because she already knew why he was disturbed all of a sudden because she had already heard what Raul had informed him when he was on the way back home, enjoying the news.

*Arti, Megan Rossi is here to see you, and she won’t leave without talking with you. So, please come soon. I have asked her to wait in your cabin so that she wouldn’t create a scene here with a model that is with her.*

Caroline knew that Megan Rossi was the woman who gave birth to Artemis, and it looked like Artemis hated her from the bottom of his heart, so the mere name of his mother changed his mood. As much as she knew from Colton’s report, his mother was never interested in becoming Beta Female, so staying close to his father, she used to try to seduce Artemis’s Uncle, Santino’s father, when her plan didn’t work in that way. The strange thing about Sila was no one knew from where she landed on earth because even though Colton tried to find more about her, he couldn’t find anything, as if there was no human with this name before.

When Artemis reached his cabin, he saw a woman in her late fifties, wearing all diamonds and gold all over her body. He sneered, looking at her. He was so embarrassed about his mother that he hadn’t told Caroline about her.

He hated to admit it, but his mother was among those women who used her body to get whatever she wanted, including luring rich men, and right now, she was the widow of one of the top billionaires in Italy. He wasn’t surprised when he came to know that she became a widow just after a few years of her marriage; after all, she married a man who was almost double her age.

It was more like Caroline marrying someone of her grandpa’s age. And then his eyes landed on the model beside her. Thankfully, she was wearing decent clothes rather than revealing unnecessary parts.

“Artemis!!” Megan Rossi left her chair to hug him, but Artemis stepped back, showing his hand. He walked toward his chair and sat there, maintaining distance from both the woman.

“Why’re you here?" He asked directly without wasting time.

"Won't you ask how I am?" Megan Rossi asked, showing her sad eyes to him.

"I would have asked if you would have been in hospital. As long as you're not dying, I won't waste my time asking this question. So, why are you here?" Artemis asked coldly.

"I came to know that you are going through some financial crisis. So, as a mother, I came here to offer you some help; after all, it's parents' job to pull their pups out of their problems." Hearing it, Bolt growled in anger and wanted to hit her powder's face with his paw.

The type of woman she was, Artemis would have started hating the whole female species if not for Sila, who gave him the right guidance to him.

'Don't get mad at her, Bolt. She doesn't deserve our anger as well.'

"I came to know how that cousin of yours is trying his best to bring you down, feeling jealous of your success. He stooped so low that he sold almost all his shares of the company just to bribe those shareholders who could be bought to keep them in favor and throw you out of the position for which you have so hard. Sometimes, I can't believe that you gave up Alpha's position for a cousin like him. He doesn't deserve your kindness, Arti."

"I'm sure. You're not here to talk about this matter. And I don't need to take suggestions from an outsider on my decision. I'm not a toddler who will fall in anyone's words." Artemis responded in a cold tone. "Do you think that I don't know who the main person behind those shareholders is taking bribes? Hmm? It's you, Megan Rossi. You get all the details of the company from those shareholders, and trust me, at the moment, I will have enough funds in the bank account. The first thing I will do is to kick you're So, save our time and come directly to the point.

"Okay, son. As you say! I know that barely a few shareholders want to invest their personal funds in your upcoming project, which will be really profitable. Artemis was not at all surprised to realize that his so-called mother was calling granddaughter to a woman who was around her son's age.
