Facing The Truth 2
Chapter 63
Facing The Truth
"Coke…. Beer… ah yeah! Chilled soda." Alex raised the bottle up, "what do you think?" He asked Anthony.
Tony was still dumbstruck, since when did his boss visit him at this ungodly hour of the night and start ramshackling through his choices of buzz in his freeze?
"I'll have the coke, sir." He replied; still confused that Alex was serving him in his own house.
"Great! Here you go." Alex handed the coke can to Tony. "Come, let's have a seat." Alex instructed as he led the way from the kitchen back to the living room.
'oh, now he's ushering me around my own house, just great.' Tony followed like he was instead the stranger.
They both opened their drinks as they made themselves comfortable on opposite sofas, facing each other.
Tony's house wasn't that grand, but it was decent enough, bigger than what most bachelor's would normally prefer to stay in. There was a double door separating the kitchen from the living room and dining room. Actually, he had his dining section in the same space as the living room… and that was where both men now sat facing each other.
"So tell me exactly what you had to say in the morning." Alex opened the conversation.
"Uhmmm, sir…. Do you mean yesterday morning? Because we just started today." Tony pointed out.
"Ah yeah, good one." For a guy who just caught his girlfriend in bed with another man, Alex was pretty relaxed ___ well a little bit too jelly given the circumstances.
"Uhm, sir… I already did." Tony insisted.
"No! Anthony, I want the truth." Alex said, as calmly as never before.
"Uhmmm, sir…"
"I am listening." Alex crossed his leg over the other and leaned on the table. His posture was a little bit intimidating__ obviously not to Tony though.
Once again, Tony was in a tight spot. He thought he was done with this topic yesterday morning, but here he was, having an impromptu vigil to talk about it again.
He would not stop twirling his poor drink.
Alex on the hand, was professionally sipping his soda as if it were hot tea or coffee.
Both men stared at each other.
"Ok, let me make it easier, give me the footage from her hotel." Alex said plainly.
Tony's butt began automatically sweating on his seat. He was about to ask himself how Alex knew but then he remembered that his boss was the almighty Alex Beau. They both knew who the " here " was being referred to.
He swallowed hard. " Sir?"
"Yes, Tony ! If you don't want to tell me what happened, then show me what you are hiding." He sipped his soda again.
"Sir, I don't know what you are talking about." Tony shivered as the smooth but lame lie escaped his mouth. He could not even raise his head to look at the man in front of him.
"Why are you protecting her? Except you are her accomplice?" Alex said accusingly. Alex was still unusually calm for a guy of his demeanor.
"No, sir… absolutely not." Tony denied almost immediately, shaking his head.
"Hmmm, OK. If you must know, I'm from the central city and I asked the hotel for the security footage of Claire's stay there…. Do you know what they said?" Alex said slowly.
Tony began shifting uncomfortably on his chair. He was not nervous because his boss knew what Claire had been doing behind his back, he was nervous because he lied to Alex and still stupidly just lied a few seconds ago.
His throat automatically got dry. He had to scalp his mouth to generate enough spittle to wet his dry throat.
"They said, a man called…….. " he stared at Tony straight in the eye. "On behalf of me and requested for certain parts to be deleted. So technically, a good number of hours are automatically blind, but ...." He stood up from his seat as he spoke. "..... I know that my Tony would never be stupid not to keep a copy." He leaned over Tony from the back, whispering menacingly in the poor soul's ear. "I want to know what is so interesting about my girlfriend that you don't want me *as her boyfriend* to see." He stood up and circled Tony, to stand in front of the scare-to-death Tony.
"Sir, you would not like what is on the tape." Tony managed to say.
"That's for me to decide, Anthony." Alex said; he finally took his seat again.
"I'm being your friend right now and not your employee." Tony insisted.
"I know, that's why I've not yet fired you for lying to me." Alex said sharply.
Tony took a deep breath, held it in for a few seconds before releasing his breath. He soaked his throat with his coke, emptying the can like it was a shot of whiskey.
"She was involved in a gang bang." Tony spat in out with no warning.
He raised his eyes to gauge Alex's reaction.
Alex, who had his soda in his hand and was about to drink from his bottle, froze mid air with the soda bottle just a few inches away from his mouth.
Shocked, was an understatement of how he felt right now. In a million years, he could never have thought that that was what Tony was not saying.
He stayed silent, hoping that Tony would say it's April fool in November.
"She spent the night with a group of boys and spent the morning with another group of boys." Tony added in a low tune. He knew that his boss was in shock, but it's preferable Alex heard it verbally first, to psychologically prepare himself before seeing the video.
If there was a stray fly in the room right now, it could find solace in Alex's mouth.
'so she had two gang bangs?' he tried to reason out what Tony just said.
'If she spent the night with a group of boys and the morning with another group, it means that there were two different groups of guys, implying that she was gang banged twice, by different categories of men.' The whole thing sounded like math to him.
'oh, and there was Mr Gelintine too… wow!' He had a monologue in his head__ first of its kind.
Tony was worried about his boss. Alex was never the type to run out of words, he always had something to say, always kept his cool, always readily absorbed things. He could not blame his boss though, he himself took hours to digest the news. Just the thought of not just one guy drilling your woman, but multiple guys… that too, at the same time, was more than bone shattering.
"Sir…?" Tony, called out of concern.
"Yeah." Alex answered drunkenly, as if someone just woke him up from sleep. "What?" He asked authoritatively, trying to sound like he was fine.
Deep down, his heart was shattered into a million pieces. It felt like someone was sweeping the pieces together only to break them again into smaller bits.
"You should spend the night here, I'll get the guest room ready sir." Tony suggested. He knew that his boss was in no state to spend the night alone, talk less of driving.
Alex just nodded obediently. Finally he gulped down his soda.
