Her doom

Tracy didn't know how to answer the question, she was scared that if she told him the truth he was going to hate her, but the way he looked at her with so much care, and a sincere one at that reminded her of how he use to want her, how he used to love her before Amanda happened, she wondered if he still felt anything for her or he was just forced to marry her, but then again she remembered that she was no longer pregnant and Dave could leave if he wanted to but he was still there, he was with her giving her all the support she needed, she knew this was not the time to say the truth, but she needed to tell him something close to the truth else, he might be forced to walk away from her, as if answering her hidden thoughts he said.

"I want the truth from you, and don't you even try to lie to me, if you do not tell me the truth, I will find out, and you will never see me again"

Tracy thought that she was even lucky to have seen this much of him, she had thought that by the time she woke up from the hospital,she was going to be alone, she never knew that days after her accident she was still able to hold Dave, she looked through the window, and saw a strange image swift pass, she was sure of whom she saw, but when she opened her mouth to say something, the image was already gone.

She had just seen Steven by her window, was she hallucinating?

She couldn't really tell, but she was almost sure she had seen him by the window, he looked different and he seemed to be healing, though he still had the bandage on, her thought was about to rummage when she felt the strong hand of Dave holding her to bring her back to reality, she turned to him to meet his questioning eye.

"What is so hard that you cannot tell me? You know we are all here to give you our support, and who is this person, that you are so scared if, that even your father cannot come into the matter?

Dave was enranged now, he could not understand the reason she would even be scared of anyone, unless the person is stronger than her father.

"Someone is after my life, he attacked me at the house and when I tried to escape he pushed me down the stairs and stabbed me, if you hadn't been home early that day, I would have been dead by now.

Thank you so much for saving my life.

Now she was trying to change the topic, but Dave wasn't done asking his questions, he needed a name to accompany her short story.

Bit he quickly remembered how he had found her in a pool of blood, he had come back home to drive her to the hospital, she was going to start her checkup from that day, he didn't want her to drive because he knew how carelessly she drives, but when he got to the house, she was white, she looked pale and could have died, in a panic he carried her light frame, dripping with blood all around his car and drove to the hospital, he didn't make a sound, he didn't want to believe the sound he was hearing was his heart because they were so loud, to think that he couldn't explain what happened to Tracy even after days only made him feel incapable, he was glad that they could help her, she was stabilized and she woke up sooner than he had thought, yet she was perpetually scared that someone was after her.

"Is Sonia involved with this person?

She wasn't expecting this part of the question, but she couldn't tell him how involved Sonia was, else she would have said too much, she nodded as to say No, but she knew she was telling lies again, how was she ever going to know how he truely felt about him if she was going to continue to lie to him but she wasn't going to take the chance, she was going to continue to lie until there was no other option.

"Dave please, I really don't want to talk about it, and I don't want to get anyone into trouble, and that is why I need to leave this country, if I don't leave, more people might get hurt".

She added, thinking he would reason with her, but he asked again.

"Why is the person after your life?

She didn't know what answer to give him, she couldn't just tell him that the person is the man that raped Amanda and got her pregnant, she had paid him off, but he only came back for more, and not just more money, but to also sleep with her, and she had to double cross him, which cost him his eye and now he is after her.

""It was in the past, I insulted the person, and now, he thinks he is rich enough to take revenge on me for just insulting him in public.

""Good enough, who is this person?

He asked.

Tracy looked at the window again, but when she did not see him there, she decided that she was only hallucinating, he wouldn't even dare come close to the hospital, not when there are so many guards outside and inside the hospital, her door was always open so that no one comes in to hurt her through the roof.

"I am sorry, I cannot give you a name, but maybe when I am out of this country and beleive that I am free, I can then give you a name, and I will only come back when I hear he is dead.

She wondered where Sonia was, but she knew even she must be facing her own doom, because conscience was the worst punisher any one could ever ask for.
