Josh knows what he wants to hear, and though, all through the walk to his house, he had been schooling himself, on the virtues of being a friend, looking at him now, he doesn't know, if he should tell him, or he should be nice, but then, his conscience would not let him.

If he doesn't tell Dave the truth now, and he hurt himself in the end, then, he will blame himself forever, he should know the truth.
